  1. I don't like the rubber strap (especially the Pro Diver, with BREITLING written down it, eugh, the Ocean Racer isn't so bad) but leather, croc and steel/ti all look great Unfortunately, big error with the faux-croc strap pictured. The gen straps have the croc skin wrapped around the edges to give it a consistent look and make it more durable. This rep is just cut off at the edge and painted with kote. Here's a pic of the gen that shows the wrapping clearly:
  2. Is this the newer version you speak of? http://www.jpc8118.com/0000blsa10021-super...bph-p-4886.html
  3. On the white dial Super Avenger?
  4. OK, so a little fantasy exercise here. Some characters in movies/books/TV shows and games are well known for the watches they wear, others aren't or don't even wear one. So, I'll name a few characters and you say what you think a good watch (rep or gen, or say for each, your choice) would suit them - and you can add to the list of characters yourself. If the character already wears a watch, don't pick the one they already wear even if you think it's the best choice! Pick a second best in that case. I'll start with: James Bond - so no Rolex Sub or Omega Seamaster. Danny Archer - from Blood Diamond, no Breitling Chrono Avenger. Indianna Jones - don't recall him wearing a watch. Neo - from the Matrix, don't think he wears a watch. Vic Mackey - from the Shield, no Cartier SA Must 21.
  5. I'd like box and papers for my reps... No, not to convince people they're genuine (after all, who is going to see them?) just because it completes the set so to speak. Feels a bit more special. With Breitlings in particular I like the little leather carry case they come with. I don't think of having a gen looking certificate as any different to having a gen looking logo on the watch. If you only want a rep Rolex because the design looks good, well you could get one that says Kolex instead of Rolex and avoid legal complications!
  6. The old Seawolf was. This is the new one, which is stainless. Breitling seems to be dropping the use of titanium with the Chrono Avenger making way for the Skyland and so on.
  7. Yeh I'm also after a white dial SA, was hoping it would be good as white dials seem to have a tendency to be off
  8. Not an accurate rep, but hey, I'm sure you didn't pay much for it, if it works and you like the look of it, wear it all you like. Some things wrong with it: Case shape is wrong, the gen has almost straight lines, angularly cut. This rep has curves. The 12 o'clock subdial hand is silver on the gen, red on this rep. The subdials are completely wrong. The gen has a 30, 10, 20 dial at 12 o'clock, a 12, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 dial at 6 o'clock, and a 60, 20, 40 dial at 3 o'clock. The chequering on the bezel should go all the way to the edge. The hour indices are wrong. All of them except the 4 o'clock marker should be 'cut off' by the subdials. The pushers are too fat and the thinner 'stem' part is too long. The crown is too short. The case back should have the model number A13362, not D13362. There should be a serial number underneath it also. They have spaced out the text too much to compensate for the lack of a serial number. The case back is too small also, it should go right to the edges of the case in between the lugs. The strap should be brown on the reverse side I think. The buckle is the wrong shape and the Breitling logo looks like it is etched instead of stamped/applied. The strap should have white stitching down either side on the outside.
  9. I returned a watch to Ruby and it took 5 weeks to reach her I think (I sent registered and tracked it online).
  10. Can someone confirm that the 'Swiss ETA' movements in models like this, the BCE and Superocean Steelfish are not actually Swiss ETAs? Or is that not the case?
  11. Yellow dial!!! Must have!
  12. The Super Avenger has had three dials over its life: the small wings, the big wings, and now the baton markers. This is a rep of the big wings dial, which has a 'cut off' 8 numeral. The older small wings dial, which you've linked pictures of, had a full 8, but you can see that this dial has both the newer cut-off 8 and the big applied wings logo. You can see the dial this is a rep of here: http://www.blowers-jewellers.co.uk/images2...g/w2275_s_c.JPG http://www.blowers-jewellers.co.uk/images2...ng/s11702_c.JPG And the older small wings/full 8 dial here: http://www.blowers-jewellers.co.uk/images2...eravenger_c.JPG
  13. Thanks, but it doesn't look like he stocks the Super Avenger. I may just go with one of the drop-shipping (if this is true) dealers - I don't think the sloppy lume is such a big deal from the pictures I've seen, though someone may correct me. Here's a question: when I bought my last rep from Ruby, she emailed me several digital photos of my watch prior to shipping. Do Precious Time/Josh do this? If so, does that mean that the factory, not them, takes the pics and emails them to the dealer for forwarding to the customer?
  14. Ah, thanks. Are there any dealers who don't, and who stock this watch? If I bought used it would have to be in Europe - UK here, so need to avoid customs. Plus I'd prefer it in new condition really.
  15. Josh and Precious Time both have it for $328, plus $30 shipping. Anywhere cheaper or with better service? If not, which of these is most likely to offer the best service? Before I order I'm going to email and ask if they'll pick me out one with a good lume job, as I hear some can be sloppy (and my BCE from Ruby had very sloppy lume ) - is one more likely to do this than the other? Thanks
  16. I saw someone with a .gif avatar of Sean Connery showing off his Rolex by lighter-light. Anyone know who it was? I wanted to show the .gif to a friend...
  17. Alanytical, What size is your wrist?

What's Josh's 'track record'? About to order another Breitling from him...
  19. Couple of questions: 1) How much would I get a genuine 24mm black Breitling calf strap for? New/used? Does anyone have one they're looking to sell? 2) How good are the rep deployment clasps and straps? Like this one: http://www.jpc8118.com/bla10102-leather-st...hes-p-2383.html 3) If I can't afford a gen strap, I'm thinking of getting a rep deployment, but losing the strap and putting the clasp on an after market alligator (can't seem to find any croc) like this one: http://www.thewatchprince.com/s.nl/it.A/id.3029/.f Is there anyone on here who does or can recommend an aftermarket 24mm black or dark brown calfskin/croc/alligator (gen croc/gator, not effect)? Preferably with white stitching. Lastly, I'm mulling which dial colour to get my Super Avenger in. I might well add a genuine dial later so I can always change the colour. Are there any 'rules' to follow when choosing dial colour in relation to strap colour? I was going to go with blue or black but I'm now considering white... Are the white rep dials any good? Thanks
  20. I like that it's a stainless steel non-chrono with the chunky crown (boo to titanium in my opinion), but I wish the dial had more silver to it - more like the Super Avenger and less like the Skyland.
  21. I've never liked the blacksteel until I saw it on that third strap, so my vote is for that one
  22. Where can I get a Swiss ETA 7750 movement to fir a Breitling SA or AS? How much can I expect to pay?
  23. Heh, I come from right near Wokingham. Let me know the name of the place if they can do it and I'll get it done (when I find a dial) whenever I'm back up there
  24. I'd also like to find a gen SA dial in the UK (though I'd preferably like the older arabic version myself). Will a watchsmith be able to fit the dial for me if I can find one? How much are the dials and where did you get them from?
