  1. It appears that you are dodging the 904L question, as you state "people we purchase watches from in TAIWAN state that their watches have 904L steel..." So you really don't know? I would bet my left nut that your watches are NOT 904L Here is a proposition: You send me a Sub, I will have it's metal content tested (in the Georgia Tech metallurgy lab), I will post all results here. If it is not 904L, you let me keep the watch. If it is 904L I will buy the watch from you and write a detailed retraction of anything negative I have said thus far concerning you. Are you game?
  2. But Josh and Andrew are correctly (for the most part) positioned for this market segment. They know that in order to reach the rep watch enthusiasts, there can be no fleecing of the customer. If you want to go after this piece of the pie you will have to adjust your tactics accordingly. ...For the love of all that is holy...tell me that your Sub cases are constructed using 904L grade stainless steel!!!!
  3. Also, please explain this... Both screen captures were taken from your site: Note the yellow highlighted numeral (from your Sea Dweller): Why not be completely honest in your marketing collateral?
  4. C'mon...say that your Sub uses 904L stainless steel...I want to see it with my own eyes on this thread.
  5. Also, please confirm that your Sub uses 904L grade stainless steel. I want to hear it from you. Give the guy a sec to prove himself....
  6. Try Firefox V3 it is way faster than IE..trust me you will never go back OH...and Nice Watch!!!
  7. FUGLY!!! and definitely not for me...it would get caught on anything that I brushed up against. Somebody said "Less is more" earlier in the thread...
  8. Wow..this whole rep forum thing gets more entertaining by the minute. Mrshuma, I believe that this as well as other rep collecting communities work so well because they force the recommended dealers (as best they can) to provide accurate specs for the products that we as members purchase. You will note that dealers used by this forum post pictures of the actual products that we receive. We all know that there are higher grade replicas out there but the policing done by the Admins and senior members here build a level of trust with the rest of the membership. I would never purchase a rep from a site that posts pictures of gens. If you are going to try and penetrate this market, it would be in your best interest to be completely honest with the members here, contact the Admins with your intents, and work through the proper established protocol. We have a great thing going on within this space and it is because of the relationships built over time. I admire you posting your thoughts and I very interested in the fact that you carry stock inside the continental United States. That being said, I completely put my faith in the opinions/decisions of the senior leadership. I look forward to what they have to say.
  9. Not my cup of tea but it is undeniably a work of art! I love how the mainspring is exposed (kinda would work as a power reserve gauge). I am certain that many members here will be picking their jaws off their laps when they see this. Is that a one-off original by you?
  10. I am not really sure how I ended up here. I thought I was going to be in and out quickly. I was going to study up on watches, ask all the experts a bunch of questions, buy two or three "super reps" and then get on with my life. I think what is sucking me in is the admiration I have for the people who revolve around this hobby. I love how nit-picky some of the members are about discrepancies no larger that the footprint of an ant. I also like the fact that I have enough noob knowledge to help the extremely new members. It feels good when I get a PM from a member thanking me for helping them with their first purchase. Lasty, I am becoming much more fond of watches in general. My list of "must haves" grows weekly. I dunno...I might be gone in a month or two but the knowledge I have gained here plus the satisfaction of helping others with definitely go down as a positive experience in my book.
  11. I have been following your story closely and I am very happy that it came to an end in this manner. I bet it was fun breathing that sigh of relief once you had your two watches in hand!
  12. Rolex Submariner - if done properly, it is a stunner (Eurotimez Euromariner is considered a "super rep" by me) Rolex Sea Dweller (SSD V2) is a tank with classic looks (though it has it's flaws, it is a forum favorite) Breitling Steelfish Superocean (considered a "super rep") Omega PO (considered a "super rep") All four are relatively uncomplicated designs, very true to their gen counterparts, water resistant, and robust. Here are some links for you to check out: Eurotimez Euromariner: http://www.eurotimez.com/page65/page5/page144/page144.html SSD V2 (get the version with Swiss ETA 2836): http://www.puretimewatch.com/index.php?productID=276 SFSO: http://www.pam111.com/product_info.php?cPa...roducts_id=1747 PO: http://www.trustytime88.com/index.php?main...;products_id=25
