  1. hi there,

not to throw another point of comparison in there, but joshua just released an updated version of the santos 100 (with an updated case and clasp). you can see his version here; note that it is actually 42mm, not 38mm as listed on his site.

    anyways, hope this helps.

    Hi people,

Does anybody know if there are differences between Andrew's CARTIER SANTOS 100 and King's CARTIER SANTOS 100.

Please look at the following pages for pics:

    Trusty: http://www.trustytime.com/index.php?main_p...;products_id=47

    King: http://www.cclv.net/CARTIER-054.htm

    Please help me with this.

    Thanks for your help!

  2. joshua has a tt santos 100 w/ eta movement (w/ new updated case & clasp no less)...

you should confirm with him that it is 42mm (the larger version) though -- his website says 38 mm (but bres3000 said joshua told him it was mislabeled).

too expensive, must find a better way, all I really need now are the dimension of that dial, and DW can make it. I will ask him if he can put his hands on a santos 100 TT eta that I'd buy for experimentations...
  3. delta = where the sacramento river meets the san francisco bay

    tahoe = lake tahoe

both good for outdoor recreation. delta in the summer (wakeboarding) and tahoe in the winter (snowboarding).

  4. in my mind it depends on the watch. some watches just look better one way or the other. for instance, i think my breitling navitimer looks 2x classier on a strap, while i can't really imagine wearing my sub/po on anything but a bracelet. most pams look good on both, which is another testament to their strange, addicting appeal...

  5. so i've been eyeing the cartier santos 100; i like it because i think the white dial makes for a dressy watch.

there has been lots of discussion about the xlarge 44mm size santos 100 (including flaws such as swiss made spacing, clasp problems, strap quality, etc), but i just noticed that joshua is offering the medium 38mm size santos 100 with the correct swiss made spacing and a new clasp.

i have somewhat smaller wrists, and i'm thinking the 38mm size might actually lend itself to being a dressier watch than the 44mm size.

any thoughts? anybody pulled the trigger on the new 38mm version yet? if so, pictures and/or comments about the size, strap quality, etc would be great...

  6. @lollipop, great looking dress watch. i agree w/ craytonic, cartiers are underrated here.

a couple questions: which size santos 100 is this? joshua has an updated 38 mm (w/ correct swiss made & new clasp, etc), but trusty & others have a 44 mm...on the same note, what are the measurements of the gen strap at the lugs?

given the low quality rep strap & lack of quality non-genuine straps for cartier, i think the genuine strap is definitely the way to go with cartier...

  7. i saw robin williams the other day and quickly realized he was wearing a panerai; i got a pretty good look at it, and i think it was a 212. it was a black chronograph with an engraved bezel, so i guess it could have also been a 196 or 250. btw, he was wearing it on a rubber panerai strap. beautiful watch.

anyone else seen any celebrities sporting panerais?

  8. @ star, i like your win-win-win conflict resolution skills - michael from 'the office' would be proud.

    oh yeah, and bump.

I'd like to offer up an unused Black rubber Panerai strap (24x22) with polished buckle. The buyer with the highest offer can donate their offer here to the edge appeal. Win-win-win situation. I find a new home for this beautiful pristine strap ) YOU recieve a great NEW strap, perfect for the summer months ahead (lightweight/comfortable...no need to worry about sweat or water stains :brow: ) and we help out a fellow member of our community. Care to offer and help?? Please PM with any offer

    Thank You

    Timm

I'll post a pic tonight, but I think we all know the strap

  9. i've currently eyeing the breitling chrono avenger (titanium), and have a couple questions (i posted this in the noob section a week or so ago, but didn't get much of a response):

    1) anyone know where to get a leather strap w/ a titanium buckle to match the titanium watch? i think the watch looks very classy on a leather strap (see oliver's pics for perfect example), but don't want the standard breitling ss buckle w/ a titanium watch.

    2) anyone know of a legit dealer that has this watch in swiss movement? king's website had one, but she responded saying the factory has stopped making it. yodaddynukka mentioned eddie carries one, but is apparently asking big $$'s.

    3) what are peoples thoughts on white vs. black? i have several black dial watches & would like a white dial watch to change things up; chrono avenger white dial looks like it might fill that niche nicely.

looking forward to hearing everyone's two cents...
