i agree that a manufacturer produces a tourbillon to show that it can, it is a great acheivement. However there is a manufacturer in Swiss that makes tourbillon's (i can't recall the companies name) and this company supplies movements to some watch houses. Ofcourse the list of companies that receive these movements is a very closely guarded secret.

just got an email from josh saying that the bracelet is definately two pieces per link and it will also fit a gen bracelet.

Bob

so showering and swimming in a back yard pool should be no problem for most stock eta reps?
-
hey focker are you sure you have an accurate link bracelet? i ask this because it has me a little depressed to think that my link may have a poor bracelet.
-
err, does this mean that the Tag is no longer you're favaourite thanks for the reply, it looks to be a solid watch, and whilst i have a strong preference to the gen rolex's, i think this tag rep is every bit as good as the gen. my opinion may change when i handle the watch though, but i'll be sure to post some pics.

Just bought my first rep in years. A blue faced Tag Heuer Link from Josh. Looks to be a good quality rep with the ETA movement. I don't really like Tag's, infact it is one of the last brands of watches that I would buy (gen) because fashion watches aren't my bag. this is a daily beater and i think that the quality would be very similar to the original, using the same movement and all the rest of the parts aren't made in the Tag factory, just like the gen! anyone else have this watch...opinions?

'what mistakes'? you said you have had watches seized by customs in the past and then you go and order a heap of watches in one go! the dealer has no control over customs, and the items you ordered are against US customs laws. how is this the dealers fault? the dealers whom you have dealt with in the past who have looked after you have certainly gone 'above and beyond' however you shouldn't come to expect that kind of generousity.
-
regardless of what happens, i do not see that this is the dealers problem. you obviously know the risks involved as it has happened to you before, and you havn't learnt from you're mistakes. if the dealer failed to send the watches, i could see your point however the dealer has done all that he can.

that maltese cross is very ordinary. i realise that the factories always have to put in a few flaws, but that cross is riduculous. i think the other flaws mentioned are undectable, but an AD would spot this rep at a quick glance, because gens don't have four leaf clovers on the dial!

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Vacheron-Constantin...1QQcmdZViewItem this guys got a good imagination.
-
there would be a couple of factory fitted flaws that seem to be standard on all reps.

just saw this on king's website and it looks pretty good, waiting for a price. can anyone notice any differences compare to the original? here's the picture from the website

well no one actually knows for sure how his name became associated with the Daytona and funnily enough, Paul Newman actually owns one Daytona and it is the screw down pusher version 6263 which is not considered to be a 'Paul Newman'!
-
the variants that are considered by some are as above and also the 6262 and the 6265. now since paul never acually wore a daytona in the movie 'winning' where it is believed the association began, and never owned a daytona until his wife gave him one some years after the 'paul newman' thing became popular, this is all speculation!
-
hi offshore the one and only - went away for a while but now i'm back. tom
-
there are several daytona models that some experts consider to be a 'paul newman' however the 6263 is not one of them!
-
these are all beautiful watches but if you are after a "traditional classic dress watch" the Corum is the only one that really fits that catagory. Simple, plain and thin.
-
man your wrist must be massive, because mine is about 9" and rolex's look fine on me!
-
is there anyone associated with this forum who is in australia that can perform these mods or who would be the best option for me?
-
Thinking about a Pam 111h from eddie as advertised in the dealer section 2 days ago. Does anyone know if this watch will fit an 8.5inch wrist and also what the flaws are, if any? Looks like the movement in the pictures is exact.
-
yes i have now discovered this so i am looking now at the pam111h. what mods can be done.
