There is one correctly repped version sold by nicerepl*ca.com, the one posted in my link above. You can clearly see difference between dial and subs' colour.

but this all grey version with automatic in white seems to be a fantasy rep: there' s no difference between dial and subs colour, only under very strong lighting and certain angles will you notice a very slight difference. Not sure why they did it as they generally know better.

Do you have the watch with you, or are you assuming it is only obvious under certain lighting conditions? I only ask because in the picture above (puretime) you can see a slight difference, but the dealers photo's usually always portray a watch differently to normal pictures and when it's on the wrist. If you do have one could you post some pics?

It doesn't make it a fantasy rep per se because its very close apart from the subdials being slightly too light in colour.

I think in this instance where the OP is asking for a dress watch to go with a suit, that would discount sports watches? I agree that some sports watches go very well with a suit; an Omega, an Ebel........but I wouldn't count them as a dress watch

its a good question, i have been wondering that myself. I'm getting the black dial one though cause i have looked at those black and gold GMT or sub's and just have never pulled the trigger so this is perfect.

Yeh the gold suits the black much more, whereas I find myself prefering the stainless case on the white dial version. Looking forward to seeing the pics!

It's the grey dial with black subdials (supposedly) If you have the Breitling Chronolog 2008 edition, go to page 45, it's meant to be number 152. This one (I don't think the rep has dark enough subdials though - or it might just be the lighting);

When I pictur a dress watch, I picture a leather strap, and a white dial with no complications. I would thoroughly recommend the GO Senator Sixties, see my review below for more details

Just had a quick look on his website, the one you have posted is accurate, here is the graphite version that we're referring to;

As Yodap has said, if this the grey version then it has darker subdials and the 'automatic' in white, so this replica is accurate (if it's the graphite version it's meant to have automatic in red). It's often very hard to tell the colours from dealers websites.

You can pick up Swiss 7750 movement from dealers here, however they are very expensive. I would recommend going for an asian version which are much better for the money in my opinion.

Have a look around the site and get familiar with it. Many scam sites claim the watch has a swiss movement where in actual fact it has an asian. If you buy a swiss 7750 from dealers here you will get swiss 7750, but expect to pay 700USD upwards for one.

No, the slide on the side is fixed as a decoration only. If the Chinese were to ever replicate a minute repeater mechanism in a 98USD rep, I think many watch companies would go out of business

Over the years of collecting watches, IWC has become a firm favourite in my choice of brands. When the cartel released the IWC minute repeater I tried to source it by other means. Unfortunately the wrong model was sourced, but I had already part written the review. So instead of letting it go to waste, here is my review of the IWC Minute Repeater through use of internet pictures.

History

The first Minute Repeater (hereinafter referred to as MR) was introduced in 1995. The mechanism was the result of 50,000 man hours. MRs are unique in their design as they notify the wearer of the time by emitting various sounds on an internal gong. This was particularly useful in the age where electric light was not available, and so this made telling the time at night possible.

When the slide is at its lowest position it emits pure tones to represent the time. When the repeater is at the top (depressed) it is ready for action. The mechanism is designed such that it always keeps up with the correct time, so it will instantly chime the correct time when the MR slide is activated.

Then in 2007 the newer version of the MR was released. The diameter of the case increased 1mm to 43 mm, the original weighing in at 42mm. The overall look of the watch is similar in design, only with little changes to give it a more modern look, without losing its class and elegance.

Firstly, the attention to detail on AP's is incredibe. They are very nicely finished (as you would expect from a high end brand)

However, with the RO series, the basic date model struggles to grap my attention. It looks so nice in the pictures, but whenever I see it on the wrist it just just doesn't sit right. I think it's because for me it is a cross between the size and appearance of a Rolex Datejust and the case of an IWC Ingy, and the two just don't combine well for me.

If I were to buy an AP RO, it would have to be the ROO Chrono, the size and the chrono's suit the shape of the case better in my opinion.

My question is, of the following three watches, which ones come with AR coating from Omega (gen watches): Planet Ocean, SMP, Aqua Terra. All??

PO - Double AR

SMP - single inner AR

Aqua Terra - Old version single AR (I Think), New released version double AR

So in relation to your SMP, although the genuine doesn't have double AR, it will make the dial 'pop' if you get a double AR coating applied to it. The SMP has one of the best dials for AR (even if the gen only has a single coating)

Im not usually into gold but it seems to suit the styling of the watch!

IWC really is setting the benchmark, they are some beautiful releases! The only one I don't like is the non-chrono Aquatimer, it looks a bit cheap to me.

yeah the gen is probably the best, and on the bay some of them are priced pretty low in compare to the automatic breitlings, i was thinking of a rep project since my uncle has a gen dial lying around, so i thought i would aquire the 'standard' eta digi-analog with only the lower digital windows being smaller then the modded breitling mvmt, then fit the dail on it and put it into a rep case.

so did you have the gen aerospace? thats cool, how was the watch? how did you enjoy it ? how its like to try on the crown to change features?

Do you know which version of the dial it is? If it is a newer version you could pick up a fairly old Aerospace and swap the newer dial into it.

It was indeed gen, and the watch was amazing, never came off of my wrist. I only sold it due to personal reasons.

The crown takes a bit of getting used to, but it's fascinating how it works. So many different functions operated by just turning and pulling the crown! If you are keen on the styling of the watch then I would fully recommend a purchase!

I personally don't care for the Ingy design....much more of a VCO fan

In the genuine world there are two types of people;

1) Those who are willing to buy a watch without papers, for them the watch is waht they want.

2) Those who want the complete package

I don't see why there should be any difference here. We all have a passion for watches and for the little things in life. It's the finer details that we appreciate, it's what makes us who we are. Obtaining boxes and papers can add that final touch and the finer detail to the larger picture.

Yodap is a stand up guy, I think it's rather distasteful to start using the scam word. I also think its rather hypocritical because we are all here buying fake goods and scamming the genuine brands whilst supporting an illegal trade.

If a website start in a description by using the terms 'AAA Grade' be wary

The photo shown is a gen Aerospace Chronometer, which was the last edition of that styled case before the Avantage was released.

If they come in titanium its a scam, there are no titanium Aerospace reps.

My advice would be to put some money away each month for the genuine. They can be bought pretty cheaply if you opt for the Minute Repeater (which was the one before the Chronometer, and ths two before the Avantage). I used t own one and loved it, it is without a doubt the most comfortable watch I have ever owned.

Not sure where you could source a standard movement from, but there aren't any good reps out there that I know of unfortunately. If there are they're most likely to be poorly made stainless steel ones.
