  1. I hope this will get answered since i just bought one. I understand that you take more than just the rotor off to make it wind like a manual watch. Maybe a couple of the auto winding gears?

Edit: Thank you Freddy. We were both typing at the same time, I believe.

  2. Great posts guys... now I have a slightly different question, same topic:

What about removing a tube that has threads on the inside? My Doxa screws down watertight but the outer surface of the tube is smooth, with wear marks from an o-ring working against it. I can't think of how to unscrew it without messing up the inner threads?

    Ideas?

Find a nut and bolt the same size. Screw in the bolt (or screw) into the tube then tighten the nut real tight and back out the nut and bolt.

  3. They look superb. After a dew purchases of Omega reps, I am now considering the purchase of a Rolex like yours -or even three!.

Could you please tell us where you got those jewels? If not in a post, in a PM. I appreciate your advice, since you have run a few more miles than myself in the Rolex world and probably in the rep world in general.

Thanks and, once more, enjoy those three outstanding watches. They are awesome,

The cases are off eBay from a couple of different sellers. The crystals and hands are from Clarke (Ebay). Movement holders from Stilty, who was an immense help on these. Various movements, buckles and straps and other parts collected over time.

In the over all scheme of things, I'm still a rookie at this. But I'm pretty proud of these and have immensely enjoyed the challenge.

    Also I'll say, never again!

    Probably!

  4. I also have a gen Oyster bracelet for the 16014. I just put on the rep Prez for a little variety. I think it actually make the watch stand out a little more. I've been amazed at how the white gold bezel and markers sparkle in the sun light.

Two are 2824-2 Eta and one is a 2824-2 clone.

    Thanks for the kind words.

  5. Interesting reading! Especially about Mr. Slimeball.

Does this problem also relate to date wheel overlays or just aftermarket date wheels? It seems if paint thickness is an issue on the date wheel, an overlay shouldn't work at all. Yet they come on most Rolex reps.

    I'm a little confused.

  6. thanks, fellas, you won't be disappointed with the 42mm...installing the endlinks is a bit finicky because the tolerance is nil hahaha! so tight.....took me 15 minutes to fiddle with them without trying to scratch the lugs....

I got the black on white and it's real nice. Bad thing is the fit on the end links are so good I couldn't get the bracelet off to try it on a strap. I finally gave up after 30 minutes.

  7. I bought that same watch from Josh and it definitely came with Swiss ETA. I don't believe you will find a Chinese equivalent of the ETA 2671-2. It's not like the 2836-2 and 2824-2 that have Chines clones readily available. It's not a perfect rep but it's not anything that would embarrass you or her. Go For it.
