  1. Ok to anyone who has this watch. I have the ETA version, and I find it really hard to screw the crown in when it gets to the last few turns. I have to get a very firm grip and turn it in tiny incremements. Does anyone else have to do the same, or am I

    a.) Being a weakling or/and

b.) maybe going to have a problem with the stem in the foreseeable future?

  2. O owned a 4th gen and have just ordered an Ultimate, so I cant give a great judgement until it arrives, but on the aesthetics....

In general the pearl on the Ultimate looks much better. It doesnt stick out and over the top of the silver ring like on the fourth gen. The minute hand was ever so slightly too short on the 4th gen, hardly noticeable. The clasp on my old 4th gen seemed a little flimsy, but from what I've heard the UPO has a very good level of fit and finish

    However,

The UPO has the wrong Omega symbol (it has little feet that kick up, on the 45mm they shouldn't have the upturns) The UPO was having reports of the crown stem threading. Now this hasn't been reported for a while so hopefully they have fixed this problem, but it's something to be aware of.

So neither are perfect, so it all depends on what kind of flaws you can live with, and what size you want. I loved the 4th gen, only reason I sold it was because a friend wanted it so much. So I am replacing it with an UPO to get the next size up, and in my opinion it is the better of the two watches

  3. Usually the reps like PO's are sourced from the same factories by every dealer, so you should receive a very similar watch. The quality control between each watch does sometimes differ though! There are some watches such as the submariners where dealers have a variety of different options and watches available where that statement won't ring true.

I bought a PO from Paul a while ago, was a pleasure to deal with and the PO was brilliant!

  4. I think this kind of question needs to be placed in context. It depends on the individual. With the line of work that I want to go into after uni, I couldn't entertain any type of body art. However, if there is no restrictions then go with what you really want. I think personally tatoo's look better away from watches, but I'm not really into that kind of thing. Like you say if you go down to a point where if necessary you could wear a long sleeved shirt to cover it, and roll the sleeves back then that would be an option I would defeinitely consider, but like I said it's really down to the indiviual and the circumstances.

  5. Personally, I would buy the Asian movement, and have it serviced by The Zigmeister, or wait until the movement collapses and get an ETA installed. When I say this, it doesn't mean it is inevitable. I have many Asian 7750 movements, none of which have been serviced and they all work fine. The brushing of the S/S can be done by yours truly. A scotch pad does the job, another member did just that and it looked very good!

The limited edition fighters were brushed finished, all those that weren't would have been a polished finish.
