  1. Bottom is gen, the one on ammo strap. The other with a gen strap is Agus/EL/HR/Homer ultimate. Actually, even if if you don't know cases the crystal gives away the gen as well.
  2. FGD, Sergeant_at_Arms has the right T hands, I'll PM him for you on the geek.
  3. T, Nah, you're cool with DSN's C1 hands. You have to draw the line somewhere, else you're never going to own a watch you love. We are extremely lucky to be able to purchase these examples of true craftsmanship.
  4. FGD, I'm familiar with the fact that there is a difference in color between the hands and the dial in PreA watches as well as other Vendome models with Tritium treated luminous compound. However, the Non Matching term as coined by D.Grandry (along with others like PreV and PreA) only applies to the "unlucky" PreV batch of 90 watches where the reactive varnish has caused accelerated aging of the luminous compound, and as a byproduct a beautiful amber color of the dial indexes. There is a discussion on Paneristi where Mr.Grandry has laid down the law so to speak with respect to this phenomena. I can link it for those interested. There have been discussions regarding vendome watches exhibiting a similar effect but nobody has come up with a fitting term, "differently patinaed" and others have been suggested.
  5. Also, if you want to be a true purist there is no such thing as "non matching" in PreA. That term is specifically reserved for the 90 units of early PreV 201|202|203/A that received the reactive lacquer formulation over the dial indeces. The difference in dial and hand color of "T-" and "T" vendome PreA, A and later production years is due to the binding compound, differences in the method of application of compound to dial vs hands, environmental factors as well as PSC intervention to replace hands with badly corroded and crumbling compound with NOS hands.
  6. ATWR is partially correct, this is not only the case with PreV & PreA watches. A and Bt transitional series of manual winds exhibit this effect. PreV PreA A-Bt
  7. Phenomenal pieces, FGD, congratulations! What do you mean by: " B 1176 Solid Case back (not totally incorrect )" ?
  8. Really good looking case on that one, T, I'm jealous If I could be sure I'd get a case like that from DSN today I'd grab it and turn it into an absolute Ti grail. I personally think if you only own one Ti it has to be this one: PreA T-SWISS-T dialed PAM00040B This will of course require an upcoming and utterly brilliant FGD PreA marina dial and a custom Ti caseback from Jakob. There's only about 5 of these watches that have been accounted for.
  9. T, Is this his current offering of 177 or an older model?
  10. I'm sorry to hear that, Marcus, take all the time you need, family before everything else! All the best to you and yours
  11. Shultz, 1337 matriculation# on that PAM02Bt has got to be the coolest one i've seen to date... also, PreA serial run ends with 971700 AFAIK
  12. Marcus, Are you taking pre-orders and what's the procedure if there is one? I recon some people have already paid for theirs somehow. I'd like to reserve mine but you're not replying to your PMs. Please advise, Thanks
  13. Thanks for the update, take your time but please don't forget to update us on the progress
  14. dvn if and when the crowns are available go for the shallow dish with a .9mm tap unless you have a JF or gen crownguard. If you have a gen or JF crownguard get the deep dish one w/ .9mm tap
  15. The movement from ofrei comes with a stock ETA datewheel which is incorrect for Panerai. You need a PAM rep datewheel - a datewheel with the right font family and boldness to help the dreadful optics of replicas. Leo and Lello are the only DW makers I'm aware of that made 2836/289x DW, however Lello DW hasn't been available for a very long time and Leo DW has a wait list on RG. It took me about 2 months between signup and delivery because many people want these for DSN 27/28/57 and 63's. You will also need a replacement cyclops which to my knowledge has not been produced for at least a year.
  16. if the 63 you're referring to is an eta2836-2 based model then the movement ring will work for eta2893 as well as they're the same ligne. also, last i checked ofrei had 2893 in stock @$212. get a gmt hand or the whole stack for eta2893 from DSN, and you're in business. then ofcourse you need to address the datewheel, cyclops, lume and crown.
  17. An update would be most welcome since it's coming up on a month since the last OP post in this thread.
  18. Some people are already getting theirs, post pics guys!
  19. 28A is an acquired taste, D. You sell it now and you're going to want it back a year from now when DSN no longer has 9040 modules - you'll end up paying high $$$
  20. Thank you, I couldn't stand DSN's CG so I took all my rep CGs I had and swapped levers and housings until I found a combination that would: - Lock the T48 deep crown (it's 5ATM water tight now) - Allowed enough room in the cutout for the crown to be fully extended for time changing - Since it was a mish-mash I needed the lever that did not require the outside curve to be shaped I still had to thin the inside curve of the lever and shorten and bend the tip a little, rebrush and do the pin mod etc.
  21. If I get a gen one I might sell it It took a long time to get this one right.
  22. Unfortunately it looks like some of my early pics didn't survive the move from villagephotos.. I now wear the watch on gen A-D series rubber just like Mickey so I snapped some quick shots today:
