  1. Yeah, I noticed it last night and thought I would be clever and reply to each of his posts with one word that would would line up on the feed to form a complete sentence vertically. It got a little complicated when I realized I had to do it in reverse order for the feed. So I sh!t canned the idea! But I did alert MOB that we have a potential scammer running up his post count.

  2. Exactly! Interaction and being part of the community proves that you're investing time being here and are likely to be more trustworthy.

Right!!! But wait… I sent you $100 too!!! Wait… what?

In all seriousness, if you play smart and use your gut, that'll get you at least 90% there. There are great suggestions here and even greater lessons learn on this forum. When in doubt, send a PM to an established and respected member asking if they know anything about the individual in question. That should get you the remaining 10%.

  3. OP, just food for thought but the problem might be a bad crown clutch and not keyless? A number of TC subs have had crown issues. I believe TC posted a thread on it on his website.

Either way, good luck and beautiful pics- thx for posting!

    +1

I've had similar issues with the crown. Feels as if it disengages while turning. I almost need to pull on it a bit.

  4. Happy Thanksgiving guys! I agree, despite our differences and opinions, this is a group of great individuals. You guys make me laugh, think, and most of all connect me to different ways to view the world around me! For that, I'm eternally thankful!

Having never met most of you, I still look forward to seeing you everyday!

    So here's to you!!!

  5. Kevin their is a saying g not all Muslims are terrorist but all terrorist are Muslims. The root of the problem is that the Koran endorses killing of infidels and praises this behavior. If you don't think this is true you don't know the Koran. It also says in the book that is it OK to deceive to advance Islam. Muslim must reassess their religion. The religion of Islam is faulty and not FROM God. THE non terrorist Muslim cannot be against the terrorists because it is Islam. THAT IS WHY IT'S CALL FUNDAMENTALIST ISLAND TERROR. Their book condones it. Hence conversion to non Muslim faith is the only way to stop this or extermination of Islam or discussion that Islam is faulty

I am getting pretty [censored] tired of this quote.

"not all Muslims are terrorist but all terrorist are Muslims"

I think we made a pretty clear case that this quote is a big, fat, pile of smelly dog $hit!!!

I'm invoking P's Rule #1… Don't argue with ignorance or the insane.

    I'm out!

  6. I feel for the Syrian people, I truly do.   However, the mid-east does not welcome western interference.   Why are the Saudi's doing nothing?

The Saudi Royal Family is barely hanging on to power. They're a heartbeat away from being driven out. My bet is that knowledge is going to keep them out of the fight.

Saudi Arabia's #2 export? Radical Islam.

    Betcha didn't know that!

  7. No, There's a huge difference in the Sikh temple shooting and what happened in Paris. The moron who shot up the temple didn't want anything. He was a mental incompetent who wanted to kill some people. He had no demands, no ideology, no rationale. And as to that link you sent I've just been perusing it. They classify JFK's assassination as a terrorist event. As a matter of fact they claim that pretty much EVERYTHING is a terrorist event regardless of the motivation of the perpetrators. While some could be argued between say terrorism or hate crime or political action, they're calling almost everything terrorism. Terrorism by definition must have a goal that they think they can achieve by their violent actions. Many of the things illustrated in that list simply don't. Many of them were just to work of complete crazies with no demands at all, or with no rational demands.  They're calling the Navy Yard shooting a criminal act too. We all know the religion of the shooter, don't we? Yet they call the Sikh temple shooting right wing terrorism. I think they've got an agenda with their classification system. It's more than a little bit biased.

Let me try to give you another example that may shed some light on "classifications".

Norway, 2011, a man goes to a Muslim retreat and slaughters 77 people in cold blood. A nut… a psychopath…as crazy as Coco Puffs! Here it would've been classified a "Hate Crime". In Europe it's called Terrorism!!! Plain and simple! How is it different from the Sikh Temple shootings?

A guy goes into a movie theater and shoots it up! Terror? You're damn straight!

Terrorism is any act designed to cause terror. It's worth repeating… TERRORISM IS ANY ACT DESIGNED TO CAUSE TERROR. How many people were afraid to go to the movies? Yeah! That qualifies!

ISIL beheading Christians, terrorism or hate crime? By your definition, a hate crime.

It's not as simple as you want to think!

Like I said in the very beginning, this is complex.

The authorities and the media control how information is disseminated to the public. How else can they control us?

  8. The Sikh temple shooting wasn't a terrorist attack, it was a hate crime. I see where they're saying all these attacks are by white Christians and Latinos, but I can't find a single news article where the attackers weren't Muslim except for the hate crimes and the far left environmental whackos (who are mostly white and athiest) who targeted buildings and equipment and so on. Please enlighten me with links to actual news stories because I've already wasted an hour looking and can't find any. All I can find are hate crimes and stuff that happened 20 years ago or better.

One and the same! It depends how the media and local authorities want to report it. Call these terrorist attacks and the public goes into a panic. It's all about controlling the public and flow of information. SOP!!!

Face it… the public is basically mushrooms! Kept in the dark and fed $hit!!! And that's the way the government wants it.

  9. So, based on what you know and what we don't know, what's the answer to this mess?   Stay the course?   If you can't beat 'em, join 'em?

I wish that I had the answer, bud.

I can say this much, that the consensus for a long term strategy is to eliminate their recruiting pool by shifting their ideology. But that's not going to be easy while we still have interests in the Middle East. ISIL isn't only recruiting young Muslims, they're also recruiting non-Muslims. Yes, there are non-Muslims fighting for ISIL!!! We created this mess. And that's why they're successful in recruiting people to their cause. This is not an enemy that we can defeat in a conventional way. Military action only makes them stronger or creates a new virus out of the rubble.

So the strategy is to maintain vigilance and take out pocket cells. Unfortunately this is going to become a way of life. It's a long term plan.

I too am disillusioned with this country that I love so much! We lack leadership at the highest levels. They're more interested in fighting amongst themselves than fighting for the good of this country. Even worse, I don't see any light at the end of the tunnel.

Having a taco shack on some Caribbean beach is starting to look mighty inviting!

  10. Nope! You guys are right!

Maybe we should round up all the Muslims in Europe and make them wear a Crescent. Then relocate them to special camps where we can keep an eye on them. Maybe even reduce some numbers if you know what I mean.

And in the US maybe we should put on some special robes and wear hoods then run around like a mob and display Muslim terrorists from high places.

    Sound familiar?

I know that you're not saying that. But how long will it take before it gets there. Sentiment seems to be heading in that direction.

I would like to think that as a culture we've moved past that. That we practice restraint, and act with emotional intelligence.

The solution is simple… or rather the simple answer that will solve the world's problems is… Genocide!

Or is that wrong? Maybe we need to show restraint and emotional intelligence and find another way?

    Cooler heads need to prevail!

I know that I went to an extreme. Sometimes you need to slap someone to help them see the direction their going.

Hell, I've taken out my fair share of terrorists. But we knew who they were and what they did. They were all very bad people. The vast majority had no religious affiliation. But there were some Muslims. I won't lie about that. BUT WE KNEW WHO THEY WERE AND WHAT THEY DID! If we were able to take them alive, we would. Loss of life was considered a failure… from any side.

You couldn't get into this unit if you could not show, restraint, compassion, emotional and mental intelligence.

Bombing them into tomorrow fuels the cause! It's actually part of their recruiting strategy.

"I know what I know… you don't know what I know… but I know what you don't know." Said by a terror expert during one of our intel briefings. That always resonated with me when I wanted to shoot from the hip without knowing all the facts.

If I've offended you, then I apologize. Really! But that's what I meant to do. Sometimes that's what it takes. But I tried to do it in a most respectful way.

  11. I think it's for me important to clarify that the FBI numbers are US only. Those have not changed significantly.

The European stats are last years numbers.

Quoting Israeli numbers is like burning down someone's home then asking them what they think of fire. It'll be a bit skewed... hitting too close to home.

Look, in my military career I was a member of a "task force" whose primary focus was counterterrorism. I don't expect the general public to know what I know, but at least consider that I may know a little bit more about this.

I just want to steer opinions away from lumping all individuals in a particular group and labeling them into what their not.

There are many terror groups out there, including Buddhist Terror groups. Hard to believe. Just because you don't hear of it on the news does not mean that it does not exist. Some of the worst the world will ever see are actually in the heart of Africa.

Again, just to clarify my point.

Opinions are like A$$holes, we all have one! Some are bigger than others!

I love the fact that despite that we all have different views, we still have a forum. And that is good!
