Where did the two "too big" screws come from?
-
Hey PF, I doubt thats the case, as there are plenty of gens on the forums (and I have a few gens - and had some pretty high end gens too), so the rep world has some other mysterious allure......Apologies for visiting this topic again Yeah I agree mr mg. It is amazing the accuracy of reps now adays.....and im sure they will just keep getting better. I guess finance is the major factor here.....as in, you could probably afford to buy ONE gen.....but then there are always more watches that call your name - so I guess the rep world gives you a freedom of choice - and saves you a few pennies in the process. Congrats on your Navi......haha Im always looking at my watches too...... I like the idea of neutral grounds for talking...... Hahaha "SIR YES SIR" - it was my first AD / rep experience (and im definitely NOT a stupid guy).....so I know how to play my cards. I respect the rep industry and would never be in a position to jeapordise it..... Even if they tied me up and tortured me for info hehe. wow - a super hyper franken? Whos got one of those? Thanks bro.

[Review] Rolex Submariner Z-series (BK/WM9 v3 vs Gen)
OSRep replied to unregistered's topic in The Rolex Area
Hey UR! Brilliant comparison of your new V3. Congratulations I have had the same awakening you have re the submariner. It never had an appeal to me....but after having tried one on recently I thought "darn Ive been missing out" - it is THE classic divers sports watch......and extremely professional and elegant! Thanks to your review I cant wait to get mine too hehe. Its a shame about the sheen on the steel.....some say its not a big issue, same say it is! But until the PERFECT rep comes along the WM9 / BK is great it seems. Yup, change that insert and youll have a fantastic watch. ATB. /OS -
Hey Daytona! Congrats on the gen sure is a real beauty! Brilliant to see the rep / gen side by side. The rep is a very good (if it werent sitting next to the gen). The logo and everything on the rep seem a few mm's larger than on the gen. The thing that has always stopped me from getting an AP is definitely the screws in the bezel.......Theyre so clean on the gen "siiiiiiigh". ENjoy your great collection.....

wow, thanks for the replies guys! Great response......and it seems plaifender you are correct - most of us would / do take off their rep before entering the AD which I guess is the right thing to do. The AD I visited didnt stock IWC's so I did contemplate just keeping my watch on...however you just dont know how knowledgable the sales person is. Im not sure what the rules are re reps here in the UK, I dont know whether they confiscate reps here....but im sure its frowned upon! Its a fickle business this rep game - I have so many questions running through my head So why do we wear reps (given that we have to wear them "undercover")? Is it because we cant afford gens? Is it because you love watches, they are affordable and you can have more than one? Does it give you a feeling of higher status? I mean, the Slevin is my first rep - and im impressed - so why shouldnt I be able to show it off right? Thanks guys. / OS

best hassle free way to send rep watch ....London to US
OSRep replied to smilyize's topic in General Discussion
Airsure and International Signed For! Never had any issues. Takes over a week though......Higher postage options available are Parcelforce...but very expensive. -
you want to go into an AD, but you've got your rep on your wrist....... Right, hi everyone! Ive tried to do a search to see if theres a topic similar to do this (but im either blind, im too stupid to use the search or the topic doesnt exist - im hoping the latter) So this is what made me post this topic; I was at my local shopping "mall" / centre yesterday - and when im out I always have to go into every watch store I pass. The difference is this time I had my Slevin on. Now I passed one AD (who stocks extremely high end watches), and I have NEVER tried a R***x on, so when I saw the Subs and GMTIIC in the window my heart leapt. Now its only because I have a rep Sub on order that I really wanted to see what it looked like in person, how it felt and looked on the wrist. So, I stepped in.....warily......and I just had this overwhelming lack of confidence in my Slevin and kept thinking "I hope noones looking at my watch"...... But anyway, the asst. manager saw me looking at the rollies and came rushing over and I thought "S**t" (excuse my french) - no time for evasive manoeuvers. So I told him i'd like to look at the subs (V serial and an LV) - he also showed me the blue ceramic / white gold sub (which is GORGEOUS) and a GMTIIC. Luckily he didnt ask what I was wearing (which they normally ask)......so when he went to get the watches I quickly took my Slevin off and put it in my coat pocket........ Ofcourse, I know that going into AD's with reps is a BIG NO NO, so I just wanted to know what the majority of you guys here do when wanting going to an AD (IF you go into an AD with your rep)? How confident are you with your watch? Thanks, have a brill weekend. OS PS: Theres nothing like a gen Rollie - so so beautiful!

I hear you brother....... And a huge congrats on the BP's and straps elisiX - truly beautiful!

OSRep replied to apollo22's topic in The Audemars Piguet Area
Cheers apollo! Shes still very beautiful.....Nice background information too - I kept forgetting to google what Orchard Road was, but now I know. Enjoy your watch mate. -
Ok now youre just showing off haha! Absolutely brilliant.
-
Well ill be darned! Thanks for that SC. I always thought the bezels were part of the case......So its possible to buy bezels separately for certain PAM models?
-
Going with my weekend monster.....Edox Chrono Big Date
-
No worries Lani. PAM's confuse me - are the bezels not part of the case? How do you get a Ti case with SS bezel?
-
Everyones said it all, but WOW - a huge pat on the back buddy. Thats one hell of PAM.......The dial is just the . Nice set up too, you did all the work yourself?
-
Its a "black rubberclad bezel" Congrats Apollo, a stunning AP! Great colour combination.
-
Congrats on your V3 buddy. Great thing with WM9 watches is that you can mod it with gen parts, so I guess a gen insert would get rid of the first tell. You could always get a crystal next. I guess with a little TLC the steel can be improved slightly - a bit of a soak, oiling and gentle polish Enjoy your Sub in good health mate.
-
Beautiful Lani! Theres always something to learn in every one of your threads. Loving the contrast of the polished bezel, how did you protect it from being oxidised? Thanks bro.
-
Hey Lani bro. I think everyones said it all. You shouldnt have problems shipping to the EU. Most of my watches coming from CONUS / Asia have always been shipped USPS / FedEx. Have had parcels sent as a "gift" and as a "watch returned from service" without any issues. Now the value s upto the buyer I guess.....if the watch is valuable then insurance is advisable (which means you cant alter the value on customs form).....If the value is VERY low (say below $50) then I usually never received a VAT invoice......Ask the buyer whats preferable to them.

Review Chopards Mille Miglia Gran Turismo XL RG
OSRep replied to DZmaster's topic in Other Brands Area
Hi DZ! One of my favourite dials. As Lani said, the RG really makes it POP! Beautiful. Enjoy it. -
That was a brilliant read, thanks Lani once again! I love the colour of the case(s)......When I get a PAM I will definitely try this method out.....
-
Hey paragon, sorry to hear about your gen! For a little more than $500 you could create another franken UPO, so I guess that says alot! But I guess you cant really leave the Co-Axial for dead.....Long live the UPO!
-
Hey jmarin! I can not add to all the great things which have been said about WM9/BK watches. So congrats on your V3 mate. Looks stunning, even wrapped in plastic......
