  1. It's for the TW Classic...it's about a year old. One of the springbars appears slightly bent. Also, the hole in the case is off from gen. Is there any way to fix this? Thank Ubiq.
  2. Are there any links with pic's on this mod? Thanks.
  3. Thanks Now, how would one go about doing a swap on their TW Classic? Would this thing drop in easily?
  4. And, where can I buy genuine springbars 2mm or good aftermarket ones?
  5. Who cares about the stickers, even the serial numbers, can't we get these folks to tool up right?
  6. Here's the deal: What would you trade on a Folex rep? Proper crystal thickness for the laser etching? Proper magnification for R-lex markings on the band? Rehaut for the hologram sticker? This is a questionaire to prove a point ~ some factory in China (no offense intended) has their priorities in a mess...I would rather have them address the important aspects and put no effort into almost meaningless detail that no one will ever see and the ones that will won't be fooled. It's not perfection that I'm looking for, just some good old competence.
  7. Congratulations, Cray. Can't wait to see your pic's.
  8. I honestly don't care about the internal engravings. Who are they trying to trick with the engravings. In my humble opinion, they should put their attention to detail into the obvious aspects of a rollie, like proper case dimensions, crystal thickness, dail print, crown guards, crown and finishing up the watch with nice soft edges. The whole "cut my fingers" with my watch would be hillarious if it wasn't so sad. Am I alone on this here? (is common sense for common people or should these makers use some common sense?) On Edit: I guess if someone is trying to rob you, you can always throw the watch at the guy like a Ninja star...always looking at the bright side...)
  9. TW Classic is the only one I have observed thus far with the correct crystal height. To me, that is a major flaw on this rep. The rehaut would be the second most obvious flaw. CG's are too pointy, but okay. Crown is off a bit. This is still an exceptional piece for the money and would make any owner proud and Josh has excellent customer service.
  10. I completely agree that the Classic is a great way to go. It has the flaws that don't really bother me too much (incorrect hole location, solid midlink, slightly darker font). In my opinion too much magnification (MBW modern?) is almost worse than too little. The heavy case, deep rehaut that's respectful to the original, one of the very few crystals with the correct thickness above the bezel (very important in my opinion) are a major thumbs up. Last, the solid midlink bracelets are a must in my opinion, as they do not have a cheap feel (the hollow bracelets are technically correct, but are embarrasingly cheap feeling). I don't mind handing the watch over with the solid links. With the hollow links, I'm waiting for them to ask, "so where in Chinatown did you get this thing?" Also, on my watch, the nightime illumination is great and the crown screw threads are quality, just like gen. I just wish that they would make something at this level for the moderns out the door.
  11. Even though it may not be correct, I like the solid bracelet much better. It feels rich and quality compared to the poor hollow link ones.
  12. Win some, lose some. The flaws are acceptable to me, as most will never notice the hole pin size/location.
  13. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=6107 This is one QUALITY piece. Having held other reps, this one has the feel and appearance of gen. I don't know if it's my eyes or if the other reps have the R-Lex font too white/thick, but the print appears a little subdued. Your thoughts? (it should be noted that this rep is about 1 year old and there are slight improvements on the new Classic from the pic's I see online) Thanks!
  14. So far both reps of mine have been +3-4 seconds a day...ETA's...
  15. Good insurance coverage should not be too expensive, really. That is a lot of dough for a watch, but if you are in that wealth catagory, then all the more power to you. Let us know what you decide to do on that watch. Do you have any pic's?
  16. First off, how much will it cost to buy a new one? Second, this proves my point: ALWAYS BUY REPS.
  17. Perhaps I misread one of his posts, but that is how I interpreted it. I know from experience that when you are manufacturing under contract, your standards are going to be far more strict than outside of contract. If your spec's are off, then it will cost you big $$$, whereas producing for yourself, well, who cares? As long as they buy, why have strict quality control (cost/benefit analysis)? The more machining, inspecting and finishing steps, the more cost. Either way TW Classic is a great way to go. [the above has been a paid endorsement for Eddie Lee]
  18. I just received TW Classic sub used from Pelotudo on the boards. The quality is significantly better than the current lot of ETA's. Is it "perfect". Nope. Can it use some mods? Sure. What rep. can't, I ask? But, out the box it's real nice, especially considering what Craytonic said about the laser etching. I think that it's the best overall value, in a bang for the buck way. You get good customer service, a heavy Folex, accurate crystal thickness, decent magnification (close to gen), finest rehaut...and... according to Eddie Lee, made by OEM Rlx manufacturer (case/crystal) from 90's. (to me it matters not b/c it's a great watch).

  20. Do you have a link to River or contact info? Thanks!!
  21. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v646/jos...nt=DSC_0005.jpg This one is offered by Josh. What are your thoughts on the quality and accuracy of this piece? Does anyone else carry this rep? What is the actual name of this watch?
