  1. Got a reply back from MAC, sadly he doesnt have any black straps with red stitching. So I ended up ordering one of the: "Aviator Pro waterproof leather watchstrap" (link above)
  2. I have to agree 200%. Mac is a true gentleman when it comes to customer service. A couple of weeks ago I had ordered a black aligator strap from him for my IWC 3717. Accidently he sent me a brown one. To recitfy this he sent me another black strap FREE. Kinda good will gesture, now I have choice of brown and black.. hehe.. now thats what I acll service. I had a look at his site, although he has a lot of 24/22 straps, he doesnt appear to have a black strap with red stitching. Perhaps I will e-mail him ans ask if its possible to get one in red stiching.. here are a few of the ones that I liked from his site: BOB Calf Strap for Panerai, black, 24/22 mm BOB Ostrich Strap for Panerai, black, 24/22 mm BOB Sportivo Genuine Shark Strap for Panerai, black, 24/22 mm BOB Vintage Calf for Panerai Deployment Clasp, black, 24/22 mm
  3. @ ajoesmith: thanks mate, your watch combo looks really nice, its kinda inspired me to look into different leather strap combos as well.. here is the kinda thing I am thinking of doing: Spike's watch Looking around on various different strap websites, I found these 2 Aviator Pro waterproof leather watchstrap and 'Pilot II' 24mm leather watchstrap Although both straps are available in 24mm (at lug), the website does not state the width of the deployant end. is it normally 22mm? ideally i want to use the chopard deployant!!
  4. woohoo.. PT comes through again with the goods.. I have to say, the watch looks much better in real life than it does in the pics. I am very happy about this purchase. I love the clean - minimalistic yet macho look. Will upload some pics soon enough for sure. Anyone know of a good leather strap for this? i think the width is something odd like 23mm lug and 22mm deployant.. Any ideas?
  5. how about these ?

  7. woohoo.. ordered from PT, it should be here in a couple of weeks. thanks again for helping me guys
  8. haha.. it was interesting indeed. We got talking about reps and needless to say she was a newbie like myself to the rep world. RWG might have a new member joining the family.. hehe Personally, I try to avoid reps that are wayyyy over my wage bracket, not that I would ever try to pass a fake as an original. Just I dont wanna be spotted wearing a "fake". I guess a lot of this is down to the sector we work in. At my workplace I have come across a lot of people who do not wear a watch cause they "dont need it", they use the time on the computer (taskbar) and when not at work they use their beloved mobile phone as a time telling device and when at home they have the teletext ofcourse.. :-| Being able to afford a
  9. i guess my options are limited to PAM048, are there any reviews of this? Has anyone at RWG bought one of these? Any input on the build quality etc?
  10. Hiya guys, I have been looking at this brand from "over the fence" and initially it striked me as too big and chunky. Could somoene please suggest a PAM with the following cirteria: good quality near original rep Budget price AR Simple (no chrono) Small (~42mm) Just to give you an idea of my taste in watches, my current watches are IWC 3717, Chopard GT XL (on order), kalashnikov 2282, TAG Carerra Chrono. So as you can see, I like sort of average sized watches.. Any suggestions please?
  11. just asked and yes it is a rep of Panerai Submersible 1973. The subdial with red ring at 6'O clock is the date
  12. Hiya Guys and Girls, I just spoted someone at my work wearing a PAM. This is the first time I have come across such a thing.. LOL. Perhaps in the past I didnt know enough about watches to care.. Here is what it looks like: around 44-48mm black dial A subdial at 6, this subdial has a red ring around it what appeared to be AR green numbers green hands good finish I only got a glance, but will try to find out more. Been looking around at the official site and I didnt see any watches that have a red ring around the 6'o clock subdial... Sorry I cant provide a pic, anyone know what this PAM could be? Cheers D
  13. guys, thanks for all your input, I think I will get the 21J version and save up more money for another rep. Has anyone from UK ordered from overseas? PT and Narikaa currently dont have the model in stock. Can someone recommend alternative solution? Is it safe to order from overseas? I was looking at this version: http://www.pc-80108.com/cp10035-gran-touri...ted-p-2367.html At least it seems to have the "Chronometer" written out in full. So I need some help, is it too much hassle to order from overseas? Anyone know what sort of quality is the watch at the above link? Cheers again for your input.
