  1. How good are the reps today? Well, let me tell you my story. Last year I graduated with my doctorate and decided I wanted a Rolex as my graduation present. I started researching the models and chose the Yachtmaster as my favorite. When searching online I came across RWG and decided to purchase a rep while I saved up some extra cash for the YM. I ordered a ETA Yachtmaster from Chris at Eurotimez. The first one was confiscated by customs (crappy luck for a first timer) but he quickly sent a replacement that arrived in great condition. It was so similar to a gen YM that I got compliments on it all the time. Other doctors and patients would frequently admire it and ask what kind it was. I felt this was a little too shiny for me so I opted for a model with a little less bling. My next favorite model was the Explorer II with white dial. I purchased a used rep through RWG's trade area to avoid going through customs. The rep looked and felt great. I wore it almost every day until last week when I decided to purchase the gen Explorer II. When I brought my gen home I handed both the rep and the gen to my wife and said 'Which one is the genuine Rolex?', After inspecting the two, my wife held up the REP! I pointed out how the gen's lume was better and how the dial markers were black and not silver to tell which was the gen. She didn't care, she just thought the rep looked to be the most expensive. So in summary: I can't consistently point out my gen from my rep when standing 2-3 feet away. My wife can't even tell while holding them. My rep YM has gotten me more compliments than my gen Explorer II. If I hadn't tried the reps first I wouldn't have gotten the rep I am most happy with. I thank all those on RWG for all the advice and for sharing their knowledge. Now I am looking for a Sub rep, to see if I want to buy a genuine Sub in the future. I'll post side-by-side pics when I can get the camera settings to give decent pictures. -- DJ
  2. Best Financial Advice: "Quit spending money Ass-hole!!!"
  3. My girl just hit 8 months old recently. It is amazing how exciting it is for every new achievement they make, first smile, rolling over, crawling, first teeth, standing, waving, etc. I am looking forward to the upcoming milestones and know you will enjoy many with your new family. Congratulations JJ. Do they make reps in infant sizes?
  4. SEIZED!!! Empty package delivered with note from customs.
  5. New doctor. I figured I need to pay off student loans rather than buy gens for now. Reps are addicting. Although dealing with customs and shipping seems to suck. DJ
  6. Congratulations!!! My wife and I just had our first baby a few months ago, a girl, and she is the most wonderful thing in the world. I hope all goes well for you and your wife Viz. I don't know where you live but we needed to trade in our car for an SUV/Crossover that had A/C and heater vents in the back seat. Otherwise the baby would burn up in the summer and freeze in the winter. We got a Buick Enclave. It's awesome. Buick Website
  7. I found the post where Lanikai explains that the best response is to do nothing. Sounds like he has plenty of experience with this. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=77656
  8. I was wondering the same thing. I have a package that has been held for two weeks now. Someone made a comment earlier that it is best to just not reply to customs at all. I was wondering what the best response to give them was. Should you say you didn't order anything? Or tell them you ordered the item for $15 or so? Anyone have experience here?
  9. Next you can tell us how you got the girl, took her home, and positioned the watch on the nightstand so she could be impressed by the superlume as you did it in the dark. Just be careful who you pick up or you might get one who will swipe that watch off the nightstand and try to pawn your fake Rolex. Then you'll be back to a naked wrist and no naked chicks.
  10. When ordering through EMS the package is transferred to and delivered by the US Postal Service (USPS). So the delivery procedure should be exactly like any other USPS package. If the postal workers feels it is safe, they will leave it on your doorstep, or in the mailbox. If you live in an area where they think it might get taken, they will take it back to the post office and leave you a notice on your door. You can then go to the post office and pick it up. You usually need to show some form of ID.
  11. Dallas customs has been holding my watch for the last 11 days. It was sent by Chris using EMS. It took 6 days to get from Asia to Dallas. So it looks like there is a lot of variation in EMS shipping and where the package hits customs.
  12. I am waiting on a rep that has been in Dallas for the last 10 days. It's driving me crazy. Sent from Thailand. This sucks... is Dallas typically slow like San Francisco? DJ
  13. I was actually reading a gen rolex forums discussion of the same topic. Most of them replied that when someone asks them if it is fake they get really offended. A few of them used digitalnrg's response and sarcastically said it was fake. But in either case, if you are wearing a gen and someone asks you if it is fake you would normally be pretty offended.
