  1. I have a Skyland V2 on SS and a Skyland V1 (with fixed 3 o'clock dot) on rubber on the way to my house. I would like to take the best parts from each and make a SUPER Skyland and then give the remaining watch away to a friend. Here is my question: What parts do I want to use from each watch? Thanks for the input!!!
  2. Bumping this as there seems to be a lot of interest in the new DSSD Lite versions coming out.
  3. So the V4 is the "perfect" model for a 2001 Submariner if you change out the crystal (without the crown) since it uses the noob bracelet (that has SELs)? And the V3 is a rep of the 2002-whenever they started engraving the rehaut.
  4. A lot of members want the older style Rolexes of say, 10 years ago, when they DID have lugholes and they DID NOT have the engraving on the rehaut. I'm sure some senior members can chime in as to actual production dates for these runs.
  5. Its not official yet but Chris at Eurotimez has 2 new versions of the best out-of-the-box sub you can buy. There is now: Version with lugholes with no rehaut engraving: V3 http://s303.photobucket.com/albums/nn154/e...0V3%20Lugholes/ Version with no rehaut engraving: V4 http://s303.photobucket.com/albums/nn154/e...8%20Black%20V4/ I think Chris really cares about the needs/wants of the customer and is working very hard to be THE company name we quote when someone asks, "who has the best sub?"
  6. Chris, thank for working so diligently to get the customers what they want. the rehaut and lug hole changes are a big improvement. I am ready to purchase when you finally "go live" with these versions.
  7. From what I have heard, either way is fine.
  8. The less complicated the movement, theoretically means the more reliable the movement. Example: Movement with only hours and minutes > Movement with hours, minutes and seconds > Movement with hours, minutes and seconds, date > Movement with hours, minutes and seconds, date, day > Movement with hours, minutes and seconds, date, day, chronos See my point? Gen Swiss ETA movements are more reliable than Chinese movements. Most Swiss ETA movements (2824, 2836) with hours, minutes, seconds and date can last a very long time if properly serviced. If you are asking for specific models I would recommend (in no particular order): Rolex SeaDweller (SD), Breitling Steefish Superocean (SFSO), Omega Seamaster Professions (SMP), Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean (PO or UPO) All of these (as well as many others) should last years if properly taken care of.
  9. Marathon SAR: The definitive "Tool" watch
  10. White dial SFSO or Euromariner with gen ETA movement.
  11. Don't tease us!!! Start the damn raffle!!!
  12. CBR! Nice seeing you around again. I miss the days in the military playing with guns and smashing Humvees into random things.
  13. $200.00 for "super reps" with A7750 movements!!!! I would buy around 3 reps a month at this price. I bet the dealers would make enough off of this pricepoint due to the higher volume that this price generates.
  14. LOL, you are being too picky. You will NEVER notice that on the wrist.
  15. Good post! I just want to add that not all versions of the sub take the same crystal. Also, different factories have different bezels, some that can accept gen inserts, some that can't. CG's ALWAYS must my shaved. Some crowns look WAY off and need to be replaced. Finally, bracelet needs to have the sharp edges taken off with a toothpick and some high grit sandpaper. I see that your post was for Euromariner/WM9/PT....What is PT? Should it also say that it is for MBW/MBK since they are the same case as the others?
  16. It is a shame the messed up the GC's so badly on that one. It can't be modded!!! Other than that, it seems that they are making real progress. Here is a pic from something I posted earlier. The bottom pic shows the same CG's as the DSSD being put out by that Japanese site, so it still applies:
  17. Seller appeared shady and very defensive. Was using profanity on his first reply to me. Not what you would expect from someone selling a gen and wanting to communicate in a way that would add value to the watch.
  18. I contacted the seller and he told me that I was retarded. I called out a few things about the watch and asked to see the movement and the seller quit responding to my emails. BTW, if you read the ad, you will note that there are no papers. I just don't want to see the guy get away with this. If you agree with me, then get on eBay and report it! Thanks.
  19. There is a rep Breitling being sold as gen here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=200256661278 Item number is 200256661278 I posted pics on this forum a day or so ago and even reported it on eBay. Take a look at the "15" on the bezel as this is the most glaring tell. This item is still up with about 10 hours to go. Can anyone else help out and report it as a counterfeit? 1. Just go to the bottom of the listing in the "Other options section" and click on "Report this item" 2. For "Reason For Report" select "Counterfeits and copyright violations" 3. For "Additional information" select "Counterfeit watches and jewelry" Thanks!
  20. Tear it apart people!!!!
  21. There is a group buy going on at RWI for the UPO. $195.00 Shipped...I don't think you will find a better deal. The version in question is the same model sold by Josh/Andrew/Angus (2824 movement, sapphire, AR) and most believe that it is a better version that what Silix offers. Silix has the correct "no feet" logo but overall the other version is more accurate.
  22. Duh, it just occurred to me the the crystal diameters are different for SDs and Subs...so the answer is a resounding no
  23. BK did an extensive write-up of the gen vs. SSD crystal. I believe he showed how the SSD crystal was unique to the SSD. My guess would be no, you cannot exchange a rep sub crystal with the SSD V1 crystal. Here is the gen vs. rep crystal comparison: http://www.repgeek.com/showthread.php?t=12113 Here is an idea, you can get a SSD V2 case/crystal from BK for $80. That should solve your issue. here is the link: http://www.repgeek.com/showthread.php?t=19767 Lastly, contrary to what you posted, BK seems to think the problem was with the bezel and not the crystal. He mentions this is his article.
