  1. I have had a very nice offer of a place for a nice dinner evening in the NY area and i am sure that they may be a lot of takers as the communications in that area are great, Any one know of any hotels that are reasonable priced , not nesesary in Manhatten maybe some where in the country to the north???
  2. Any chance of a photo, if this is a rubber strap as the CAOUTCHOUC would sugest then i dont think there is a rep rubber strap, but i think you can get them cheeper than what you paid.
  3. Thanks Ken, i will have to get the wife looking through that when i get home, hey maybe you could come round for dinner one night when you are stuck up in the boring place??
  4. Morgen, Ich glaube deises ort wirt dir gefallen. Gruss aus Canada, aber kommt aus NRW.
  5. tell you what though if you want to go test drive a flashy car i always wear a flashy expencive watch, It is the sales persons impresssion if you can afford the car! I once wandered round a mec garage getting ingnored by the sales staff because i (by personal addmitance) looked like [censored], the next time i wore a shirt and nice watch and was entertaind with coffee and all the books and [censored], as i looked in place, some people in this world are so shallow.
  6. I have a couple of old 28xx at home in older watches like my Westend watch collection with sword adjusters dont have any movement pictures but i think this also has a 2886 or 2846 so i would belive yours is a gen swiss just old Have a look here at all the ETA movements ever made and their variations
  7. i dont think the other thread should be closed just because you got some negative responces, it has created discussion and that is what this place is about, you also have people agreeing with some of the generalisations you have made.
  8. I belive also on the german side of things it would be Eng-en-eur??? never very good at spelling things phoneticaly, but my pronunciation was good enough to buy one!
  9. A known problem unfortunatly but it can be fixed with DSN crystal, the only down side is the gret AR, it is too blue but a great crystal non the less, I remember having a Coffee with Rolexsandwitch (now MIA from the forums) and he could not take his eys off mine. have a look at the links below http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...exploding+fiddy http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...exploding+fiddy http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...exploding+fiddy http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...exploding+fiddy http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=19050&hl= http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=19034&hl=
  10. You mean some thing like repping the Pro-Hunter Rolex How about getting 10 euromariners and PVDing them, see how those apples sell!!
  11. Non of your pictures are visible to me ??????
  12. Ing-y works for me
  13. You know this would also be a good reply in Richards post, I do agree with you about reciprocating and buying the gen of something that realy clicks
  14. Both those watches listed in the OP are powered by a seagul ST18, not a swiss 2836, on the whole a good movement but i dont think they are worth the asking price by a long way, on a good front the movement can be replaced with a 2892 or another seagull (and this is a good movement BTW) for less then
  15. Also the CDG finish looks too rough to be swiss
  16. Do you know what you have let your self in for???
  17. You can get a gen caseback from cousinsuk for about
  18. well i have been looking for what my next watch will be and i think i have found it, i would have never been able to live with the seconds @ 9 version and now this is out it looks like i will have to save some pennys and make some straps again so at my prices it will be a while before i can get it. I would say that this would pass all but a wis inspection when it is on your wrist, A question is this a Genta designed watch? Also i am assuming this has a well designed jeweled modual to transfer the seconds to 12 like the sec at 3 movement, i wait with baited breath for Ziggy to clue us all in!
  19. Back to the Ingy
  20. Welcome all the info you are looking for are around this place, spend your time reding before you spend your cash and you will make and informed and good choice, Can a $150 REP LAST A FEW YEARS "HELL YES" if you get a good one. Burberry? not a clue, i did not think he sold clothes
  21. Hmm interesting thought, I like a watch that fits what i wear and the occasion, They have to be strong if it is a daily watch and water proof, I have many different ways i have to dress for work, on some occasions it is a millitary version of a dinner Jacket based back in the 1900s with black tie, generaly with this i would wear the Porto chrono. Other times i will be in a suit, The ingy goes great so does the railmaster and Aqua terra, or a radiomir To work the ingy, SOSF, Railmaster, Speedy moon watch, 177 and on a friday a Fiddy Out on the bike, same as above In the garage i generaly take the watches off as they get damaged and damage the paint on the bikes In the garden or the pond or any very dirty hard work my homemade sterile noob cased 1680 ish look alike or the 177. I like to think that the watches I wear fit my personality at the time, the way i am dressed and the location i am in. I am not a rich person because i have spent my money on the things I wanted, when i pulled up out side the IWC AD on a harley with tatty jeans and a leather vest it did not look that far out of place. Sat in the 5 star Grand Pupp hotel wearing a Kenberg Armani, suit and my rep ingy just looked so in place. If it was not for the fact that every one knows i collect reps i dont think any one has reason to question the authenticity of the watch i am wearing because of the way i look (maybe the fiddy at work) I always make that a thought when looking to buy a new watch. I think in the main i have quite conservative and fuctional taste in watches and may be that is the sort of person i am most of the time. I think those people that have me may agree???
  22. 242 or 248 should be perfect they are designed to hold screws in place where they may need to be removed later with out the use of power tools, 272 on the other hand is for tighter application where you may need to use power tools, so dont use it unless you have a real small screw driver for your impact driver
  23. That leather strap looks pretty good, is that the one that came with it? when i say good it loos like leather rather than plastic that a lot of the rep crock look like
  24. Wow you are right ! not exact;y under the radar is it
