It's never been easier to buy an amazing Rep out-of-the-box with just a browser and a PayPal account. The bad news is that it attracts a whole slew of Noobs who pop on the forum, ask "who has the best sub", purchase a rep from a trusted dealer like it was Amazon.com (no qc pics), flame the dealer when the date font is wrong, file a Paypal dispute, get the dealers PayPal account shut down, and leave the rest of us holding the bag. It's always been thus to some extent, but it seems worse now than before. I recently saw a post where a new member bought a dive watch rep from a trusted dealer, went swimming with it, was annoyed to find it wasn't waterproof, and was planning to bring it to Rolex Authorized Dealer for repair! That's an avoidable problem to be sure. Toadtorrent's pinned post "Hey Noob...or not so Noob...Read this Now!" is a fantastic primer on rep watch collecting basics and covers most of the frequently asked questions, but it's clear that many folks don't read it. The basic problem I think is that people get really excited when they find out that incredibly high quality rep watches can be purchased out of the box and they just want to buy "the best XYZ" and move on. They're just not going to read 10 pages of instructions. I was thinking about how best to address the issue and I started thinking about the 10 commandments. I'm not a religious person, nor do I want to discuss religion, but I think there is something to be said for distilling a 1000 page book into 10 basic rules. Everybody has time to read 10 basic rules! I thought it might be interesting to develop a list of just 10 simple rules that any noob can read, and avoid 80% of the problems that Noobs experience (or cause!). I'm still a Noob myself, and I'm far from qualified to create such a list but I thought I'd take a first stab at it. Here's my take on the Replica Watch Collecting 10 Commandments (actually, I have 11 that's I'm trying to pare down). What's missing? What are your Rep 10 Commandments? Never ask who has the best "Submariner, Planet Ocean, *ANYTHING*". If you have to ask, you haven't done enough research. Do not post a thread until you've read "http://www.rwgforum.net/forum/163-introductionrulessupport/ Do not post a question thread without first using the search function. Purchase watches from trusted dealers or accept the risks. Understand that buying a replica watch, even from trusted dealers, is not like buying a watch from Amazon. Understand how and why this true. Get quality control pictures and ask questions before buying a watch, not afterwards. Never file a PayPal dispute without first exhausting every conceivable alternative remedy. Understand why that's imperative. Don't assume that your dive watch rep is waterproof, or that the automatic movement doesn't need servicing out-of-the-box. Never wear your replica watch into an Authentic Dealer, or try to have it repaired by someone who isn't replica-friendly. Never use a member's real name on the forum without written consent. Keep your posts, avatars, and other contributions PG rated. The goal is to find the 10 basic rules that cover 80% of the problems Noobs experience or create. What are yours?1 point

Merry Christmas to all old friends. I'm back but my watches are still the same old. This is the ancient WM9 with a gift gen insert from my pal bklm. Like me, the 16610 never gets old. [/1 point

You can watch the whole thing on Thewatchrepairchanel on YouTube. He does a couple 7750 movement teardowns.1 point

Of a 7750 Valjoux? Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk It's very easy. Unscrew the crown. Then press the button close to the stem, not too deep, just like half a millimeter. You can pull the crown and stem out. Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk To place back just bring the movement in position, don't attach the holding clips to the movement yet. Carefully push the crown in the hole and turn it a bit until you can push it easily further to the point that it's against the bar connected to the button for removing the stem. Push that button and the stem deeper and let the button click back. Now the stem is locked again. Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk1 point

I laid the hands on a stone plate and used a match to age it. Originally I was aging the lume a bit, but this came out as a by product. Just be careful, if you over do it, the gold changes its color. Let me know if you need any further assistance. Btw, your build still kills me... I messaged tonny, but didn't get a reply so far.1 point

Today this one. Amazingly accurate franken from 2005 I think. Asian 7750 still running like a champ.1 point

Hit up kilowattore (sorry if spelled wrong). He aged his pretty nicely imo. I managed to age mine a bit with heat, have a look:1 point

Most if the time it's pretty easy. And goes something like, 1. Remove caseback 2. Remove crown stem 3. Remove the two movement holder tabs securing the movement in the case1 point

I don't know about his movements, but I use all his cases and they're great! Fits gen movement perfectly. I have my watches built and movements serviced elsewhere. Want to Buy: GEN Rolex Movements and/or Franken Sub / GMT / v72 or DW Daytonas!1 point

Welcome to the forum. We are normally a pretty laid back group here, but as you now know a few members have recently been rolled by scammers and we all a bit jumpy. As our esteemed @Legend has said you seem very much like the kind of member we would like to have.1 point

Hi sparky and welcome! I'm willing to assist you to list your watch for sale. I see that you've been polite and pleasant and we need more newbies like you. Good knuckles are hard to find these days! [emoji6] I tread softly along the fine line separating raving insanity and lucid moments of ingenuity. The issue is I've no idea which is which mostly.1 point

Well... I finally took a blade to my 3714... And got the bezel off! No damage thankfully but boy was it tight. Removed the hands and dial and performed the graphite lube mod. Also lubed the jewel that the secs pivot sits in. Now I'm pleased to report that the watch is still running 10 hours later whilst being worn. Something that it never managed before. Fingers crossed that I haven't spoken too soon!1 point