  14. hehe, its all very strange, none of the G10 movements match the spec of this watch. I guess it ads to the mystery of it all. None the less I am very happy with it.. :-)
  15. mate, did you get the 7750 or 21J version from PT?
  16. I really love the cult status that this watch carries, I am not bothered if people "WOW" the brand, it was all about the look of this watch that sold it for me. I guess this is my first gen Swiss watch and I am really pleased with the functionality. Quickly it has replaced my cheap quartz Tag Carera and has become an addition to the daily beater family. And oh.. THE LUME. how I love it when I get back from lunch and the watch nicely glows away in the office.. hehe.. I am still shocked that a quartz watch can do a sweeping movement. I was looking around on the ETA website but didnt see G10 movements with the DAY functionality. Is this a "hack" or movements can generally be adapted this way?
  17. thanks everyone for their input on this. I have come to like the black version quite a bit. I love the simplicity of the dial. I was thinking on getting the cheaper 21J movement as I intend to use it as one of my daily beaters and seeing as this is the 3rd purchase of the month, my budget is also limited. Any comments on 21J movement in this watch or should I save up a bit more and go for the more expensive 7750 version. I contacted PT and he has a 7750 version but is able to source the cheaper 21J as well. I contacted Narikaa as well and same goes for him too. What do you guys think?
  18. I guess that is a tough question to answer as I have only seen posts and reviews where people had purchased from PT. Since I didnt want the hassle of overseas shipping and the customs problems etc - for me it was a done deal with PT, reviews said PT, location said PT and PT it was. Didnt regret the descission as he is a pleasure to deal with and the quality of the watch was mindblowing.
  19. Hiya, I think I am getting the itch again to buy my third watch this month and decided not to spend a fortune on it. Does anyone have an opinion about: Chopard Milgia Gran Turismo XL http://www.silix-prime.com/product.asp?id=1831 I am in UK and would ideally like to buy it from a UK dealer, any recommendations? Also please share your reviews about this watch. Thanks D
  20. thanks for the pointers guys. I will keep all the info in mind to extend the life of my 3717. All of you have been most helpful, patient and kind, so thank you again.. :-)
  21. Can anyone give me any pointers as to how to care for and operate this watch? Is there an "instruction manual" for asian 7750 or IWC 3717? Sorry if this sounds stupid question, seeing as this is my first automatic watch, I would rather ask than break my "precious"
  22. Thanks mate, I think the itch to get another watch is still there. The next one is a little tough one as I am not a fan of Rolex/Omega/Panerai... I often feel inspired by the varied collections of members here (pix, pug etc).. So here are a few I saw in other threads that I quite like: Pix's IWC skeleton Portuguese Pug's Breguet 5907
  23. Hiya, I received my Kalashnikov Justice AK-2282.02 from Pix, the watch is beautiful and well maintained by Pix. Here are some details: - mineral glass - diameter without crown 38 mm / with crown = 40 mm - height (lugs to lugs) : 45 mm - lugs width : 20 mm - superluminova C1 (all white) - movement : Quartz ETA G10 - Swiss made - water resistant 10 ATM Here are some pics (courtesy of Pix), I will upload my pics as soon as I get my camera etc sorted out... Any info on the G10 movement is most welcomed.. Thanks
  24. hello all, I received the watch from PT in perfect condition it arrived on friday but I wasnt in the office. I hate to have missed spending the weekend playing around with it. None the less it cheered up my monday morning to see a package from PT sitting at my desk. I loved it from the moment I opened the packaging. It arrived in under 3 weeks after PT had finished doing a QC check. The communication with PT was a pleasure. Polite and Prompt (PT-PP). The quality is nothing short of what has been described in various reviews (scoob and Pug). I will upload pics once I have the camera and kit sorted out.
  25. hello all, I received the watch from Pix in perfect condition, I loved it from the moment I opened the box. It arrived in under a week and Pix was a real gentleman (throwing in an extra *free* strap).. I love the way the chrono has almost a sweeping movement (swiss ETA G10), I wasnt aware the Quartz movements could sweep. Anyone got any info on this? @kuarup - buddy could you do me a massive favour, if you have the manual for this watch, do you mind if I ask you for some pics/scans of it? I will upload pics once I have the camera and kit sorted out. some pics in this thread
