  1. Please accept my apologies, guys. The only person that was able to figure this out needed me to put two keys and a ring in their hand. Perhaps the physical / visual aid helped with the solution. However, I have learned something invaluable from all of this. Most of the "interesting" or "creative" matter of my mind is a product of over-analysis and a source of my own frustration. What do I mean? Well, I was going to type a whole experience about thinking that someone is interested in you (before either of you say antything concrete) only to have them say a series of things that makes you think it was all in your head, but I rather just stop here. I was trying to add up the "signals" before opening my mouth. Opening my mouth proved embarrassingly painful in the past. But being "quiet" and playing "signal tag" before busting out with the whole skillet and butter can be equally embarrassing. Anyways, Today will be a somber and mute one. I just think too darn much. That is NOT intelligence. It is a mental liability 99% of the time, and the 1% that could be profitably converted is rarely ever done. If you have done so, let me know your secret. Sometimes I'm right, but most of the time it is just worth more to acknowledge my own thoughts and end it with: "Let's just keep that thought between us, ok?" I'm learning to do that. By the way, If any of you out there is named Christian Bradley (Or Christian David). I want my manuscript back dude. That was dirty, and a lasting example of my being stupid again. Never hand over three years worth of work to a person you just met, seemingly by divine intervention, who just happens to have your same interests. It is not like in the movies. Nothing grand will happen. Or, as in some movies, what happens might just suck. I hope the next 29 years will be a lot more calculated, and less intellectually and emotionally costly. Because, I seriously have a lot to get done.
  2. The dial blinded me from the rest of the watch. They serious need to rework that color. Didn't take a thing away from an excellent review though. Thumbs up!
  3. That's an instant classic line in my book. I will actually use that line one day. It's Official. We are all LOONIE!!! At least we know we won't have to face jail time. A lot of medication though. Could this be a first Mass Insanity Defense Plea in judicial history???
  4. BBC (or CNN): "Breaking News" "What many are calling the Replica Revolution has had it's first day in court today, and it was quite a show. One confessed member of the RWG, (believed to be the most highly-organized international underground group of replica watch enthusiasts) was arrested on first degree Replica Possession charges last month. Choosing to represent himself, the member, known as 'Lord Rasta' (real name Sherlock Matlock Holmes III) exposed the prosecutor's Rolex Submariner, as being a replica during the proceedings. Lord Rasta's trial is currently on hold, and counsel for Montres Rolex S.A. say they have since received credible reports of a Replica Ring lead by none other than the prosecutor in this case, Michael Rehaut. There is already serious discussion concerning his being disbarred. He too, now faces Replica Possession charges." Start the Revolution!!!
  5. You Wouldn't happen to have any pics of that would you? If the are posted around, I'll search. Also, did he advertise it as WG plated, or just as SS?
  6. This dealer was at their .com just minutes ago. I check back and Vrrrrrrroooooom!!! I was window shopping for a Day-Date. That wasn't nice.
  7. This thread has someone (a dealer) nervous. Or maybe it's just something else. I just visited a certain site and whaddya know: No longer there! Offline Reminds me of Runaway Jury when they packed up. That wasn't my intentions guys.
  8. Everything = Nothing, but Nothing= Everything. What is his goal? How many options does he have that would get him GUARANTEED to that goal? The two pitfalls is Circular thinking ("If everything is nothing and nothing is everything then they both are the same..." ) and Hit or Miss ("It's either THIS or THAT") Change that, and you can figure this out.
  9. Two doors, but she didn't say he had to choose a key or a door. Read it again. He has options. He even asked questions.
  10. Then you have to be the Replica Ambassador to the luxury goods nations! It is your job during this dark, dark, time to bring the replicas to the light!!!! We have your back. In the bunkers. Of course if they turn on you for reward money----DISAVOWED.
  11. Don't worry Ken, Knowing your knack for the goodies I cut and pasted all of them. You are positively nuts!!! That was good stuff (where ever do you find this stuff)??
  12. Found the thread, but not the photo. I think my question has been answered. There was a lot of mention of the use of rhodium as plating, and that even Rolex may use this on their watches and that it is a common practice to plate white gold with rhodium. Thanks for the referral.
  13. Noooooo.... Not "Rep-free" just like there is no such thing as a "Drug-free" but putting the two on the same level would be intense don't you think. BTW, People have gone to prison for spamming too. No joke.
