  1. James Toseland and Noriyuki Haga. Carl Fogarty, my favourite rider, used 1, 2 and 4, none of which are that memorable.
  2. MacBook if you can afford it, Dell if you can't. -- Snake Oil. -- Snake Oil. -- Good advice.
  3. Not quite. There are way more than 115 million TVs in the US. A TV household is a dwelling with one or more TVs.
  4. I wonder if, being watchquote, they have to be listed models as opposed to all models.
  5. I really don't know. I don't test the power reserve past a day. I know I really should, just like I should check how accurate my watches are.
  6. This works on both a conscious and subconscious level. I've come to realise I wear a black PO because Bond wears one and I'm ok with that, even if it makes me a victim of marketing, with the caveat that I'm not really as it's a rep ... oops. Allowing yourself dreams and fantasies is very important. Never let anyone take that away from you.
  7. Copper Kipper? I've always referred to it as the tin haddock, but I like the copper kipper.
  8. If it were a sporting reference, it'd be 52, 46 or 41 or ... something like that.
  9. I believe its full name is the Breitling Aeromarine Superocean Steelfish X-Plus.
  10. I think 45mm would be excellent. 22mm is really necessary as most pilot straps will be 21mm/22mm, if memory serves me. I'm very interested in this project. Good luck! ps. put me down for No 23.
  11. It's an Aeromarine.
  12. Sheer physics should tell you that a 21,600vph 7750 will last 14% longer than a 28,800vph 7750.
  13. I've been thinking about this one and I'd have to say my theme is decent watches. There's a hint of diver, secret agent, playboy and bon vivant in my collection, with a large side-order of adventurer. The Panerais I have are all iconic (111, 183, 187, 127) and I have a Rolex 1665, 1680 and a brace of 16610s. A Planet Ocean is the sole Omega, but I have a Navitimer, Chrono Avenger and SFSO in the Breitling camp and a handful of IWCs, from the stylish-but-dead Portuguese Chrono, to the classy pilot's 3717 passing through the Aquatimer 2000 and titanium GST Chrono. On top of that are a few odd-balls like a 60s Poljot dress watch giving hints of cold war opulence and a 70s Tissot Seastar alluding to an adventurous youth. So, apart from blatant dress watches, I have everything a modern adventurer/bon vivant would need.
  14. This must be a new definition of the word success. 44mm with 22mm straps would be my recommendation. Either unbranded or simple branded dial.
  15. Me? I'm playing it safe with a big Omega.
  16. It's a good watch, but it's lost top Breitling spot to my Steelfish. As soon as I get a new strap, it'll get back into rotation though.
  17. Don't forget to drill the case for genuine springbars ...
  18. You don't need an SLR for HDRI. However, I've tried it on a watch and there is absolutely no benefit whatsoever as it's a small still-life. You don't need to use amazing digital techniques when you could just move the lights around a bit.
  19. j-fizzle?
  20. Function over form is what's driving that question in the back of most replica collectors' heads: what would my first expensive genuine watch be now I'm so well educated in brands and quality? I have that internal monologue often. Would I buy an IWC for the design or would I go for an Omega, Rolex, etc., and would I get a GMT or a chrono? Is it possible to buy a genuine watch for personal pleasure instead of an intended statement, and if so, which one? That's when the voice at the back of my brain tells me to get something like a Ulysses Nardin Freak. Yeah, I don't listen to it much, either.
  21. Congrats! I too am looking for work.
  22. With my photos, it's not a question of whether or not they've been shopped, but how much Photoshop has been used. The only pictures I don't touch with Photoshop are wristshots and trade shots. Everything else is fair game. However, Photoshop won't make you a better photographer.
  23. Good brands are responsible for good design and good design is worth paying for. If I were exceedingly well-heeled, I'd buy gens over reps every time but, as I'm not as well off as I'd like, I buy reps.
  24. The most accurate is one of the Ferrari Chronos, I'm afraid.
