  1. Thunder bolt
  2. + 1 - Had a "EMV001" I think that was the model......Enzo is a great guy. He was planning a GMT, kept tabs on it for a long time but it didnt develop (not sure if hes now finished the project).....
  3. It was definitely a Rollie. But RWG has opened my eyes...........
  4. "in the 70s, due to the quartz revolution, most mechanical watch manufacturers were forced to close down. Former Leon Breitling Company was no exception. Mr. Wajs bought up much of the Breitling company's stock for the aviation models such as the Navitimer. Mr Wajs began producing Aviation watches using Breitling cases and the same calibre movements used in Breitling watches. These Aviation watches are now prized amongst collectors. When Breitling was liquidated, Mr Wajs bought most of the parts, machines and designs. The parts between the Breitling and Aviation series are interchangeable. And that is why Aviation watches are identical in terms of size, case, dial, hands and movements to the original Breitling produced before 1980" Aviation
  5. @ "1976": Thanks for the input mate.......well you see thats the reason I started this thread.....to see what the AR is like. @ "vlydog": Good idea - forgot concepta gets alot of work done with Domi. The 3717 in that link looks really good....AR's pretty good too. Thanks. @ "PeteM": thats just cheeky!!! I wasnt throwing a tantrum - just trying to keep this ON TOPIC (IN CAPS) :p
  6. HAHA NO - GO AWAY! Just kidding......Looks great!!
  7. Hey pete, yes I know, I have seen that thread - but as metaljesus says below, there arent many examples. HEY GUYYYYSSSSSS I DONT THINK WE ARE GETTING THE GIST OF THIS THREAD. THIS IS NOT A DEBATE ABOUT COST / A COMPARISON TO CHIEFS AMAZING AR / OR CUSTOMS ISSUES!! I STARTED THIS TO SEE EXAMPLES OF DOMIS WORK (SPECIFICALLY AR AND LUME) ONLY BECAUSE HE IS A REPUTABLE MODDER WITHIN THE EU, AND AS A MATTER OF CONVENIENCE GETTING ALL THE WORK DONE WITH DOMI (I.E. IN ONE LOCATION) THANK YOU
  8. WOW Frankie - well chosen pieces! Beautiful collection my friend. But come on....."complete"??? hehe.....there so much more Enjoy all of them in great health..... /OS
  9. Hi everyone. Hope youre all well. I was just thinking about modding within the EU (ofcourse Domi / Domenico) comes up most often. Basically instead of having to ship the watch off to various different destinations (cost time and money) you could get all the work done (lume, AR, movement service / swap etc) in one location. I know we have the great Chief / Vac and The Zigmeister - but they have extremely busy schedules and are across the big pond...... So if anyones had work done within the EU (especially by Domenico / Domi) then please post here.......ESPECIALLY AR and possibly lume work. Thanks in advance and best wishes. OS
  10. Some real beauties guys! Heres mine (sorry for crappy pic)....all stock for the moment! Been waiting for an essential component for a while....hopefully be here sooooooooon!
  11. Great thread and read WnR! I think most points have been covered. TBH I used to be one of those "reps? ooooo no Id never wear a rep" kinda guy, and then I became broke (just kidding).......Ive come to really admire the rep world. Ive had many gens - and tbh I could never justify the money I spent on them - so I got bored of them easily and quickly...... Buying a gen was / is simple and its always nearly perfect. Thats what makes reps so much more fun. I love the fact that you can buy a rep and then "kit it out" so to speak. Source the parts necessary to make it as perfect as possible. Which ofcourse is so much more rewarding. And ofcourse I think you rarely go over the 1K price point (generally speaking - ofcourse modding a PAM properly, for eg, will cost you quite a bit)....... Not sure how much money comes into this though. I guess if you could afford to buy gens and have 1000's of dollars sitting in a watchbox without having to worry about food for the next few months then buying gens is justifiable. DOnt forget their prices result from marketing, advertising, branding, fancy watch cases, hats / jackets / key chains etc (ofcourse quality and reliability too), so thats what youre basically paying for. There was a thread here about a member whos Gen PO had stopped working and yet his trusty UPO was ticking strong..... Reps are cool, fun, "affordable" :thumbsupsmileyanim:
  12. Thanks Denz. Hahaha yeah he is.....he has always liked PAM's so I was expecting him to ask me for it! DSN has been extremely helpful - hes a great dealer. Yeah I find most PAM's a little bit plain - so I prefer the funky ones (complications / different colour / textured dials etc etc).....Im sure you will be growing your PAM collection slowly! I know Val!! Well at least theres always a package arriving frequently haha. Thanks buddy, the watch is great.....the dial visually is very close to the gen.........Ill take wristies when I get the replacement!! *fingers crossed*.