  14. Indeed, However.... "An open invitation for an indecisive man is worse than the insurmountable for the resolute."
  15. This topic is based on possibility, but not likely. You may feel like you are reading science fiction but bear with me, The situation: Luxury watch companies decide to put forth a greater effort to curb illegal replicas because some began to notice significant impact on their luxury and high-end watch sales. They make a convincing case that this damages the economies of several countries, and that these governments should help them put the smackaroo on replicas. They try to make it sound more like a pending financial epidemic, complete with CNN interviews with economists and such to add an air of legitimacy and urgency. The next president is pressured to help promote this in the US and many other countries to prevent a "luxury goods crisis" such as happened with the financial institutions of many countries, especially it's friends. The watch companies shell out a lot of $$$ to lobbyists to help pass strict legislation against counterfeiting WORLDWIDE. Since money talks, this action takes shape quickly, and there is a crackdown on buyers, dealers, manufacturers, the skilled people that service them (knowingly or unknowingly). Rewards are being offered to members of the public (especially those who have purchased replicas before) for information leading to arrests, convictions, etc. It is even stated that this must be taken even more seriously than the embargo against Cuba. Long story short. It REALLY becomes a hassle to seek out a replica. Not just "my package is in customs." Swift legal action, fines, increased busts. The governments start treating replicas like they are dope and guns. It's suddenly not a game anymore. What do YOU do at this point? Get out, or take the chance of being treated like a gun-runner or drug pusher for what you consider a hobby?
  16. I was saying they probably put Rhodium over steel to produce the "effect" of white gold. No, not both though I agree that would be senseless. From waaaaaay back the SS shine on my Day-Date replica used to bother me up close. Sometimes you can tell, sometimes not. See Photo
  17. Much appreciated. The photos I posted don't look like stainless steel. I'm almost sure they contain some other element than steel, but of course there is no way for me to make sure. But like you said, the grayish tone is there, which is what made me think there might have been some truth to the claim. It wouldn't look exactly identical to 18k wg (just as 18k plating doesn't) but there is something there that appears to be other than stainless. Maybe Rhodium? Although Rhodium is shinier and the matte-looking gray tone really look different (I know I said that like 19 times, but when I see Steel Day-Dates, they don't look like this). Thanks for your input. Coda.
  18. Sure, A better question is this: Before he can pick nothing or everything, wouldn't he have to be able to identify each door. But neither of them are labeled. Second, Remember, this is to test his overall depth of perception, and creative thinking ability. If I tell you the hot water gives cold water, and the cold water faucet gives hot water, then what exactly do I mean? Just that right? That statement is designed to make you over-think things on purpose. Once you stop doing that, then you'll know what your options are. The next step is to decide how to choose it. The answer is not cut and dry. But I'm sure someone will think to do it. If the manager was looking to hire YOU to make decisions for their company... Some employers like sure bets, others like those who take chances. How can this man do both with ONE decision, but not choosing the wrong key? He can only choose one KEY.
  19. Doesn't that mean more $$$ for this insatiable habit? Just tryin' to look on the bright side.
  20. Hi guys, It's that season again, for me to hibernate (that is, go back to work). So, I thought I might try to get an answer to a long standing question before I do. Please keep this in mind: I DON'T CARE ABOUT ANY DEALER'S INTERESTS. I just want to know if this is a myth or actual product. If you think it will be difficult for you to post a truthful answer without getting into a debate about the dealer (and we all know who), then please start on your next novel. The thread will not cry. I did some research and found a Day-Date rep that is purported to be layered in white gold and lo and behold, it brought me back here. For the longest time, I wanted to know if any DAY-DATE replicas were ever produced with actual white gold layering because usually, 99.999 percent of the time it is just stainless steel and sold as such. If white gold is actually used, then it would tell me a lot and answer another long standing question. Do these exist or Have they ever been produced? Or am I seeing white gold where there is just steel? Because it sure looks like what it is claimed to be. White Gold. And please don't say it's not possible just because you don't like the guys prices or think he's not reputable. I just want to know if this is something that is offered or is it just in the eye of the one looking. Thanks, Coda.
  21. (Edit) Dani just said "he received notice" about an auction. I don't know. I guess you were right because that is not an auction. He will have to post that if he chooses. I don't know how it sold for $20k either (as Thomas mentioned). Where did the bidding start? $10K $15K. I don't get it, but I don't need to.
