  1. Yes it is! Why would you not change anything on it? I think it could use a GEN crystal and GEN crown. Not sure about the dial yet.

For most people Donerix's 6263 will look as gen as it get's. For the few Daytona fanatics even a gen crystal or crown won't make it appear more gen like as there are too many tells otherwise. Leave the 6263 as is and safe up for the big league if you are so inclined.

  2. I found this gen Rolex bracelet link in my parts box and it really makes me scratch my head. The total width is 14mm, so it should fit a 15mm clasp like on the 78350/19mm - however the middle part is 9mm wide like on a 20mm Submariner bracelet and not 7mm as on the 78350 ? Are there any 19mm bracelets with 9mm core ?

  3. "I think you are missing the point here. The benefit of the yuki 3135 is that gen parts can be used. The ETA clone 3135 has been around for a while, but if you have to clip dial feet and use aftermarket hands why bother?"

The problem is always parts. No parts = a doa movement sooner or later.

Yuki etc 3135 clone parts are n/a. Very few genuine parts will work other than date wheels/dials.

Etaclone parts are n/a and not all genuine Eta parts will work on an Etaclone.

Genuine Eta parts are plentiful and affordable.

Sorry, my comment was towards the now defunct "horologicalconsultant" and his musings (have also been removed).  :inverted:

  4. A lot of the smaller watch brands went out of business in the 70s thanks to the Japanese and their quartz watches. Most of the remaining stock was bought up and put into storage. So although your watch might be from the late 60s, it could still be only worn for a few years. I am having a Breitling Bullhead from the early 70s put together from parts out of their bankruptcy stock - and I'll be the first to wear a 40 year old watch !

Rolex on the other hand will have mostly seen active duty after sale and the condition would reflect this to a point.
