Anybody watches Alton Brown, "Good Eats" on the Food Network? On several episodes he wears a sub, looks gen. On another he wears a pam, from the looks of the characteristic large crown guard. Can't tell which model.
Thanks for sharing your experience. I read it with great interest since I have never been to Shenzhen. I am sure I wouldn't be able to haggle like you did. Great job.
My main intent is to share that photo of bent/twisted GMT hand. I have seen hands fallen off or loose on watches, but not bent/twisted like that. Looks like the GMT should be pointing to "6" o'clock if not bent. I also think it a gen but bad price given the observable damage and not knowing whether there are other hidden damage.
Also not just blurry pictures but perfect pictues showing a gen at 10:10.
Looking at Ebay to see what's going rate for a rolex GMT II, and saw this one. He wants a lot for it too. If he is honest, he should have mentioned the problem.

Another reason to stay away from listings that don't show a good actual picture of their watch.
440 is magnetic, while 316 is not. Just use a magnet to check if you think the MBW is 440. 440 has no nicket while 316 has 11-14% nickel. I doubt 440 is used because it is magnetic.
