  1. I have pretty much the same 7031/2 parts list accumulated. I currently have a DW 7032 and case set and due to the genius construction I will only be able to epoxy the gen crystal in place. Can I assume that the Phong case would be a straight fit for the gen crystal ? Also how much does the case set (I assume you only got the case, back and bezel of Phong) go for (the full case set is listed for >$1,400) ?

  2. But the dial does look good. I'd choose one with a better and more rounded CG lever tip and mod the cp while changing the movement.

You will need to change the case as well. Just have a look at the lug profile and the position of the lug screws and you know why. :bangin: Best go for the 111j case.

Also I have my doubts as to whether the dial is Superlumed...

  3. reps look good but have zero value

I think it's quite the opposite. Unless you are picking up ultra collectible gens, your regular bread-and-butter gens (Omega, Breitling...) will lose you more money than a rep. In fact I have several rep builds which are going up in value. Take an FGD dialed high-end Pre-V built as an example. Would you have expected to fetch well over $1,000 without any gen parts a year or two ago ?

In addition modding your rep is fun and likely to ADD value, instead to depreciate your gen even further...

I am just selling my last gen because to be honest it has not seen any wrist-time in 2 years.

  4. It is bloody murder.

Am considering the new Audi A7 now ... goes for a frigging US250k here ... While in the US it is for about $70k. Sob.

What do you guys need cars for? Thought you could walk from one end to the other in 20 min...

  5. Will do Freddy. Thanks for the recommendation. I was quite surprised that I won it. I was the only one that bid on it. We'll see if it was a good move when I get it.

I was watching the auction as well. I think the reason for the relatively low price was a combination of:

    - undesirable case shape for gen collectors

    - relatively high starting price

    - 726 movement not first choice for hard core rep builders

    - the guy putting a link to yukiwatch on his listing :black_eye:

Nevertheless I was surprised by the low bids as well. Good Score.

  6. Thanks to you guys I am now on the path of a V72 6239...

Whom can I send the bill ?

One thing which bugs me is that most affordable case sets come with the "300 units" bezel, which in reality was only produced in very limited numbers with the first generation Daytonas. Is there any good "200 units" bezel which would fit a DW V72 6239 case ?
