  1. Some of you may have seen the drama unfold around my attempted sale of my 42mm swiss ETA PO from King, in the trade thread at repgeek. In short I mistaken bought 42mm rather than 45 and when I tried to sell it, various issues with the quality of the rep (ie re pearl, bracelet - that it is not 4th generation etc - I've learnt a lot in the process!) were raised. Anyway, the long and short of it is that I'm not going to get anything like the $300 I paid for it in March. Anyway, my question is whether the following is feasible: 1) buy a UPO 45mm lite, with the asian movement from a trusted dealer; 2) remove the ETA movement from my King PO and transplant it into the UPO lite. Can 1 (or more) of you Omega gurus advise whether you think this is feasible/reasonable. If it is, I will end up with the watch I wanted (assuming the UPO lite has the right case/dial/bracelet etc) and not be too much more out of pocket, with a spare King case and asian movement. If this is reasonable, the real noob question. Who would you recommend I pick up the UPO lite from! Any help much appreciated. JJL
  2. The ones I have seen have blue hands? Is this right? J
  3. anyone know if anyone is repping, or there are plans to rep the limited edition, all black model? It looks sensation (IMHO). See pic @ http://www.jurawatches.co.uk/watch.asp?productid=3485. J
  4. All I can say is - in awe of you guys knowledge! J
  5. wandering through my home town cbd yesterday and came across a small shop selling 'high end' timepieces. The window display looked like a page from trustytime etc, so I was surprised someone would have the guts to set up shop selling reps in Australia. Checked out their website and although I'm no expert, looks very suspicious indeed. Would appreciate comments from the gurus about the stuff being sold - see http://swisswatchbox.com. If I'm right and it is genuinely suspicious, intend reporting this to the local authorities. Don't mind a rep being sold for a premium, but do have a big problem with a rep PAM 232 being sold for $13K. On the other hand, maybe I'm wrong and he has got his hands on a number of incredibly rare items - see the cali dial pam as an example. Help with my moral dilemma appreciated. JJL
  6. interested in a brown cali dial. Seems dsn is the only 1 making these - the other dealers recommended have the black face only. Have also read some reviews suggesting DSN's case etc, not as good as others. Know its a noob question... but how straightforward would it be to buy a cali from say Andrew, buy the DSN dial and replace it in Andrew's case etc. On a scale of 1 to 10 how difficult would this be - as you can gather, this is for someone with no skills/experience of this sort of thing before. Any help/guidance, much appreciated. J
  7. Hi, looking for some advice from the strap gurus. Have a couple of reasonable vintage PAM reps now. Would like to try a choc brown suede type strap with one of them. Have a couple of Simonas + a GSD which are great for the seasoned leather look. Any ideas/recommendations? cheers J
  8. Love the bottom right daydate. Which model is it (and the obligatory.... where did you get it....?) J
  9. the obvious question... Where did you get it. I tried to contact Sead, who was selling them on another board, but no reply to date. A really nice combination of chrono and a dress watch. Wear it well! J
  10. If you want to sell the Anticata, may well be interested! Have been looking at them for a while. Interested to hear the comments that you guys don't think they live up to the hype. J
  11. anyone know where these can be picked up? Saw them on another forum. Inclined towards quartz rather than an asian 28,800 - had a bad experiences with these in a recent purchase. Appreciate this effects authenticity, but as long as the rest of the rep is reliable, happy to accept the quartz movement for a chrono. J
  12. any word on when the chrono version is due out? This looks fab.
  13. great strap on the PAM 112H - can you say where you got it?
