I've not been here for a while but I wanted to share something I put together recently. It all started when I found this dial on the bay, cheap as chips. I took a gamble and then hunted for some hands and amazingly found the right set a few days later which I snapped up, the hands cost twice as much as the dial but the ball was now well and truly rolling. Gen Tudor prince dial and hands. possibly reference 7909. Then I managed to find a case, after searching for rep options I decided something like a 36mm jmb explorer case would not work as the dial was a tad too small. After making some enquiries I found that an ideal case would be that of an old 34mm airking 5500. So the hunt went on and I found one again on the bay. To my amazement I won the auction which meant the hunt was not on for a gen 5.3mm crown The movement I used was an old ETA 2783 which has the same CP and hour pinion size as the original tudor movement which I would have liked to use but I would have had to trade in a kidney for that. The gen crown arrived, the movement ring has been modified. So with the gen crown fitted I could now put it all together today a gen construction rivet bracelet arrived. AND IT LOOKS AMAZING !!!2 points

Guys, I would be working with two other members to produce the correct spec datewheel for our ROO frankens and rep. Yes, we all know how ugly the JF ROO datewheels are so let's not bash it now. The goal is to supply accurate datewheels, literally scanned and copied from one removed from a gen I own, and then reproduced for the ETA2892 movement (franken) and A7750 movement (factory rep). The date font would be 1:1 and the magnified font size would be correct for both the LWO and A7750 variants. There would be no need for special cyclops to be used with these datewheels to achieve the correct magnification effect. The primary datewheel background color would be off white for the majority of the units and perhaps 10% in black with white numbers. The datewheel for the divers might also be produced. Please stay tuned. I will add pics as I go along. 25/4 Progress update 1: Scans of gen datewheel done and produced in different colors/backgrounds Update 2 May 2016: Transposing of the AP date fonts onto images of ETA datewheels and adjustments made for size, position and spacing completed. Vector image produced. Next update: To produce a prototype Omega datewheel on an ETA datewheel and do the necessary adjustment for size, spacing and positions1 point

Here is the 1016 build I've been agonizing over for a few months now. Not perfect but okay for now. I figure I can make improvements later. Also shown is my new Tudor Sub Clone from Josh. 1016 Specs: JMB case Yuki dial with yellow lume Hands from Ric's watch repair. Relumed by me gen ETA 2824-2 gen crown miltat Horween leather strap from strap code Starting with the assumption that I know these aren't perfect and that I have a pretty thick skin Id love to hear what you would do to improve on these.1 point

I used hands from Rik's place. The flat ones that fit a gen movement. I had to broach the holes to fit. Then i removed all the lume and relumed to match the dial1 point

Well after getting some wrong parts, gotta thank MyMannMatt on several email replies to help me get the correct parts now. Got the gen crown from him, got my gen bezel, gen crystal, gen face all test fitted together. Really getting excited to see it work!! Just waiting on the movement to arrive, but God I miss this watch. With all the new parts I can't wait to see it actually running!! Thanks for the views. Any feedback or suggestions is appreciated!1 point

Hi all folks!!!, this is a brief explanation how I did the rolex no date pic... Exif Info: Focal Length: 70mm Aperture: f/ 8.0 Expo. 1/60 ISO: 320 Lens: Canon EF 24mm-70mm Flash: Canon 580EXII (A manually little touch of flash) The first is to place the objects so they appear attractive in the frame... In this case I used a double exposure, a first photo is the dial with excited lumen, then...without moving anything we do another shot with watch completely illuminated, then with photoshop unite the area with the lumen excited at the completely illuminated watch pic. I hope you enjoyed my explanation, greetings to all! On to pics:1 point

Unless things have changed, Rolex will not service these old watches. They are in the same boat as everyone else, no parts, and even if you find a RSC that has parts and can service the watch, their prices are going to be sky high as well. Also they will not touch anything that is not original, so anything aftermarket will have to be replaced by Rolex. I believe that Freddy gave you some good advice. Prices of anything genuine for the 6542's are going to be sky high. This is simply the result of supply and demand. When the demand exceeds the supply prices go up. Like he said get the movement serviced. Parts are scarce and expensive and a service will keep the movement running a while longer. Another problem is there are not a lot of watchmakers that can work on these movements and have the parts. There are plenty that tell you they can, but they cannot replace worn parts as they don't have a source for them. To be honest, this may be a case of putting the watch up and wearing something else until you can afford to get it done right. Over time, you might be able to buy replacements like the dial and proper hands if you are diligent and keep looking. Once you get the parts, you can send it to a good watchmaker and have the movement serviced and parts installed at the same time. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk1 point

The problem are the price and time, before that I never try to talk with the foreign people like right now what I am doing here. The international sales just tell me what kind of items they want, the amount of the items and the price they can share to me, by my part the factory side need to do the ton of items every day. I have no time to think what's your guys really want, because even right now the order never stop and my factory still need to do the work like "7/11store" ,if my family do not plan live in U.S. and I need to practice writing English. There are some photo for the hand made work, I just have 30 people do this kind of thing, everyone have their own room to do their jobs. The photo someone show form "intime watch" from my factory,no hand made just use laser machine, from nothing to 5000 items finish, just need a week. But do you know how long need to finish a hand made one? and this part for factory Until now I get nothing earn form that part, because the international sales try their best to down my price. so I have to get some other same kind order like cigar knife.1 point

Well guys unlike the other boards we are not nuke happy. A little common sense goes a long way, see a sales post tags not right or missing just do not buy till they get them up. I think you have seen me post in a sales thread "hey ( insert name) get a tagged pic up. ". No drama no power trip just get it posted, no one should be buying till up, aka common sense. I have not run across guys doing it multiple times once they get the hang of how to do it right, if they did I would get more aggressive. Over the years I have seen times of high problems then die down and come back again it is the way of things. ( I did our sales board security long before I was a mod) I surely do not want to be a nuke , ban happy place like some of the other boards and hold myself to a very high burden of proof before blacklisting someone. We are the big boys so no need to run around jumping member with bans and gulags, penalty boxes, time out whatever. If the worse we have is a lot of missing tags at times well so be it that is the price of freedom. I will be the first to admit that sometimes worse things happen and they will, there is no such thing as absolute safety. So everyone must choose there comfort level, draconian control with less risk ( perceived less risk IMHO) or one where you have more freedom and rely on your own wits to guide your actions in regard to safety. I happen to think you guys can handle yourselves well that is why I am here, I like to hang out with smart people.1 point
