  1. Looks really nice.

Correct datewheel in a 7750 rep? The world must be ending. :D

Unfortunately By-tor, this is the basic lay out movement, I am pretty certain we can be safe in the knowledge the world won't end, it is unlikely we'll ever see a good datefont made for the chrono version :)

  2. @ F15DOC, I am in total admiration of your job, and what you do for your country. I won't go into detail here but my goal was always to join the RAF as a pilot. I really take my hat off to the job you guys do, it's hard work, and at a time when we are fighting battles all over the globe, with resources being stretched to their limits, never has it been so evident how highly professional the US and UK military personnel are.

  3. Nice post! In years to come, we could even see the rise of the chinese movements making into genuines, I feel the balance is beginning to shift from quality issues to marketing issues that are preventing such a shift at the moment....?

  4. This is indeed a tricky situation, because as far as they know, it's a genuine watch that is trying to pass through customs at a lesser value. If it was truly being returned due to servicing, why would it be sent uninsured with a 70 dollar price tag....and you can't explain it has been sent like this because it is a rep otherwise they'll keep it. As has been mentioned try making up a service receipt, but I personally wouldn't hold my breath, its the gamble we take in buying reps unfortunately. If you can send it back without paying customs charges try that.

  5. Trusty has the Chopard for just a hair above $100 and actually mentions it has a synthetic sapphire with AR...

I thought it was hard to beat...

Interestingly enough, his SFSO is $60 more but only has a mineral crystal with no mention of AR.

Do you guys know why there would be what seems to be somewhat of a discrepancy ?

The IWC Ingenieur aren't really my cup of tea. Maybe they'll grow on me just like the PAMs did. At first I didn't really see what the fuss was about with PAM and now the 111h is high up on my hit list.

The SOSF feels very much like a genuine watch, it is very robust. I have never handles the Chopard, but the 60USD could be a mix of demand, and also the build quality. The SOSF is one of the best made watches I have handled. It doesn't come with AR, but I believe that an AR coating can be added to the mineral glass with good results.
