You're totally crazy
Ken
if i have any more of these 80+ hour weeks, i really might go crazy
oh well, it pays the bills (and funds my watch addiction
)

Here's an other shot of Tritium in tube: the first time I saw it, I was somehow disappointed : I thought it would glow stronger than lume. It's not the case. But it lasts longer...something like 25 years
hmmm....not sure if you're right re: tritium lasting longer. i'm pretty sure i remember ziggy saying that superluminova will never lose it luminous qualities. i believe what you are thinking about is that tritium glows relatively consistently at all times, whereas superluminova glows very brightly after it is charged, then fades over time, such that after superluminova fades to a certain level, tritium glows brighter given its brightness doesn't "fade" as much after being charged.
can anyone else confirm that i'm not making this stuff up?

i've been really busy at work lately (i'm talking 80+ hour weeks), and always cut it close in the morning to maximize the amount of sleep i'm getting. however, despite being busy, i still like to change up what watch i'm wearing each day to go with my mood, clothes, etc. given i don't have a winder and how much i like to rotate through my collection (rarely wearing the same watch twice in the same week), my watch is always "dead" when i put in on in the morning.
while it would probably take about a minute to wind the watch and set the time when i put it on, i'm finding myself throwing the watch on and heading off to work instead. often times i will forget to set the time until much later in the day (ie. today it's 3:45 pm and i just realized i still haven't set the time on my great white).
this has happened to me quite a bit recently. does this happen to anyone else, or am i totally crazy?

Expect a review and detailed primer on the various versions of the Chrono Avenger in the next few days!
looking forward to your review (i'm sure quite a few others are too) -- like b16a2 said the pearl looks OK on this one, but it is clearly a closed 4 bezel. would be interested to see a close up shot of the dial (which i'm sure you'll do in your chrono avenger guide).
anyways, congrats on the new piece

are they going to charge you to replace the crystal? if not, you don't have much to lose. plus, if it really bothers you and you are going to send it off anyways, might as well give it a shot (be sure to be careful with the bezel though)....
just my $0.02,

agreed w/ euno -- congrats to RWG's king of bling [insert bling emoticon here]
now that i think about it, why don't we have a diamond crusted emoticon??!?! (must remember to PM admin about this).
anyways, congrats jfreeman

I said loudly "You stupid piece of junk!" and BASHED it on the railing 5 or 6 times
@nanuq, i think this is probably the best re-post of all time. that story will NEVER get old

oddly enough, the thing that helped me slow down buying pams was purchasing one of homer's eight watch panerai watch boxes. i then decided that my maximum number of pams would be eight. with that end in mind, i started choosing my pams much more carefully.
i'm really happy with my eight:
-063 on prada black strap
-111h pvd coated by rbj on angus ultimate black rubber strap
-112h on a wide assortment of straps
-183h on watch boys black alligator
-187 on either rubber or europelli vintage caramel shell cordovan
-212 on mario paci 2 black with ivory stitching
-217 on europelli black shell cordovan w/ copper stitching
-232 on mario paci papaya brown
are there other pams that i'd like to have? sure, i'd gladly take an 089, 092, 194, 210, 231 and a 252. but i don't NEED to have them in my collection.

i've been meaning to suggest the following idea for a while:
is it possible to have a "favorite threads" function, so that you can click on a particular button or something similar to add a thread to a "my favorite threads" section? i often find myself emailing myself threads that i find and would like to keep for reference, etc. it would be nice to have them all neatly tucked away in one place.
would this functionality be difficult to create/implement? would anyone else find this useful, or am on my own with this one?

Looks like the perfect Fiddy to me.
something seems a little backwards though
@aapxp, beautiful 217....seeing your pics makes me yearn for my 217, which is off being AR coated and ziggyfied at the moment....

ps, i really like your "polaroid" pictures -- very fun & creative...

you seem to be on quite the anti-HBB rant (two separate posts in general discussion about it)....

i'm about to spend the next seven weeks traveling for work (being gone from home for two week stretches), so this question is extremely relevant to me at the moment.
for the first two week stretch of the trip i'm guessing i'll probably bring the following:
-063 on prada and (i'll also bring a spare brown mario paci strap)
-breitling steelfish on stainless steel (can't believe how much i like this one, particularly the bracelet)
-iwc costeau diver (it was a tough choice for the last spot in the watch case)
btw, when actually traveling i'll be wearing one watch and keeping the other two in this great two watch case i got off ebay -- the quality of this case (particularly the inside) is top notch.
deltatahoe
ps, sorry for no pictures pugwash -- i was hoping to snap some shots of the new breitling steelfish superocean this weekend, but just didn't get a chance....maybe i'll take a pic of the three watches & watch case tonight and come back and post it here

that's a nice looking gator strap
i think you're right -- the dark honey looks a little light for a black dial watch though
i wonder if you could just squeeze a 22mm watch boys alligator strap (see here) into the 21mm lugs
deltatahoe

@timepiece, i got my breitling strap on ebay; i actually have another black one that i'm considering selling (it's posted in the trading forum here, which also has a link to the seller's ebay listings)-- let me know if you're interested...
also, the lugs on the 3717 are 21mm...

thanks for the update lello; should we just PM you about the time the particular datewheel (in my case, ingy) we're looking for is expected to be completed according to your schedule, or are you going to start new threads accepting orders?
thanks again,

i just received mine this week and i have to say -- i'm really surprised at how much i like it. in particular, i'm a huge fan of the bracelet. all of the other breitling bracelets i've had were either way too bling (navitimer, chronomat evolution) or way to dull (chrono avenger). this one is just right.
now i'm not sure what to do with the genuine rubber strap i purchased assuming i'd like this one better on a strap

What I'm saying is that reps DO hold their value well-if you pick the right ones but that I'd rather own genuine pieces than replicas if they only cost twice the price. Also a used genuine watch that has done most of it's depreciating is a commodity that's more easily saleable outside specialist boards like this.
Don't get me wrong I'm still a fan of reps when they are priced right- ultimate PO at $250 for example but when you start getting to and surpassing the $400 mark the logic is starting to stretch a little....
i think we're on the same page febus....at this point i'm really happy w/ my rep collection; i can't see myself buying more than a couple reps in the foreseeable future. instead i'll be saving up for a jlc reverso squadra hometime....i'm just hoping i have the self control to wait a while before purchasing it....

Welcome, Tony???? I wonderd what you would do with your spare time! LOL
welcome to RWG blair

As for our used reps here secondhand prices seem to be running at a similar level to 'collectors' from our EU members. I think I'm one of the few who gave a 25% discount on used but good condition watches when I came to sell.......
not sure i understand what you are trying to say here...
are you saying used reps do or don't retain their value very well? if reps do retain their value (our trading board would seem to indicate they do), this makes your "i have started buying used gens b/c i can resell them and recoup the cost" argument moot....
