I’manage a workshop of mec.machining.... so before to change it... I’d like to modify the case I have...
Otherwise I’ll change it ...
Ok, ok, i know I’m mad .
Inviato dal mio iPhone utilizzando Tapatalkok but I think alot of pain for not much gain? The cartel watch is only US$120 plus shipping. You can case, bezel, and bracelet....
Anyway good luck with it all

can I ask you why after everyone has provided you feedback on the rubbish case, are you still using it for a project?
Looking that the retainer / rehaut, it doesnt appear to be one suitable for a plexi - that looks more designed for a sapphire. Google what a genuine 5513 case looks like and you will see what i'm referring to.
Why don't you buy a cartel 5513? the case is constructed similar to a genuine watch and not expensive. It will also come with hands and dial which you could recycle.

the rep ones aren't very good so best to pick up used insert.
You could also try WSO for their black SMP insert.

Very nice. One of my all time favourite watches. Is it a keeper?

Sorry the title should have been 2254.5000.

Been meaning to share this project but better late than never.
Background on this is I found this watch posted for sale locally here in Australia - it came without a bracelet. It was a non-runner with damaged bezel, stripped crown and dial has seen some water damage. Picked it up for under U$500 so thought worth a fix up!
Here's a picture pre-repair. As you can see - not in great shape.
Here's a picture post-repair. Replaced the insert, serviced the movement (no real damage) and replaced the crown and tube and added a genuine bracelet. Hope you guys like it.

Only the closed factory ones actually get close to genuine.
One of the biggest tells of the black SMP was the wrong HEV position and the pearl in the bezel.
If you are not picky, you can pick up a used quartz Black SMP - they pretty much fit the bill
-
Ah ok! fair enough
-
what have you done with the 593 endlinks? snipped off the ears?
-
seiko LMs are great watches! good one

No real good 93150 bracelet contenders to be honest.
All have their flaws. Best to pick up a used genuine.

Considering we have now confirm his is a scammer - why can't we name and shame him publicly? At least it will warn other members if they ever deal with him.

the option is "send money to family and friends"
-
thanks guys
Not hard to switch back - the lume on the new insert pearl is bugging me though since the dial and hands no longer glow!

got it - thanks guys
Sorry for sidetracking the thread!

Really?
I was always told that the Silix 6538 cases were too big compared to the genuine?
What am I missing here?
-
great thanks!
How big were the Silix ones?
thought everyone said the Silix ones were notably bigger?
-
the width, Rolojack?
-
looks great!
Can I ask you what is the diameter of the case? excluding the crown?
thanks
-
looks great!

"I'm actually in the process of trying to build a vintage Heuer diver from odd parts"
Me too but mine is a T/H 1000 from just after Heuer became TAG Heuer. Have a new bezel insert and hands plus a sapphire crystal to replace the MG that came in it and a new Eta 955.112 but never put it together because a watch like mine is not worth much at all now. The watches like the one pictured above are worth quite a bit today though.
Here is a list of older models:

It seems that watch snobs hate simple TAG Heuer quartz time and date dive models for some reason. Maybe because they are quartz, or they hate reliable watches that do not cost much, are deep water resistant, rugged, accurate, and will run for 20 years with a batt change now and then...or maybe because they like paying $1000 for a mech watch 'tune up' every few years so they can brag about it.
Keep us posted on this R.
I will provide a break down on what I'm trying to do shortly but still collecting parts.
A good condition TH 1000 series still fetches $500+ but most are in bad condition with the dial notorious for peeling
SeaGull 2130 (2824 clone) Are there different grades?

there are actually clones of the clones now and hence the price. you can tell by the dial side (the set up isn't the same)
