  1. Excelent information, thanks! Now what about the number that follows "ETA" when a specific movement is being described? Are there cirtain movements or ETAs that are better than others, any to stay away from? What movement would my MBK TT sub from Eurotimez have? Its the one By-Tor used in his revirew, the one with ROLEX engraved in the rehaut. Sorry for all the questions, this is all new to me. Trying to learn so I know what I'm reading in the threads.
  2. I have been reading a lot here and I see a few terms I don't understand too well. 1) "ETA" I know this is refering to the movement. But what does "ETA" stand for? Then there is a number that refers to the movement. What movements are considered the best? I have a TT sub. 2) "SEL" I know this refers to the bracelet in some way but not sure what. If someone can give me a brief description of what this means that would be great. Also....if there is a list of other terms or slangs I would like to check it out as I'm sure there is something I forgot about. Thanks James
  3. I got an MBK 2 tone sub from Eurotimez and the brecelet is solid and has some weight to it. The entire watch is heavier than my gen SS sub.
  4. I figured it was a different company. That would now lead me to believe that the scamming Ideal Watches is trying to capitalize on the good name of the true Ideal Watches.
  5. Just browsing ebay and came accross many adds from Ideal Watches. They even have an ebay store. Is this a different Ideal Watches than the one known for scamming people with junky REPs? http://stores.ebay.com/IDEAL-WATCHES-INC
  6. This is true, I have a gen sub and I just got my first rep sub and that was the first thing I noticed. You spin the crown counter clockwise to advance the time. The gen spins clockwise to advance the time. Can anyone tell me why this is? They spend so much effort on making the watch as authentic as possible but this one thing blows it out of the water.
  7. I am terrible at taking good close up pics. I'm sure my Casio Exslim doesn't help. Thats why I put a lint to By-Tors review, he has great up close shots of my exact watch. I'll give it a shot later anyway. Wow...I just realized how incorrectly I spelled Breitling in my first post.
  8. I would have to agree that an empty Rolex is a huge let down. I don't get what the value of that would be. You don't wear the box, you're not going to bring the box out at a party and show it off to your friends. I would be embarrased to bring that home to my family and tell them it was a bonus for a job well done. In fact I would almost take it as an insult and figure that the boss is laughing about it with his rich buddies over Martinis on a yacht in Costa Rica of all places. Ok so its a vintage box, the gesture would have said something if there was a vintage Rolex in it. Is it worth anything on ebay? On the other hand, never underestimate people, especially rich people. They can have some strange ideas of what is funny. He may be messing with you and planning to give you the watch that goes in the box. Think about it, why would ha have the box and not the watch? If he sold or gave the watch away the box was likely to go with it. Unless he lost the watch. Sorry, its just a bit strange.
  9. I just recieved my first REP. Its a blue TT sub, I know, its the most popular rep for the newbies, but its the one I have wanted. I actually bought the watch from a member here but its the exact watch used in By-Tors review shown here http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...t=0&start=0 The watch came from Eurotimez and was actually at Eurotimez for routine service when I bought it from the forum member. Chris at Eurotimez was very helpful in providing information, answering all of my emails, and shipping the watch directly to me rather than back to the previous owner and making me wait for him to ship it to me. Now to the watch. I have a genuine all SS Rolex Sub and I know many people with the TT subs. I have seen a lot of them up close and handled quite a few as well. I am in no way a Rolex expert but but using the knoledge I have I would not have been able to point this watch out as a replica, at least not without a genuine watch of the same exact model in my other hand, and even then I'm not sure. In comparing the replica TT to my genuine SS there are only a couple of things I noticed that were a little off, again I'm no Rolex expert. 1) The lume on the hands and markers are nowhere near as strong as the genuine. 2) The points on the bezel are much sharper on my gen SS sub. But this could be the way that the TT subs are. My SS sub is the only comp I have at the moment. 3) The kinetic winding weight is much louder on the rep. I can shake the hell out of the gen SS sub and its silent. That being said I am very happy with the quality of this watch. Even the weight seems to be accurate. I have the band set up exactly the same on both watches, an equal amount of links. The gen SS sub is 124 grams and the rep is 126 grams. That seems right as the gen SS sub doesn't have any extra weight for the date mechanics or cyclops. I'm sure a genuine TT would weigh a bit more because of the weight of the gold. But as I understand it this particular watch has solid gold center links. The bezel and crown are plated. All in all, I think the watch is a good replica. I don't think anyone wearing one will be pointed out unless the people around you know you could never afford a genuine one. I could actually afford one if I was willing to slap it on a credit card but at the moment I'm not ready to do that. I'll put the watch to the test over the next few weeks when I wear it around my buddies who also have gen Rolexes and Breightlings. They know I can buy a genuine TT so I am going to let them decide weather I did or not, and believe me, they will call it out if they suspect. I'll post results later.
  10. I already contacted BK and he has at least a 6 week wait time. I also tried to visit the eurotimez website but for some reason I can't get it to open. It just times out every time. I have no problem with any other website.
  11. Sorry for my ignorance but what is "noobfactory"? I have been wanting to check out Eurotimez but I can't seem to get the website to open. Tried numorus times but ni dice.
  12. By looking at your picture it does look like a good rep. I will be putting BK on my short list. Thanks!
  13. Thats pretty much all I'm looking for, and "BK" was the person I was told to contact. Hopefully he will chime in and point me in the right direction. As to the weight, I know....my genuine all SS sub isn't that heavy. I can tell the case and guts are most of the weight, and I know my SS sub to be 100% genuine. I know a genuine 2 tone would weight much more because of the weight of the gold. I will buy the read deal one day but with a baby on the way I just can't do it right now. Thanks James
  14. Thanks for the tip, and I have done a few days of research, just not on this site. I came accross Rep Watch Guide first and was refered here by a member there. I know exactly what I want, but don't know much about Reps. I have a genuine all SS sub but have been wanting the 2 tone for a while but I don't want to spend the 7K just yet so I wanted to get my feet wet with a rep. Here is what I am looking for....the watch to look and feel as authentic as possible. That means the second hand must move correctly, I know that will be a swiss movement. The size (40mm) must be accruate, the weight muct be close to accurate, the crown must be accurate. At least to the naked eye. I am not at all expecting Rolex quality but I want Rolex asthetics. But at the same time I want to be able to use the watch for a few years until I am ready to add another gen Rolex to my collection.
  15. Hi, I was refered here and told I might be able to find a really good rep like in the link below. I don't mind paying well over the usual 300 dollar mark but I want the watch to be of good quality. Thanks James http://www.rolex.com/en/collection/rolex-g...del=M16613-0015 PS...I know its a newbie rep but its the one I need.
