  1. Well I took the epoxy to it, and at least now I can wear it. Fram.
  2. Hi guys, Got myself a UPO and I love it, I stripped the watch down to epoxy the hv valve and sort out the pearl. Well the ETA whent back in smoothly but the bezel is doing my head in!! I have been trying for about 6hrs now to refit it, I have made about 10 retaining springs out of guitar wire to replace the original one that looked mishapen after about the 40th attempt at fitting. there does seem to be a bit of damage around the lip where the retaining spring sits both on the case and the bezel which I have filed and sanded smooth only for it to appear again, but maybe thats just me getting desperate to fit it and using too much force. I am about to gab the epoxy and bloody glue it on in a minute!!!! Anyone with any ideas? some one must have had a similar problem and solved it? I have been trying the search function for about an hour now and cannot find anything useful, other than "using slight pressure the bezel will simply click back onto the case".....no it bl**dy wont!! All help appreciated before I ruin a good watch and epoxy the bezel on, just so I can wear it!! Thanks Fram.
  3. Hi mate, you could always drill it out, then fit a pin. Fram
  4. Thanks a lot for the info , it really is one of those simple but brilliant ideas that could work on any number of watches.. Cheers Fram
  5. Hi guys, After seeing the posts made by Ubi about using hour markers to replace pearls, I thought I would give it a go on the Porikaa. I am no watchsmith, so if I can do it, then nearly anyone can!! First I removed the bezel (using information found on this site!!). Then take off the bezel insert, done by CAREFULLY runnning a small blade under it (easy to do when the bezel is off the watch) its held on by double sided tape Blue Peter fans!! Then poke the pearl from the back of the insert with a tooth pick, and it pops off. Clean everything with white spirit to get the stickyness off. Then I simply replaced the pearl with an hour marker from a crappy 300m Prof rep and used epoxy to glue it in. Then re-assemble. This is thre first time I have attempted anything like this and it took about an hour start to finish. It doesn't look bang on original, I know, but I think its an improvement on how it is as standard. Please let me know what you think!! Cheers Fram P.S. I am no David Bailey, as is obviously apparent!!
  6. Nice job!! Are you going to tell us how you did it and what you used? Cheers Fram
  7. Hi mate yeah thats the lever you want, close the gap (between legs) to reduce speed and widen it to increase the speed of the movement, but use super fine adjustments like 0.5mm at a time. Hope this helps, just a noob myself!! Cheers Fram
  8. Got my Black/White today, absolutely fantastic, love it......Just trying to decide wether or not to go for the UPO now.... Reg is a top bloke to deal with, absolutely no problems recommending him to other members!! Cheers Fram.
  9. Just to let everyone know that Reg does not stock the 45mm they were a special order, so that will have to wait until next time..... Royler_g I think you can actually get spring bar removal tools, other than that have a quick search on here for PO strap removal as I am pretty sure this is a universal issue, for all PO reps. Cheers Fram.
  10. Thanks once again for your help, I ordered a black/white from him in the 42mm but did not know he had 45mm as well, might give him a quick e.mail to see if I can change my order (if he has 45mm in stock) but don't want to mess him about, if you know what I mean. Cheers Fram.
  11. Hi Numptyj, Got any pics mate? and was this a special one off for you or has he got stock of these do you know? Cheers Fram
  12. Does anyone know when Reg is back in th U.K.? I have a black with white reserved for me, to ship when he gets back, and the wait is killing me...... Cheers Fram
  13. Hi, I was just wondering if its possible to get a 'cheaper' version of the P.O. with a serial number on the back, possibly the 21j movement? I have had a good look but cannot seem to find one. Many thanks Fram.
  14. Hi guys, Well just wanted to say hello. I have been interested in watches pretty much all my life I dont know why just find them fascinating I suppose. I took the usual route of buying my first reps off the beach in some far distant land, and usually the hands had fallen off buy the time I got on the plane home, then.....WOW...the Internet arrived and so did the SWISS replica websites, you know the ones that say that their cases are actually from the same swiss factory that makes the originals, the faces are hand crafted by blind Tibetan monks, and the saphire crystal is actually moon rock that has been polished to perfection by kittens, all for the bargain price of 50 quid less than an original.....!!! So I got a bit more interested in getting my self a good one and have surfed the net looking at all types of sites from rep sellers to auction sites, and occasionally going into dealers to try the real deal on. Not an expert by any means, but I like to think I know the difference between good and horrendous. Cheers Fram
