  1. All of the above !

It depends on the watch like say the SMP chrono , bezel alignment could be done so easily at the factory , no AR coating and the HE valve is off ...

I also like chronos and have more than 20 , I wish there was a better selection between Swiss & Asian when it comes to chronos but most are the Asian version ...

    Zed

Zed don't worry about the AR and HE Valve on the SMP chrono they are both correct for that model. The chrono version (gen) has the HE Valve smack on the 10 o'clock marker, and there is no AR either, apart from the bezel and the screws instead of pins in the bracelet you have a stunning and very accurate watch :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  2. Sorry cableguy, didnt mean to infer that you specifically were going to fool anyone, just that if one were trying to fool someone then my following statement would apply.

Yes it does, I used to own a civic VTi (USA theyre the Si as far as I know)

I sold her in the end as I wasn't driving regularly enough to warrant keeping her. Wish I hadn't as the next few drivers really abused her, but a friend of mine is now restoring it. Are you into Honda's?

  3. Well after ordering the Breitling on Friday, it turned up this morning. Great service by the dealer, and excellent communication.

I have posted a rough history of my search for this watch, but I'l give a brief outline.

About three years ago I started becoming interested in watches, Breitling in particular. I took a shining to the Aerospace, mainly due to its simplistic design, and functionality. I then found out that Breitling every so often released special editions, one of which was the Harrier Edition. I knew I had to buy it.

I sourced one about a year ago, but unfortunately missed out on it. A whole year later, I managed to get my hands on one.

(Please excuse my poor pictures the camera isn't all that good, but it gives a rough idea)

First up, the box itself, the 'professional series' boxset.....

AR shot. The Breitling AR is very heavy. Turns a vey deep blue/purple in some lights, and the crystal disappears in low light situations.

A rather blurred shot of the band and the watch case. The aerospace was manufactured with performance in mind. It is constructed from Titanium, and is incredibly light!

Overall I am very impressed. I am glad I have finally got my holy grail watch.

The quality of the watch itself is amazing. The bracelet is very good (slightly flimsy due to being so light). The clasp closes really nicely, and the bezel rotates much differently from the reps I have.

    Thanks for reading

  4. If it's a Chrono Avenger (44mm) then yes, if it's meant to be the Super Avenger (48ish mm) then it's just a not very well made rep. There is one that somebody sourced that wasn't all that bad, but if you want something in terms of quality like the new Steelfish, unfotunately we haven't been graced with one......yet

  5. Welcome to the board.

Well that last question all depends on how you wear it.

If you wear them to 'fool' people then people will be curious as to where you have got your new found stash if money. If you are in a very high paid job they may just think you have found a new hobby. For me I wear them as reps and friends and family know which are reps, if Im on the street and someone says 'nice watch' I thank them, but if I am outright asked, then I tell them. 'wow is that gen?' - No its a rep

I haven't really been approached by someone in the street, but Ive seen people looking, but my family and friends are amazed at the quality of the reps that are available.

  6. I think gen is the only way to go at the moment. They do have a much better feel than the replica rubber straps I own. I have a Panerai one which has been put to shame in terms of 'feel' by a genuine strap. Try an AD they might give you a better price, but Im not sure how much the RRP is on these things. The seller that the link goes to on eb@y is always getting hold of them so there's no rush. Do buy it though :p
