Bought a watch from a member Post Office lost it, what now ?
webvan replied to webvan's topic in Introduction/Rules/Support
Does it really matter where the watch was lost ? It's lost, it's lost. @piratedzeus - Not sure about that, the price was "Price €70 shipped registered in EU". I see sellers specify, "not responsible for customs or loss", it wasn't the case there, besides "customs" wouldn't apply for a Euro to Euro shipping. Actually I'm not sure that disclaimer is really fair anyway, because the person shipping has to file a claim when mail is lost, so what would the incentive be for them to do that. I probably wouldn't buy from anyone putting that type of clause, it's just not fair on the buyer. Anyway I should at least get €32 back since that's what the Post Office said the would refund. @Pylon - registered = tracking @peyups - it's been 2 months now, it's really unlikely the watch will ever show up. Expanding this topic a bit, does anyone know what happens when "customs" find a a rep? Do they just destroy it and that's it or does the buyer/seller get a letter saying his parcel was destroyed for such and such reason ? -

2008 MBK Patek Philippe Aquanaut (5165) Review
webvan replied to Corgi's topic in Other Watch Reviews
Reading this I infer that The Zigmeister doesn't work on 21J's ? You coudl try adjusting it yourself there is a topic on how to do that here. RG=Repgeek ? Any reason to think it's not the same version as the one sold by Robert (T4D/PWC) ? The blue one I briefly had certainly felt comfortable, too bad I broke the strap (the little "teeth" actually) while putting it back (I bought it second hand from a smoker and had washed the band to try to get rid of the stench...). -

My problem with the MBW Nautilus with SS is that I can't adjust properly to my wrist, either too loose or too tight! Anyway back to the Aquanaut, is the CN 5167 the PWC model? If not where did you get it? -
Played with a 5711G second hand gen the other day, Grey Gold, wow...nice watch, but the grey dial is undramatic. One thing I noticed is that the sweeping hand is super smooth, it really "flies"!

Yes I see what you mean, I saw a secondhand gen yesterday and it seemed tiny, actually it looked even smaller than 38mm. -

Looking forward to the pics, your other Aquanaut is the one from PWC/T4D? Sadly I never received the black dial and black straps T4D sent me after I broke the strap on my blue model and decided to switch it to black. Why do you call them "Nauty" ? -
Different colors for GMT hand of GMTII 50th - 116710 ?
webvan replied to webvan's topic in The Rolex Area
Huh...it's not because it's a rep that they need to get the color wrong if it is indeed wrong, which I'm not sure at this point, it's probably ok actualy. I'll probably go for a second-hand ETA at some point, if you like mine you can have it for $100 ;-) Can't seem to edit that first message, here is a pic of mine : -

webvan replied to webvan's topic in The Rolex Area
Well it seems color is not the biggest problem of that watch based on this excellent comparison here : http://www.replica-watch.info/phpBB3/viewt...=393253#p393253 -
Been wanting to get a GMT IIc for a while and having to pick a replacement watch after sending back an order I chose the GMTIIc Asian from Watcheden. Came in yesterday, looks nice, but one problem though is that the GMT hand is "grass green", not "wimbledon green" as on the gen I saw in a shop and compared to the other reps in the reviews here. You can actually tell from from the picture on their site, but I thought this was due to lighting : Watcheden Asian version : http://tinyurl.com/8uph6z Watcheden ETA version : http://tinyurl.com/8emrr6 What do you guys think ?

Been wondering about that too!

Thanks, and were you able to order the Tourbillon from him here or did you have to get it on eBay ?

Was about to contact him myself, were you able to get through to him ?

Putting back Tag Heuer 69 with Miyota 1L45 ?

Putting back Tag Heuer 69 with Miyota 1L45 ?

Well hope was shortlived, I did manage to get the parts back together but the hands was rubbing against the hours...wanted to try again, now I can't get the crown back in, that hobby is getting expensive ! -
Putting back Tag Heuer 69 with Miyota 1L45 ?
webvan replied to webvan's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
Wow, thanks for the quick replies ! You guys make it sound easy, makes me feel better about getting back together...here we go ! Will update ASAP ! Does the side matter for the washer ? It sems to be more copperlike/shinier on one side. -
The digital side of my new Tag Heuer Monaco 69 went berzerk so I decided to open it up...when I did that it reset it for some reason. So far so good ! Put it back together, unfortunately the wrong way round...no biggie I'll open it again and reverse it...unfortunately in the process the analog side got moved and the hands came off, now I'm kind of stuck figuring what goes where, so I could use some help. Here are the pieces : The wheel with the teeth clearly goes in the middle, not sure what to do with the small wheel/washer though...when I put back the hands the hours just "floats", the minutes is ok though. Thanks for any help !

Thanks, I take it my model is a 44mm ? I'm going to have to get up to speed! Still like that watch, feels like a tank. Wonder if these reps are watertight at all? -

webvan replied to webvan's topic in The Panerai Area
Thanks, I was wondering if maybe some "older" models would have come without the Panerai markings ? I see on your avatar that you have a similar model 'maybe not SS ?) with the Panerai markings. -
Not sure where to post this, did a search on "Marina Militare" but it didn't bring up anything obvious, couldn't locate a stickied guide either, so here goes, just a quick post to say how happy I am with the "Marina Militare" I just got from forum member justasgood. I don't know much about Panerai reps yet, but this one looks really nice ! Solid, nice dial, nice glass, etc...can it get any better ? Don't see any Panerai marking though, so not sure what type of model it is, anyone care to educate me quickly ? Here's a pic he used for his add :
