  1. If you don't mind ordering from the States, I have a guy in Arizona that deals with gen parts.
  2. Is there a watch part encyclopedia? It all started with I will just get a nice rep. Then two. Then several months ago I start restoring my fathers datejust. Then a month ago, I start reading on frankens. I have never had an addiction (and I am not besmirching anyone who has), but I can't stop wanting to restore and mod stuff. I must have picked up 4 watches this week to work on. Now I am no where near the skill level needed to work on the movements. But I can source parts. Is there one (multiple) book(s), website, or database out there where you can find the part numbers? (I have the Omega Red Book coming which I will scan and anyone who wants a copy can have it).
  3. Welcome Eric. This is a tremendous place with so much to learn it will make your head spin. Enjoy it and great job on the Platinum membership.
  4. We can't give it to us because we aren't responsible with it. We have been borrowing (consumers) more than the GDP of the US for years. More debt is ridiculous and the world has been using the US consumer as the economic engine of the world. Now we can't pay and people are surprised? I honestly believe there is a dart board over at Treasury and the White House with totally random ideas on it and they take turns on what to do next.
  5. If you like it, then go for it. You are the one that has to wear it.
  6. Or one that LOCKS the wife's purse?
  7. Aston Martin Jaeger-LeCoultre AMVOX2 DBS Transponder Watch James Bond might drive an Aston Martin, but he wears an Omega. Too bad for 007. Anybody who has $37,900 to spare and wants to use a timepiece to access his or her car can order up a Jaeger-LeCoultre watch that will unlock the doors of his or her DBS. You do, however, still need to insert the sapphire key to start the car.
  8. I want to thank Cougaree for the effort. I am still looking for the part number.
  9. Anyone have the Omega Red Book? I am having the hardest part figuring out a part number? Want to thank Offshore for getting me this far. Please PM. Thanks in advance.
  10. Nice choice and enjoy it.
  11. And Shundi hits the nail on the head. My watchmaker is amazing. Problem is he is a small hole in the wall place and is Korean and his English is not good (though his English is way better than my Korean). Sooooo, I have to go out and find the parts. Is there a Omega reference book/website? I see Cousins has just about anything I want and I could just call Ofrei, but I was trying to avoid that to get this thing done fast.
  12. Thanks highoeyazmuhudee . I appreciate the input.
  13. Am I stuck dealing with Ofrei? Restoring Omega Seamaster Cosmic 2000 Picked this up for almost nothing and it runs. It has never been serviced in over 30 years. When I cracked the caseback, the caseback gasket basically turned to dust. This is a 366.0826 running on a Caliber 1022. Is Ofrei my only option? Thoughts, ideas, comments, funny anecdotes? Thanks.
  14. I discussed this with the Head of OB/GYN of a major hospital yesterday. She said this was absolutely ridiculous and that the Doctors involved with this should be severely reprimanded if not fired for doing this. I just happen to agree.
  15. Welcome to a tremendous community. While you are sipping your Woodford Reserve, check out Toad's Introduction section. He has compiled a great list for new members. WM9 is a dealer in the higher end reps. Check out BK, he deals with them here. Enjoy the site and the knowledge here will blow your mind.
  16. Not to worry Lani, the rest of us don't get tired of them.
  17. The watches are tremendous. But man, I really like the watch box. Did you buy those or have them made?
  18. Found this one as well (and I just bought one): http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=260344391134
  19. The one I found is on eBay in Australia and it under $10 +$7 for shipping. I am sure there are better ones out there, but for the price, I can't complain.
  20. I am thinking of picking up an inexpensive ultrasonic cleaner to clean bracelets and parts to use after the good ole' toothbrush rubdown. Any thoughts on these and how effective they are (which I guess would depend on the cleaner)?
  21. Thanks Chief. Exactly what I needed to know.
  22. The Zigmeister (Or anyone else who might know): I read you had a tough time with the bezel insert. How hard would it be to just add a gen bezel on this watch? Thanks.
  23. Wish they would do this in States.
  24. Very nice. I was just researching this!!! Thanks!