  13. Congrats to you Daniel on winning the contest AND designing your own strap! Great colour, and like PeteM said it would look awesome on a PVD PAM!
  14. Time waits for no man........Unless that man is Chuck Norris
  15. Superman wears Chuck Norris's pyjamas to bed...... .
  16. Thanks MeneM. I have no idea about new crystals with DSN - are you talking DSN or do you mean Sead?
  17. Already done Drulee Have asked him to send me one with the 091 hands. He said he'll see what he can do haha. Please post pics when you finish transplanting to a SS brushed case, would love to see it These dials are very beautiful Pete (well i think so). Im sure the gens are a world of difference, but DSN's arent bad either
  18. Hey fellow RWG'ers! Hope youre all well as always. Anyway this ones going to be quick and sweet (FOR NOW) - so you can breath a sigh of relief hehe. Well I recently bought a DSN 091....but my best friend is now enjoying it. I was impressed with DSN's quality and ordered his 086 (again, I just LOVE those "anthracite" dials). Anyway, I received it a few days ago, and was balled over by the quality once again. UNFORTUNATELY when I went to wind the watch the rotor started spinning like crazy - something I had never experienced with any watch before!! And ofcourse it definitely not right. So I did a bit of research and found out its probably the "reverse wheel click spring" is probably defective (according to Zig). Which means you should not wind the watch and it needs a service - which sucks. But anyway shot DSN an email and he said he will replace it straight away.......So its currently on its way back. However I took a few pics of the watch anyway (its the first thing I do) A few things to note about this model: 1) The DSN version is basically "wrong" out of the box. The genuine 086 is a brushed SS case / bezel / CG etc. The DSN is in Titanium (and I have NO idea why)......But I still LOVE IT and its a stunning piece. 2) The dial is EXTREMELY well replicated as far as I can tell. It changes colour in different light - from dark slate grey, to silverish, to champagne....very sexy. The Lume / markers and print are all clean and well printed. Just one marker is a little short (will address when I get the replacement) 3) The hands are wrong too. The ones on the DSN are smooth SS. The gen seems to use a "frosted" finish on the hands. 4) The caseback is wrong (not only because its Titanium) but also has the "OP" arrow logo....... Anyway this thread was just to say that apart from the above "flaws" DSN's 086 is a great looking watch, very well made and oozes quality......And the pics below will hopefully convey this. Now I just have to wait for my replacement/exchange  Enjoy. Best wishes. Comments welcome!
  19. Hey Val!! You know I love this 164 So this is pure temptation. Its a beautiful watch indeed, I love the Arabic markers around the dial......Enjoy it in great health
  20. Hey By-Tor, thought something smelt fishy around here......haha sorry just had to Big congrats on one of your favourite watches.....Look forward to your pics / comparison / review. Enjoy it thoroughly
  21. Send a watchmaker, by air, to your home, to change the bezel?? Im sorry but thats just not good enough!! :bangin: (sarcasm btw) I like the way JC says "sorry but can not offer a better solution"......I wonder what he WOULD offer if he could...... Brilliant after sales service.
  22. Plai - congrats on the big 1K plus!! Its a major achievement! You put it very nicely too - this is a community with connections all over the world, and you can pretty much get anything done here (except boob jobs) Look forward to your 5K post now. Keep it up buddy.
  23. Blue blue blue, my favourite. That will be a gorgeous watch once finished. Congrats Nik PS: im still waiting......hehe
  24. Hey Frankie, congratulations on the Slevin! Looks beautiful.....Chiefs AR is amazing hey!? How about a Vac lumeshot?? I was contemplating the bezel lume as well - as you said in some photos it looks a little heavy......hmmm. Ive been waiting for a vital comoponent to arrive so I can start modding my Slevin, but im losing interest......ugh! Enjoy it!
  25. Brilliant write up of a very sexy watch! Shame these arent more popular. Love the case on the Ferraris, very comfortable and looks great on the wrist. Wear yours in great health.......An old friend says hi
