  1. Have you noticed that there's a tax man here ???!!!
  2. Yes, I see what you mean. When I look at the pictures of the submariners from various dealers here (not all of them), it seems that the only one who is correct in this respect is the one from Josh. PT Ultimate Ed. : http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?s=&sho...indpost&p=60685 Trusty : http://www.trustytime.com/index.php?main_p...products_id=254 Both seems to have the same magnification. I know that different reps has different flaws, but why is it so difficult to get a basic thing like this correct ? That's difficult for a noob to understand
  3. Can you please be a little bit more specific?
  4. 1. McLaren F1 2. MB 300SL Gullwing 3. AC Cobra Replica
  5. I think the answer to the question 'are they overpriced' can be both yes and no. Looking from a technical point of view, the answer is in my opinion a clear 'yes'. From a marketing point of view - 'no'. Technically most luxury products are heavily overpriced, however they manage their brand, image, marketing and distibution extremly well (in practice perfect). As long as they manage to create and balance the demand for their products they are not overpriced - it's simply the added value of their brand name. You never pay for the product alone - you pay for the image and the organization behind it.

    Ebay Sweden

A lot of Rolex, Breitling and some Panerai replicas for sale. Most of them stated as 'inspired by...' in the text, but not so obvious for the Panerai's. http://www.ebay.se/viItem?ItemId=8943167364
  7. His career at ebay was quite short - "No longer registered with eBay"
  8. Sounds like a good offer to me, watch winders are much more expenisve
  9. Read a little bit around and you will hopefully soon understand . This is a board for people with replicas as an interrest and hobby, not a customer care centre Best regards and welcome from another noob.
  10. Off Topic, but still : From TimeZone: http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=msg...o=1809496&rid=0 Quote: "It was a remarkable day for Ferrari and Panerai as the launch of the new series of watches was held at Ferrari's test track, Fiorano, near Modena/Maranello – which is just outside of Bologna. Ferrari's General Manager, Jean Todt, and test driver, Luca Badoer made appearances as well as Mr. Angelo Bonati of Panerai." Jean Todt was not pictured, but probably he kept his left hand deep in his pocket during the session . Check out the "owners' testemonials" section here to find out why: http://www.vacheron-constantin.com/default_en.html

    Vacheron on ebay

Good description - and current bid is now above USD 1.300 jens
  16. International money orders still exists, however they are costly and incredible slow (check out bidpay.com). I disagree with you concerning bank-to-bank transfer (also called wire transfer), it's actually the most secure way to transfer money internationally today. Yes, you have to know the recepients account number, name and adress, however this is exactly the same info you need for paying whatever bill via a bank already. Using SWIFT and IBAN info makes it very convenient and secure. But you don't have a third part like pp in between, who you can ask to take part in a possible conflict. The only disadvantage is time, it typically takes 6-8 business days before it's posted at the receipients account (for abroad payments). I have used such transfers by many occations for huge amounts, and there has never been a single problem (it even works to/from the far east without problems ). jens

    Vacheron on ebay

bezel and second hand doesn't seem to be correct to me, but the pictures are very bad.....the VC tag is not genuine either I think And - loose all the papers and the box of a very expensive watch in three months ? jens EDIT: After a second glance, I think everything is wrong.......(as far as I know the dials with arabic letters was produced in blue colour and only 75 pcs. for the US market, but then the rest (case, clasp) doesn't match at all)
  19. I'm new to this scene, but couldn't agree more with all of you. When I read through the forums for the first time, I was to some extent surprised by the lack of basic common sense and understanding / ability on how to behave in a somewhat 'sensitive' environment. At least to my knowledge and understanding, this is a 'business' where all participants should have an interest to keep a low profile, and make as little noise as possible. I realise that people are different; some only have to provoke others in order to make themselves interesting and get acceptance, others get their drive by other means. People who for instance visits an AD to show and discuss their replica is in my opinion not genuine interested in replicas, nor genuine watches. I know I will provoke some people with this statement, but I think I can stand for it. As mentioned, I think all of us have an interest in keeping a low profile, and I want to briefly explain why I do think so: For many years I held a position in the regional management of a leading global company within the consumer business, representing a very strong brand name. In some parts of the business, mainly spare parts and accessories, copy and replica products were offered from various suppliers. We didn't only know it; by various intelligence methods we even had a very good overview and insight into their structure, financials, volumes, marketing and price structure a.s.o. – you simply can't imagine all the different ways we gathered all this information, and who provided it (the saying that 'don't trust anyone' is true). So, what did we do about it? Nothing, unless there was a risk that their activity could harm our business, and how could it do that? Simply by making noise and by that decrease either our brand preference and/or the AD's loyalty by questioning the uniqueness of our products. In other words, the moment your AD's starts to report via your sales force that he feels there is a problem with respect to alternative products, the situation requires and forces you to act, and at this point realities is of secondary interest. If someone feels it's a problem, it is, simple as that. As a colleague once put it, 'we'll load half a plane with lawyers and visit them, that will put them (the copy makers) out of business for a while'. I don't think this will happen here, the brand names are much stronger and unique. However one should never, never give them, or even more important – the press, any reason to find this activity interesting. Keep it in the family. And one last thing – never think that the dealer is the one that will bleed first, if the authorities gets interested they will come after YOU as well to statue examples, ref. a fine of EUR 8.000 for buying a pair of replica sunglasses in europe last summer.... noobie Jens
  20. Takk, det ser bra ut! Jeg er forøvrig helt enig i dine preferanser Hilsen Jens
  21. Hi chrgod, Takk ! I have had an interest for watches since I was very young a long time ago, 11 or 12 as I can recall. The background was that a friend of my father at that time were an authorized dealer for many of the top brands like VC, JLC and Movado to name a few. During our visits to his shop, I had plenty of time to study the most incredible masterpieces with respect to design, detailing and finish one can imagine. This impressed me deeply, and my interest for beautiful watches was born. A couple of years ago I bought a second hand genuine Vacheron dress watch, and you are of course right – the real thing is just that - the real thing. I don't think you can replicate the unexplainable 'touch and feeling' a genuine watch brings, even if the replica technically speaking could be 100% exact. I think buying vintage watches require more knowledge than I 'm currently is in possession of, and so far the prices on the auction sites I've seen are quite high. If you have any suggestions on where to search I would be glad to know. Kind regards Jens
  22. Dear all, after hanging around here for some days reading kilometres of very informative posts and articles, I just want to say hello to you! In short, it was a search for both knowledge and a few specific HQ replicas that finally led me to this place (and TRC), and hopefully my search with respect to quality and serious dealers is over . I cannot call myself a replica collector (not yet........), but when I study the various watches on this site I'm sure that will change quite soon. For people like me who can't afford to buy a genuine PP, VC, JLC or whatever twice a year, a decent replica is the only realistic alternative to get near your dream watch. On the other hand, my feeling right now is that one can easily end up spending the same amount anyway........ That's all for now, I will continue to read and learn from all of you, and maybe post a few stupid questions or comments in the time to come, so please bear over with me in the beginning – the learning curve seems to be quite steep ! Best regards Jens
