  1. Nope - that's more for Hummer fans...
  2. I was astounded to get around 30mpg on a long run in the AMG E55 I had for the weekend (albeit that was a gentle drive at sensible speeds with the cruise control on), but it was more like 17-18mpg around the local lanes. Mind you, that's a UK gallon, which is larger than the US gallon, so your 20mpg would probably equate to slightly more over here. I'm thinking of trying an E320, which reportedly gets around 24-25-ish in average conditions, which isn't much worse than my previous (pre-tree) car... We'll see what happens when the insurance company sort themselves out...
  3. woooo - very very nice indeed. A friend drives one of those - beautiful car. With your username, I was expecting a Landie....
  4. "I have had a perfectly wonderful evening, but this wasn't it."
  5. "Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read."
  6. "Well, Art is Art, isn't it? Still, on the other hand, water is water. And east is east and west is west and if you take cranberries and stew them like applesauce they taste much more like prunes than rhubarb does. Now you tell me what you know."
  7. Okay. I laughed. *wipes the coffee off his monitor. Again*
  8. To counteract the noise from Spain.....
  9. Fugly. I like APs as a rule, but that thing looks like a Graham Chronofighter's uglier brother crossed with a ROO on a really bad hair day.....
  10. no, that's neither practical or fun. Useless and miserable, yes.
  11. A model you missed (and a particular favourite of mine - I'll be buying one once a decent rep appears)
  12. ah - just for alphakazi, I see. Well done
  13. ah, just like home... *wistful sigh*
  14. Nice - always liked the Camaro. Wouldn't necessarily want to own one, but nice all the same. My wife used to have a '67 Mustang fastback (I forget which version now - it was before we were married, but it looked like the one in Bullitt), which was also a thing of beauty.
  15. Nice! The Benz models look interesting too.
  16. ROFLMAO@Col's sig..... For what it's worth, while I had the M635 I once had a bit of a burn-out with a Lamborghini Countach in Germany - I was expecting to be slaughtered, but I managed - mostly - to keep up with him all the way to 100-ish (at which point I started running out of acceleration whilst the Countach went on afterburner and headed for the horizon at an alarming rate, but that's to be expected). Not too shabby for a relatively heavy coupe... It was a seriously quick piece of machinery. I somehow doubt I'd have fared so well in the Aston (would probably have had to get it serviced half way through.... ) A friend/client had a series of XJS - eventually winding up with a V12. Great car, but boy did they need a lot of attention. Almost as bad as the Aston. Jags really weren't at all well built back in those days.
  17. you do realise that the marines stand no chance of bringing him back without the beer and the blondes.....?
  18. 1. Your frequent comments about asian vs. white girls border on racist and are more than a little offensive. Quit it. 2. Replacing an Aston that I loved but was causing me no end of problems and costing a fortune to keep on the road with a BMW M635csi was certainly a tough decision, and one that I hated making, but it at least allowed me to drive where I wanted to when I wanted to without having a mechanic living in the passenger seat. Ultimately, whatever the car, it is simply transportation, and if it doesn't run reliably, it's not serving any purpose at all. I might also point out that the M635 was still a great car, just not quite in the stratospheric league of the Aston...
