I do believe that the Co-axial movement in the genuine Planet Oceans actually makes the movement a bit more juddery than a normal 28k movement? I wonder then if the asian movement will be more like this? If its reliable it could be a fantastic bargain!!!!

I bought a genuine one for £80 (not sure, but roughly $170USD?) and from the pics that strap looks very good indeed!!!! The markings look good, and also the raised bit on the other side looks good too!

The new Ultimate PO would get my vote. I haven't bought one just yet, but from various reviews all I can conclude is; WOW!!!!

Depending on dates I will try and come along aswell!

If this project continues in this way and the watch itself will be of the same quality and accuracy the price you're selling this watch is way too cheap.... I would have paid Big Bang bucks ($) for this baby

I was just thinking I paid my deposit on a watch that might have had a few flaws (bracelet and logo position). Now its going to be incredibly accurate, and Im still paying the same price. I have never encountered this before! Angus, you have certainly achieved a new standard when it comes to reps, thank you!!!!!!!

I usually leave it about 4 months before buying. However I'm on the bandwagon for Anugus' Chronomat already!

i usually wait a month or two when the price comes down. sometimes i dont though! BTW.....it's time to get the ultimate PO josh and andrew are selling. i doubt it can get any better. it's more than "pretty good"

Sorry don't mean to go off on a different topic, but Im sure that the genuine doesn't have an AR coating! Will make it less accurate of you do get an AR coating with the purple hue.

By the sounds of it you've done a search on the dealers. Can't really help you anymore than that, its really down to whether you want to save $100 or not!

I've had a dealing with Paul, with no problem, so I would go with him and save the money. There are going to be others who say go with Andrew because he's very reputable.

I really think this new version that Angus is offering is way ahead of the 2nd generation. Ok there might be a few small things with the bracelet, which if it is a protoype might be ironed out, but in looking at the watch itself, there is no comparison! Great job Angus!

Have seen a gen in the AD, and Im pretty certain it didn't have any AR coating, not even on the inside of the crystal. It does look very good this rep!!!!!! One of the most accurate out at the moment.

Precisely. This post isnt answering the rhetorical question, but using it as an example.....

I spent god knows how much on my old civic vti, it went faster than it did when i first bought it, but for all the money I spent I could well have bought a quicker car in the first place. It was a hobby, something I enjoyed.

With modding, I see it as something I employ in everything I do in life. You start with something, a possession, or an activity and make it better and more effective. Its fuilfilling when you look back at how object x or activity x used to be, and how it has progressed to where it is today.

So back to the original post, people spend so much money on mods as it allows us improve the watch and see it progress from being accurate, to very accurate, and sometimes indistinguishable from the gen, for a fraction of the price. Each person may have a different motive to do such a thing, but ultimately, the same motivation in the sense of enjoyment and achivement.

In 'getting' alot of money for mods, I don't think this is the case. The amount of work and precision that goes into various mods, I think it is a very reasonable price for a great service!
