  1. It's the easiest they say. I am going to start with a sandwhich and go from there. But I saw a guy do a UPO, first lume job, came out pretty damn nice...
  2. They are already there, and as I said in the thread, the lume is not very good. It looks cool for about ten seconds then fades rapidly. At the price though, I figure I can afford to lume the things if I want to. May do it myself - lots of tutorials here on how to do it.

Ha! It IS a homage! Well, the Doxa doesn't look bad either!
  4. Not faked nope. As already said, probably doesn't last long though. Why do you think there is no such thing a lumed printing? Or red lume? Where do people get these ideas?

Got this cheapy today in the mail. I have been trying out some cheap homages and in my browsing I came across this weird thing on eBay. If you spend time (lots of time) you will ocassionally find something interesting in all the cheap junk the Chinese have flooded eBay with... The Watch - Apog
  6. The Jackson site has a misprint - the 6497 is handwind, not automatic. Josh's cheap GMT's use a 21j automatic GMT function movement. You could ask in the Panerai forum about the rep of that movement. I am sure that the movements used by both Getatwatch and Jackson are that same movement. At the price they sell at is sure ain't an ETA. So yes, moving around will wind it up. Getatwatch has a nicer site, well organized, have heard good things about Jackson but his site is hard to navigate and doesn't list prices (that I can find anyway). I would contact him and get a price quote. I am a little biased because I just bought from Getatwatch and it was like ordering from an good U.S. online retailer - easy, fast, efficient, no hassle, GREAT product. As to straps, I like the new ones thay are listing in their strap section. Take a look - they are cool and if you like them maybe they can put on on the GMT and charge you a little more (they are nicer imho). Otherwise, I like the rubber....
  7. [censored]! OMG it DOES censor fl@nge! Guess you have to be Platinum to say that.
  8. Don't fight it man! It is bigger than all of us!
  9. same thing happened to me on another watch from HK, makes me wonder why I bothered with EMS.... Oh well, the important thing is that they are HERE!
  10. I went for EMS just because it is quicker. The watches showed up before the tracking info on EMS's website!
  11. I always love when people say, "I have narrowed it to these watches, help me choose" - and people come back with completely different watches that don't even fill the OP's requirements... it never fails! I like the Porsche, that's my vote.
  12. Well the movement they sell in the movement section are all hand-wind. The GMT is an automatic, so probably 21j - I guess, I don't know about GMTs...
  13. The A7750 is a good movement, though it has some traps you must avoid. Read up on now to set the date, winding issues, etc... with care and properly used, it is a great engine. Simple watch that I like - IWC Ingy:
  14. When I get my reps in the mail I run around showing them off (as reps). Lying about a rep is childish - if you are embarassed to wear a rep, don't wear it, but don't fvcking LIE about it. BE PROUD! For 5,000 bucks ANYONE can make an amazing watch... there is a LOT more merit in what the Chinese pull off for a few hundred bucks, and that is what I tell everyone I show them to.
  15. I can't give you the direct link because they use frames, but on main page, navigate first to "Watch" then "44mm" then "44mm Chronograph" - first one is a Hublot homage, second is the Oris homage. Voila!
  16. Using THIS link, it is working fine for me right now.... http://www.siswatch727.com/index.do
  17. Try the full url: http://www.siswatch727.com/index.do
  18. Really, it should be tested to greater than 3atm - if you are horsing around or smacking your arm against the water, you can generate pressure on the watch far in excess of 3 atm...
  19. I like the silver. Great find Onze!
  20. Thanks Onze! My buddies giving me moral support!
  21. Great! Thanks for coming over to post in my thread man! No one here is speaking to me anymore.
  22. Quick review and pics of a couple of watches I bought from a site I saw discussed a while back on RepGeek. The company is called Getatwatch Co., they are a China based dealer of sterile Pam and "Marina Militare" watches, cases, movements, dials, hands, etc... They also sell some "Parnis" (a Chinese homage manufacturer) Pilot and U-Boat homages. I bought a "Zitc" Oris homage and a sterile Pam Radiomir homage. Site url is siswatch727.com/index.do The transation was fast and easy and the watches are beautiful. I highly recommend this seller. Received email Friday that package was shipping (I think I ordered Weds or Thurs). Arrived today. Well packaged, lots of bubble wrap, each watch in a simple black box with a black cushion. This is my first experience with homages and I have to say it was a great one. At least based on this one purchase, you get a LOT of bang for the buck and I think that the prices on our reps may be inflated by the illicit nature of the business (prices reflect risk to seller and include cost of seizures). Homages may be sold openly and legally and my guess is that this is why the quality, relative to the price, seems much higher. I am planning on buying a couple of U-Boat homages and maybe a BP homage as well. If those purchase confirm my theory, I think I will be buying homages rather than reps whenever possible. Anyway, here are my purchases: 1. Oris Homage - 44mm. Beautifully finished, VERY heavy, quartz chrono. Lume on hands decent, but on markers almost non-existent. Appears to have some AR - blue tint to crystal under direct light. Price was $85. 2. PVD Radiomir homage. Beautiful! Nice satin PVD finish (crown is slightly glossy though, not same finish as case). Black sandwich dial, black numerals, lume on hands ONLY. Lume in nice when recently charged, but fades rapidly. I will do the hands at some point, worthwhile given the effect of the lumed hands on a blacked out sandwhich dial. Strap is nubuck leather, nice, but somewhat small. I have a 7 3/4" wrist, must put strap in last hole (so no "tail"). Color (charcoal) compliments watch very nicely. Solid caseback, Asian 6497 movement, no markings anywhere on watch - totally sterile. Very nice piece - never thought I would buy a Radiomir, just didn't like the look of them that much, but this one is gorgeous and truly unique. Price also $85. Shipping for both items via EMS to Spain was $33 I believe. It is less to U.S. and Canada.
  23. If they do, it won't be a minute too soon. This is also on my wish list.
  24. Ouch, somebody puttin the hurt on poor Robbie.
