  1. The diamond bezel alone would cost 3k and as Freddy said everything would be white gold or platinum.

The diamonds can be tested easy with a diamond wand, gold asnd platinum are heavier then any rep.

As for the watch no matter how good a Rolex looks - you have to see the movement and the serial number to compare to the published list.

    Just my 3c...

  2. This thread has to be one of my all-time favorite reads on RWG. Man, and I thought I was a Bond nut. Great deduction from TeeJay on Bond's watch from the novels.

Yes thanks TeeJay - I agree this is a great thread for Bondaholics

Here is one I just got from Silix with a rivet bracelet added:

  3. Every rep Triplock I have seen looks exactly like this 1 does. The biggest giveaway are the wide, flattened dots.

Ubi posted a set of pictures comparing gen & rep Triplock crowns early last year (or maybe the year before). It is worth searching out.

BTW - did they use triplock crowns on early Daytonas? Wasn't it the crown with the underline that was used?

  4. As long as the lenses are plastic they will not let any UV light through, that is just the nature of plexiglas. For all you watch guys: that is also the reason why UV glue will not work with plastic crystals - the UV light to harden the glue does not go through the crystal.

  5. Well - I see lots of people with real nice watches when travelling. If you want to see quantity go to Vegas or Waikiki, even in the plane people are flaunting it.

But I also see the occasional University Lab student with the gold Daytona - maybe he has rich parents. Or another Lab guy has a nice Submariner - maybe he saved all year for it, who knows. I always give people the benefit of the doubt and you hardly will get a close enough look to be certain its a rep...and never ask unless you know them!

    -_-

  6. Life has really kicked you in the balls. I wish you all the best. It takes a lot of guts to write what you just did. I hope it all works out and you have a better year.

    Now about your suppliers.....

Totally agree and I hope you will now see better times and you and your family will get better. Remember always - in life when it went down like for you, there is a big happy up just around the corner. :)

  7. I suppose the one "benefit" though is its easier to swap the movement over to a swiss one as the hand sizes will all be correct.

Totally agree with that - why on earth did they have to change the hand sizes on the 28,800? It would be the perfect movement otherwise.

But for quality - the later 21,600 are just as well made as the 28,800 and everything fits!

  8. My understanding is the dg2813 is the "eta 2824" if so then it would probably not be it as the ones I have seen (watches) with automatic movements do have the "gmt" hand so I would guess it would be the 2836-2 variant.

That said I would assume as long as the movement I want use is thinner than the one that came it I can space the movement to get the proper fit.

if my thought process is wrong - please feel free to say so and point me down the right path

If you want the same movement with GMT hand try ebay Item: 130202194573 same size as the DG2813 but with Gmt hand

  9. As convincing as a Spaniard-Swede with rep factory connections in Sweden but no individual watch photos can ever sound!

Well - as you can read on the scam thread - the Admin of RG still refuses to shut him down. They say he will sort it all out!

So he must have some powers of convincing people he is for real.

  10. Sounds like a second ID, Surpur.

As a complete aside, why would anyone buy a watch from someone called "Crippler"?

Other IDs I wouldn't buy from:

    - Clobberer

    - Smasher

    - Grabber

    - Raper

    - Tickler

And also "Chuckles", but that's just me.

Very valid points Victoria, but I was trying to buy CN movements and he (Crippler - it does sound funny does it?) sounded convincing with his factory connection. Try to find a good deal on movements nowadays and you try anything ...

  11. Evergreen is still a new arrival according to his profile, even though he joined here an on RG almost a year ago.

He had zero posts on both forums until last week, when he posted something about giving out information about Crippler. (see scam warning post)

He send me several PM's here and on RG asking my opinions about Crippler and what I ordered???

Since he offered it, I PM'd him about the information about Crippler that he said he had - he never answered.

Has anybody have similar experiences with this member?

And - who are You Evergeen?

  12. I sent an email to the repgeek admin about crippler and his scam, and mentioned that he should be banned. here is what they said

" Thank you for your concern. We were told that cripples is going to take

    vare of all orders. "

Well that would really be amazing after all this time. Lets hope so...

BTW I did start that thread on repgeek back up also, because I was worried that all his postings are still there.
