that is very very well done!
congrats!

Marrick you tease LOL .....Can't wait till see the finish product. Judging from your past projects, I'm sure this one will be a winner as well ! But the question remains, when are ya going to pull the trigger on a PO?
I think I just dont have enough love for the PO atm, the replica is almost PERFECT! all i have heard is great reviews of it, I can't imagine anyone not wanting to buy that thing!
With me, I think once I complete the GMT and Speedmaster project, I may research and get the PO. I'm still thinking of getting a Railmaster XXL, you know the 49mm one. Man thats like wearing a CD on your wrist.......
-
Ok lets see what we have here:
1 x Omega 1128 GMT movement
1 x Omega hour/min/sec (notice how its black in some areas)
I actually instead of buying Genuine Omega GMT hands for the white version, I just got Genuine Omega Sword hands and painted them black, hahahha..
Waiting for 2 things:
1. GMT wheel
2. The Case and dial.
Coming next week hopefully so i can get this baby on the road.

of course i'm in a giving mood....
PM me triplehd....

is that equivalent to saying, hands and logo are very shiny metal, like the original?
i thought this sort of behavior was just a matter of what the metal is reflecting. if you're wearing a black shirt and your watch hands reflect that, they'll look black or disappear on the black dial; if you're wearing a bright pink shirt, the hands should reflect that; etc...
?
hahaha....maybe not everyone has graduated from harvard university with a "Basic behaviour of shiny metals" degree.
I think some people need to attend "metals 101"
nice pictures by the way, another Omega PO!
Makes me want one.....I don't think i'll cave in for this though...I already have too many Omegas...
@ Jsph
you may want to check repairs and upgrades.....

she is indeed a beauty.
tell me -- those look like _screws_ linking the bracelet together. is that right?
congratulations!
jsph
Pins i'm afraid.
I think Omega uses Pins in all of their Seamaster collection. I know constellation uses screws.
-
wow! definitely a nice watch!
it will definitely go quick!
-
@ Jsph
I just sand it down, very simple. I'm getting ready for my Omega GMT white project, need to warm up the tools again, lots of mods...
-
very nice watch, triplehd, and nice mods to boot. shame about the second hand in particular, but them's the breaks, i guess. seems the gmt poses a lot more obstacles to using genuine parts, as compared to the base seamaster (2254.50). regardless, great looking watch -- seamaster gmt is where it's at! -- and i'm sure you'll definitely be enjoying wearing this one. thanks for sharing the pics and everything. best,
jsph
actually Jsph, The 2254.50 gave me alot of problems. The version that i got was the Paul's version, which was the same that other dealers were providing.
The bezel also didnt fit well, so i had to milled down the bezel insert for it to sit flush. The Genuine crystal will not fit into the case, so i had to secure it with other methods, i think its not much better in terms of taking in OEM parts.
-
I thought he wrote that the second hand didn't fit right. Not the bezel?
Maybe I just didn't understand...
Sorry Space, my bad there,
Triplehd actually Pm'ed me telling me that the bezel didnt fit well and i got that mixed up within this thread.
My apologies....
-
yes its been done, quite a few members have done it.
Ranging from putting in OEM 007 dial, to Standard SMP dial to GMT dial.
dial feet are a little shorter on the OEM from what i've heard, some members had to use Double sided tape to make sure the dial stays on, but generally it should be fine.
-
My favorite GMT!
Why didn't you use the genuine bezel and insert?
The bezel is the main reason I'm holding back on this rep.
read what he wrote again, he stated it didnt fit well compared to the replica bezel.
-
Well caught panerai153!
thats a very interesting point that you've made, and its given me some caution when approaching the SM 300.
thanks!
-
hey hey!
the long awaited GMT!
nice!!
i'm actually working on my White GMT.
Will post pictures of it when its done.
should be good too!

Hi guys...hoping some of you guys can help me here.
I'm after the Crown for the Omega Speedmaster automatic reduced.
Caseback says : ST 172 0032.
Model ref is: 3510.50.
I've had a look on OFREI, i think it may be this one
scroll towards the end, and you'll find Genuine Omega Crown Stainless Steel Bestfit 8100/1664
can someone confirm or have any advice?
thanks in advance!
-

Project one:

- awaiting case and other parts.
that is all for now i guess

for crying out loud guys...its just a internet forum....as much as i like it, it doesnt fulfill anything if my postcount was 2 million....
i'm sure we all know who are the old schoolers are and who has knowledge in replica watches with memory from RWG.
so it shouldn't really matter....
-
if i spend alot of money on a genuine rolex, and i was told by my authorised dealer that it wasnt genuine, I WOULD GO TO THE NEAREST WATCHMAKER TO EXAMINE THE MOVEMENT.
HOW HAS THIS NOT BECOME A FIRST PRIORITY TO BRIANK996?
instead he's pondering about it and asking questions on the internet...hoping to find accurate answers from pictures given to us.....
unbelievable....
-
Hahaha, yep yep.....Ive been there since I was 12!
but you're...what....only 14 now....
UNDERAGE
-
I think blue coverings are also on genuine omegas.
pictures aren't clear enough, but it comes with box and papers, i think it is genuine.
