Its Friday, and Im feeling BLUE (in a great way).......
-
Its ALOT less flashy Chief - mainly all brushed surfaces with matt black dial etc.....But if youre looking for a cool tool watch then this is the way to go...... HOWEVER, before you plunge for a Helson, check out Zenton watches........VERY similar design but I personally like them better......

Congrats Red, stick around

Ive had two.........quite nice watches!....Well made, very hefty, lume is amazing, and mesh is very comfy!! At the time only the Miyota was available, but I think Peter has brought out an ETA version.....There are quite a few watch manufacturers with the a similar look and spec>>>>>>

I had a few responses (some with Gen / Rep Pro II's and some with Gen Pro I's.........Will send you a PM!

Thanks Blackbard! Im guessing youre the man with the "nice!" straps? Have anything cool for this puppy?

Tourby watches do some nice straps: Straps

Thanks Denzo! It will be nice to see the white dial version too! The bracelet should be on its way now then this watch will be fully blinged out!!! Thanks for the compliments, but they are rushed photos......I need to get a nice SLR with a macro lense soon!

Hahaha that was quick Deniz! Yes I totally see your point of view! Funnily enough the spacing is more prominent on the white dial compared to the blue and black dial versions: Yes, ive been looking at gen photos and theres definitely a distinction between the white dial and blue/black dials. Im guessing it was an intentional design feature to make the white stand out more..... Funny this........Anybody know the reasons?

Cheers Denzo! Thanks for your support throughout this purchase hehe Well hopefully I have given you a taste of what is to come soon.............

Hey guys, hope everyones well. Its been a while since I posted a new watch, so im excited Heres my latest pick up: Breitling Super Avenger with Genuine blue batons dial (I knew there was a reason I loved blue so much). Picked it up as a private sale from a member. This wont be a review (as I havnt handled a gen long enough to compare), but ill give a few personal impressions.....and some photos! First Impressions: HUGE and HEAVY!! The Super Avenger measures in at 48.4mm in case diameter and 18.6mm in width, so yeah its a very big watch and definitely isnt shy on the wrist. I weighed it and its weighing in at 160grams, on the B'ling website it says 153.3grams (not sure whether this takes into account a strap or not?). I have measured it and the measurements are pretty spot on to the gen! These specs surprisingly dont make the SA uncomfortable to wear.....im actually loving it.....doesnt feel top heavy at all. Secondly: BLING BLING!!! Most of the watch case / parts of the bezel / sticks on the dial are highly polished. The dial catches the light in a fantastic way - the Breitling logo, stick markers, hands and sub-dial outer rings all shine when catching the light. In terms of accuracy to the gen - im no expert. All I can say is "I cant believe this is a rep". My one has a gen blue dial installed so theres no issue there. I know the major flaw with the rep dial is that the batons are one solid piece whereas they are separate on the gen - im not sure how big a major tell this is (as the gap between the pieces is very small.....). AR is quite good too, sometimes the crystal seems to have disappeared, sometimes you get a nice blue / light purply hue (is it the same on a gen?) The watch came with a stock leather strap (which the seller kindly "threw in"), however, im expecting to strap this puppy to a rep OR and a Gen Pro II bracelet soon The watch houses an A7750 movement which has supposedly been serviced. I can not hear the rotor (very lightly at times), the crown unscrews nicely and the date / time set smoothly! One thing I can notice though is that the date sits slightly to the left side of the date window - dont know why? Just by looking at photos of genuine SA's on the net I can safely say that the Rep appears to be well replicated. I think on the V3 SA's the chrono pushers are slightly longer - this V2 case seems spot on.......... Anyway, a few pics! If anyone has anything to add then please do.........(except for comments about hairy wrist shots - sorry about that!) Regards OS Wristies, might give you an indication of size (I have a 6.8" wrist)

Congratulations on the DSSD - I take it this is the latest / newest / most upgraded model from ETZ? Thanks for taking the time to write your thoughts about the watch. Regards

Yeah I did ask him if he could put together a custom one (but he said he wont mix the SS with Titanium parts - which is fair enough)......I had a bit of trouble looking for a brushed SS bezel, so I lost interest Umm well, the hour markers (the titanium ones) were irregularly placed i.e. some were close to the lume dots, and some were not......which bugged me alot (because that could be a great rep)....

 I wonder if George has read this?..........

Hey FROGMAN - absolutely brilliant review.......thank you for taking the time and effort to write it up! The watch looks like a beauty! Also great job Francisco and Gran on adding to the value of this thread Shame about the sunken date wheel......but as they say "where theres a sunken date will, theres a way". Lots of information for consideration before choosing this great looking watch.

Drulee thanks for the update I no longer have the 091 (due to the markers on the dial + as you say there are a few SS parts together with the Ti)..... Im keeping an eye out for a more accurate version of this beautiful rep though. Regards

Thanks for chiming in Kevin. Well if you feel like keeping in then thats what you should do....... Enjoy it for a while.....
