  1. I'm waiting for my Narikaa PO, which is supposed to have a bracelet that is an absolute pain to size, not that I have the tools anyway. Outside of AD's, do I really need to search out a "rep friendly" place rather than just any random watch place at the mall or similar? I figure there's a good chance these people won't even know it is not gen, and if they do, won't care. My only prior experience with this was with a cheapo NY street corner TAG, which anyone could tell was a fake if they held it, and the watch place I took it to didn't bat an eye.
  2. Ditto. I've developed an intense personal dislike for the people who got theirs after 4 days...
  3. So has the watch from the latest batch made it to anyone in the new world yet? I think the carrier pigeons are tired.
  4. Still waiting for mine. The colonists are getting screwed again.
  5. Anyone's showing up on tracking? Mine isnt, although Reg said it probably wouldn't.
  6. Is it too early to start whining that my watch isn't here yet? It's been three days, nine hours, fifty-three minutes and forty seconds since I ordered and I'm only on the other side of the world. Where the **** is technology which allows solid objects to be faxed?? I would've had it Sunday! Well, it's been a whole minute since I started this post, and it is STILL not here. Patience is not one of my virtues. This is going to be painful. Maybe I need a different hobby. *Sigh*
  7. If I can make another suggestion: the best "noob" reps list in addition to the super reps. Many noobs, myself included, start of with a much cheaper watch than the super reps, especially given the state of the economy. Not everyone wants, or has the capacity, to drop $300 - $400 on a rep as a first step into the hobby. There are no current reviews aggregated in one place for the lower-priced reps, even though many of them would make noobs who are not sticklers for accuracy quite happy. I'm waiting for my first rep, a "low rent" one, and it took a lot of work to figure out what to get.
  8. Yeah, I knew about the bezel, just forgot to mention it... I would be with the 99% of the general public regarding the flaws if not for the forum. Just want to know for general education purposes.
  9. "Hi, I have a, umm, replica watch that you guys have had for five days now. When do you think you'll be sending it on its way?"
  10. Mine's on the way, but a question for the gurus: what's inaccurate about this version? I think the hands are too short and the date window is a little off from the gen. Anything else?
  11. You need a WWII-era fleiger watch. 55mm of goodness. Or, just skip the intermediate steps and go for the gusto:
  12. I think you got ripped off. That looks nothing like the gen. There are way too many whiskers, the ears are too far apart, the eye color is wrong, and the gen doesn't have white paws. I really like the watch, though.
  13. That Glashutte is a timeless, classic design. That watch would look great with a tux in 1940 or 2040. Not that the IWC would look bad, but the Glashutte is simply made for formal wear.
  14. Well, it was something of a rhetorical question, but it looks like I'll have to make a decision very quickly - got a PM from Narikaa that he just picked up a bunch of these today.
  15. THAT was going to be my suggestion. A black-dialed fleiger on a brown strap with rivets - a truly classic look. I have a Laco on a brown strap and I think it looks fantastic.
  16. I think waiting is my final decision. Now the real tough choice - what color?
  17. That's purty! I'm leaning towards waiting for the Narikaa version to be back in stock at the moment but that does look very nice if for some reason Narikaa can't get more, or I get impatient.
  18. That about sums it up. I'm seriously considering getting one, just wondering which dealers carry the best version around.
  19. Anyone know if that version measures up to Narikaa's? What $20 discount?
  20. I don't have a single "rep" watch, so I'm looking to get one to dip the toe in the reps. There appear to be lots of noob Rolexes that seem to be fairly highly thought of, any good Omegas on the cheap? I particularly like the PO's. I'm looking to spend only around $100 or so, so obviously I'm not looking for perfection, but would like to know what would be "OK" to get new, or to look out for on the sales forum. Thanks
