  1. As far as accuracy goes, I would say the Bentley GT is the most accurate. The outer ring that turns with the bezel is slightly too thick/wide, and the 'swilzerland' engraving on the back. In most photos I've seen, these flaws are very hard to see!

The navitimer with dials at 3,6,9; the date window is too small, and the date wheel is too low. However the rest of the watch is amazing, and would be very unlikely to be 'called out'

The serie special, the date wndow is slightly too small again, and sometimes the sub dials look as if they are raised which put me off. Also it is meant to be a brushed finish, not polished stainless steel.

My personal preference for accuracy would be the Bentley GT. However, the watch I would actually buy would be the navitimer with subdials at 3,6,9 from joshua.

  2. WOW!

I got a PAM 005 from davidsen to day and its beautiful. Case back is great, no recessed pin, lume, crown looks great, its wonderful! I would recommend one to anyone who loves PAM's! Unfortunately my camera isnt working so I can't post pics!

I'm looking to buy a rubber Panerai strap, does anyone know if any dealers sell them? Or maybe a nice light tan one, with a Panerai buckle?

    Best Wishes

  3. 1.)

I think it depends where ytou buy them from. I have a navitimer from Joshua and the subdials sit lovely in the surface, but some I have seen do have a stepped effect to them. I especially noticed it on the 'serie speciale' navitimer.

I have the 3,6,9 version, and the subdials are very good, no step up at all.

    2.)

As for colour, it would depend on what you have now.

I have a black navitimer, and would be inclined to buy a white 44mm GT. But I think as a whole, the black ones are 'classier looking'

There are a few differences between the gen and the rep, one being the outer dial that is connected to the bezel is slightly thickker on the rep. Therefore would probably be less noticeable in the white version as there is less contrast. However some people have reported that the white dial isnt the same colour as used on the genuine.

  4. A piece of advice, heed it well, don't buy Panerai!

    Sound advice!

I am going to be purchasing my first Pam soon (005 from Davidsen when I get back from holiday) and I can assure you that it will not be my last. At first I didnt see the attraction, but they are so unique, and really grow on you!

Enjoy the forum, Im a newbie as well, and have learnt so much in such little time, the people on here are excellent!

    Wear the Omega well!

  5. The main reasons I would go for a GT (44mm) over the for Bentley (48mm) edition.............

The gen 48mm edition has a 30 second chronograph, which means the second hand completes a rotation in 30 seconds rather than the normal 60. To me this is a big flaw, as the 7750 movement doesnt do this. And the chronos are the wrong way around.

The date window on the 48mm is also slightly out!

However on the 44mm, the date looks really good as far as Breitlings go! No 30second chronograph, so the movement is more accurate. Only thing I can see at the moment is that 'Swilzerland' engraving.

  6. WOW!

Just checked out that 44mm GT Breitling.

It looks awesome. I have a Breitling for Bentley book here, listing all the models with pics etc....

On examination, I cant see any flaws apart from the 'Swilzerland' on the back, and Im not sure if I would have noticed that if it hadnt been mentioned!

Chrono's are in the right places, the date looks good........

Think I might be pulling the trigger very shortly on this one!

  7. Our friends have usually been blown away by my reps, specifically the 1665 MBW and the 2893-2 Pams, 029 & 063. They could not believe these guys were not the real deal

Wow, just looked at those two pams on Joshua's site, and cant see a flaw in them, is there anything wrong or are they close to perfect!!!!

The rep I wear is just assumed to be real by people that I meet. Some very quality timepieces out there now! Am close to buying a Ti but not sure if I'l like the titanium in the flesh, might have to visit an AD to see one for real!

  8. Hi, pretty new to Panerai, have searched this website and with this model Im thinking about pulling the trigger. Is the crown guard meant to be brushed on this model? Looks like the pin is pretty good, doesnt look too recessed? Are there any other things I should be aware of?

Something about these Pams I'm really starting to like, and want my first one to be the most accurate.

    Thanks in advance.

  9. When I first joined this forum, I couldnt understand the hype about Panerai. But the 111 is slowly bringing me around, I think Im catching the Panerai bug! That is a beautiful watch!

Being a newb to Panerai, this may be a silly question but is it a gen? Looking at the pin and it doesnt look recessed, and the crown looks good, just trying to learn a bit!? Any feedback much appreciated!

  10. I've never seen a navitimer with correct date window. The gen is much bigger and 'stepped' the font is also different.

I have one of Joshua's and apart from that it really is very good, even the 'B' on the end of the stop watch second hand is good!

Due to the dials on most BreitlinGs being very complicated, I find that you dont really notice the date window that much.
