In some situations yes, but not in relation to replica's, common sense should prevail here. If you take a rep into an AD to buy a strap, it will go down like a lead balloon. My advice would be to buy it over the internet, if you want to see it on the watch first, buy a very cheap strap that is of similar colour, or have a look at some pictures on here, I'm sure the combination you are after would have been covered somewhere, hope this is of help.

Great looking watch!!! From what I read getting a nice AR coating on that rep really makes it. I assume a band would help too. I guess I'm a little concerned of the movement failing with the sec @ 6. They do have the 7 day pwr reserve that doesn't have that, but not sure if those are as visually accurate. Decisions!

There is someone in Europe who puts graphite onto the gears which seems to revive the movements. As far as the 7 day power reserve, that's on the 5001 Porto's, the 3714's come with a standard 42 hours power reserve.

And you're correct the AR will really transform this rep.....

To be fair, there aren't any accurate replica's of this type of Patek due to the complicated movements they use. One would buy this type of Patek due to the similar design and style rather than being accurate to the gen. It is beautiful NSM, wear it well!

Its the 7750 with gears to transfer the seconds, it's the same movement they used in the breitling Blackbird and Bentley

I have also a gen SMP (auto) and could not be happier. I cannot agree that the reps feel any better in the hand as the Omega Seamaster is well reknowned for being a robust and quality watch. As for the AR crystal.......the internal coating doesn't make all that much difference....are you sure you weren't duped and sold a rep with AR coating?

There are many variations of this watch, each with their own flaws, it depends on what ones you can live with. My advise is have a read through on the Pam section and decide for yourself which flaws you cna most live with.

I will be the first to admit I am no Rolex expert, however in talking about thick bezel numbers, it is vital to remember that these pictures are much larger than the watch itself (this isn't aimed at anyone, but just a general observation). Therefore the difference in thickness is emphasised by the pictures. I remember seeing pictures of Panerai 111/005's and then ordering my first. The watch proportions look so much different in the flesh than in the pictures. This is a very good replica - I still believe the price is very high though!

Link isn't working, but I will add that there hasn't been any good replica's of this model. If it looks very different from the picture below it isn't real, but if it looks the same then it's genuine.

That is the best SA I have seen! Does it have a gen bezel? All that needs is an AR coating and Lello datewheel and it will be almost spot on to the gen!

Can they not just send you a datewheel and a new strap, it would be much easier than sending the while watch back!
