  1. Neither of these cases accept gen parts PERIOD. And the first thing to remember is that if you want any gen parts (minus the crown) then forget using either of these. These are what I refer to as "oversized" cases because the dial they accept is bigger than a gen, the bezels are bigger and so are the inserts. As a result the hands need to be longer. So these are BUDGET. Parts are sourced from HR, Raffles and Tiger for these builds, the results can be very good but, there is little point saying that gen spec parts don't fit so they are no good. These cases are what they are and can produce a half decent build. Here is my budget build with a silix case http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/172961-silix-6200-budget-build-complete/?hl=%2Bsilix+%2B6200 As for which to use from these two, even though I have used Silix and the results can be ok, I would probably say HR, with HR dial and hands, Raffles insert because if you do the plexi properly I can be made waterproof and the Silix is very very hard to get water tight.

  3. So I was browsing and came across this new limited PAM 604. Limited to 99 pieces, all custom hand engraved. I am absolutely in love with the sunburst dial but I am pretty torn on the engraving. I was just curious everyone else's thoughts on it. Beautiful or ruined?

  4. Just had a quick question for the more seasoned watch replica spotters. Are these two Rolex's real or replica? If they are reps how can you tell?

  5. First one is a rep, because of the m after 300; It´s a BP sub, probably from Trusty or PC when looking at the insert and sel Second is a rep with the datewheel aligned to the left and no metallic paint on the numbers; To improve the "non-spotting" get a very high quality white shirt, best with cufflinks and an expensive tie to go with it, simple solid gold ring on the finger instead of the bracelets.

  10. If you have never done it before, its best left to someone who has, I have done hundreds, so its quite easy for me, the tutorials are about, and really helpful, if you do decide to undertake the job, ensure you have the right tools for everything otherwise you just might screw your watch up.

  11. Puretime is supposed to offer "premium" services, such as credit card/Paypal payment, warranty, returns, live chat,re-ship if seized by Customs,...but at higher prices. At WatchStation, watches are the same, QC are the same but they just offer WU as payment and no warranty.

  14. Cutting the feet of a $1500 dial so that you can Velcro it to a $100 movement that's plopped into a $200 rep case is not smart. Jut buy a few ETA clones that could work for a cal 15xx and drill away with a 1.2-1.3mm bit. Cutting feet on your gen dial is not an option Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
