  1. But in QC'ing the watches that means they have to inspect every single watch. Using dropshipping, it dramatically reduces the amount of time they spend on each watch. If they are selling 100's per week (just a number from the air) I am pretty certain the time/money they save from dropshipping would outwiegh the cost of employing more people to QC the watches prior to sending them out.

QC is not just in the customer's interest - it usually lowers total costs for the seller as well. Do anyone really think Dell or Bic pen or Timex or Tampax does QC out of the goodness of their heart? They do it because they make more money when they do it than when they don't do it.

This i very true, however, it could also be said that the sellers here are not doing it out of the kindness of their hearts. Therefore if it was truley cheaper to QC than it was to replace a few faulty watches, I'm sure they would.

  2. Angus isn't based in the UK, but you shouldn't have any problems ordering from him, I never have, he is a great 'collector'

As far as the differences, the only main difference I am aware of is that the 111e is a sausagedial (lume is applied onto the dial) and the 111h is a sandwich dial (lume is underneath and the numbers and markers are cut out of the black part of the dial and layered on top).

  3. I don't think much has changed though. The movements are getting better, and the quality of the watches is far better than when I first started collecting reps. I don't see that the watches these days are any less reliable, in fact I would say on the contrary.

I think it is our expectations that have increased. The dollar is weak, so prices seem to have gone up, the quality of the watches is improving almost to gen standard now, so we expect more.

When we start buying reps thinking we will get reliable genuine like watches, that is when this hobby becomes worthless. I truely believe we should only buy reps for fun, otherwise one will always be disappointed.

  4. In terms of the 'prestige ladder' Tag Heuer would come above Oris. However I could not comment on build quality. I've heard many reports that genuine Tag's are not all that brilliant when compared to Omega in terms of build quality. I cannot give a subjective view on this because the last Tag I handled was a while ago, and I wasn't really looking at the build quality.

  5. I remember having a 005 from Davidsen, I could not fault the quality it was incredible. However I met with another board member who had some modded pieces, and it made mine look insignificant. For the extra moeny modded is the only way to, for a cheaper Pam, Angus' Ultimates are pretty good.

Hope you get your problem sorted Unclejay, a Pam on your wrist whilst driving that Stingray would go nicely :1a:

  6. People who go to buy a Hublot would still buy a Hublot regardless of whether they can get a replica for cheaper. The kind of person that spends that amount on a watch that has little history when compared to Rolex/IWC etc... won't let the possbility of getting a rep for 10% of the price affect their purchase. I on the other hand..... :D

  7. Should be a good match! Im a Liverpool fan down here in Brighton, so Il be cheering them on via the TV. Stamford Bridge is a good ground, I remember watching Tottenham there a fair few years ago now, the atmosphere was excellent, but tonight it will be immense! Have a good one! Wear a Pam 127 or something big, might catch a glimpse of it on TV haha
