It is a lot larger than gen but I never notice it till someone posts about it. Then it bothers me for a few days. Then I forget about it. Then someone posts about it. Then it both...
Great post. You are one of my favorites over there. (especially after the "V.I.P." thing that I posted) Hope you find a way to make a smooth transition back to what makes you the happiest.
Great response. I take this as RWG's "line in the sand" Just as I said earlier, each forum community has their own way of dealing with things. I think this stance is fair and admirable.
Remember, even though we think we have seen every crumb of this issue I am certain that the admins are privy to a little more information than makes its way down to the masses.
"SHADES OF GREY"
I have read all the posts (from all three forums) and I think it is a delicate issue that is being handled by the admins as the culture of their respective forums dictate. Think about it, if we all were just alike and everyone had the same ideals and principles then there would only be one forum. I am not saying one forum is better than the next, I just think that members will gravitate to the forum that most closely represents and mirrors their beliefs.
If enough members of one forum put enough pressure on the admins for a change, then the admins can either enact that change or lose forum membership.
I mean no disrespect by any of this.
Also, the bezel on the SSD V2 is one of the lesser flaws. Here are the SSD V2 flaws as I see them:
Pearl sucks
Crown guards WAY too thick
Rehaut too thin (can't fix )
Rehaut too deep (can't fix)
Dial 5 minute markers are dead wrong
Back of end links (SELs) dead wrong
Crown etching at 6 o'clock is WAY too big
SELs don't fit tight enough
If I were to take on a project with the SSD V2, I would start with the things that make a large visual impact (pearl and crown guards)
Funny..I didn't realize all the things that were wrong with this watch till I wrote this list...and this is still my favorite watch!!!
I believe that I have read on one of the forums that the bezel diameters between the gen and rep SDs are off. Plus rehaut and crystal is wrong on this model. I don't think it is worth the effort but good luck to you if you decide to go through with it.
Here is a "for instance"
GEN on right:
Supper looking watch! That thing is HUGE!!! Does it feel that much bigger than the SSD? I was considering this but WOW...that is a big watch. Does a shirt sleeve fit over it?
I have read a few posts where people say that watches wear "larger" than they look on the wrist. I would have to agree with that. I have a friend that I sold a Noob Sub to and it looks big and has "presence". When I try it on it feels smallish, but now I know that it is just a perception issue.
I sort of relate it to how you think you know how your voice sounds to people until you hear it on an answering machine. Or...do you ever see yourself in pictures and think that you look totally different than if you were to look in a mirror? I think it is the same when you look at a watch on your wrist.
Anyway, just my .02
Have I ever seen a gen "Bra"?...hmmm....nope "Bra". I have no idea "Bra" what I am talking about. I just just go back to collecting G.I.Joe figures "Bra" and leave you seasoned experts alone "Bra".
Let the pictures "Bra" speak for themselves "Bra".
Hold on...I am a dumbass. I see now that "bra" means "Bracelet". I was taking it as "Bro". Sorry for getting sh*tty with you elprimerozen.
"When you set the time, in order to put the clock forward, you have to turn counterclockwise the crown of all watches, but the gens. In order to put the clock forward on a 3135-based watch, you have to turn the crown clockwise."
This has been posted before but that you for bringing it to our attention again.
