  1. Can you help me with advice, can I sell on the forum or is it not possible and I can not locate the sales area you mentioned/once again I apologize for that post it is removed and I thank you for the correction I do not wish to offend

To sell in the normal sales section you need to upgrade (which costs less than 3USD per month)

To sell in the auction/fundraiser you need to have been a member here for more than 60 days. I have just noticed you have only just joined us, so that is why you can't post in these latter two sections. Try upgrading.

  2. No worries and thank you for rectifying the mistake so speedily :)

Check out the Fundraiser sales section, and also the normal section, if you go for the latter you will need to upgrade to Supporter status.

  3. Id love to see some pictures of this on Kings site, their pictures show the wathes much better. I want to see this double AR claim. It looks like its the same case as the old one, and has design characteristics of the UPO.....so surely the UPO should come with Double AR pretty soon too if they are indeed from the same factory!?

I'm going to hold out for the Speedy on this one, no date to be sunken, and what a classic!

  4. lol - other than that, well it looks... I'll reserve till I see in flesh. I'd prefer a solid case on this, these mvts really do look bad on open back, still that price for a double AR'd dress watch ain't bad

haha, they are minor flaws, but it's sometimes the niggly ones that make all the difference!

I think in the flesh this will look pretty good. My GO SS was about teh same price, and factory pictures did it no justice. I have a feeling that for the money this could be quite a good purchase for IWC fans!

  5. What are the indexes?

    the indexes looks bad or?

    The main things I can see are;

    1) The numbers are too big

    2) The crown is too big

    3) The hand stack is too big

    4) The minute hand is too short

    5) The hands look to be convex, whereas the replica's look flat

    6) The lugs are straight, whereas the genuine's are curved

  6. It is a great watch. They have been discontinued, but don't be fooled that they'll be a good investment opportunity, they won't be. You should buy it because you like the watch, not beac use it will hold it's value.

The 2254 is often thought of as being Omega's tool watch, whereas the 2253 is more popular because of its link with Bond. Both are beautiful, and they are among the most comfortable watches to wear, they are so well balanced!

If you don't buy it, let me know how much he wants for it, I might be interested ;)

  7. Members really need to stop posting pictures of this watch, I am getting itchy fingers for this one! :) It looks like such a nice shade of blue, the type that would be really versatile! Another nice watch that you own Slask!

I also have to wear a suit from time to time and i use my TAG Link or a 104 for those days. Due to the big chrono buttons on the 1911 i tend to use that wearing a shirt/jeans/jacket but not with a suit. Its a damn nice watch though :)

Excellent post have been keen to hear about peoples thoughts regarding this matter.

  8. Talk about dangling the carrot :) The 3714-01 is just absolutely stunning, one day I hope to have the genuine in my collection, until then I make the most of posts like yours TP :)

I personally have always preferred it on the black, for me the brown strap over does the gold accents on the dial and hands. It looks beautiful on both though!

  9. Thanks B for the reply (by the way I loved ur Porto review)

    Can I ask a cupple more Q's ?

1: How does it compare sizewise with say the Spitfire Chrono that I just got from here http://www.rwg.cc/members/Sold-IWC-3717-02...html&hl=iwc

2: Does this rep have any major flaws ? ie the issues that scare me from the Guese ( I already own 2 duds  ?

I am becoming a huge fan of IWC

    Cheers

I can't really comment on the size as I haven't owned either of them. The only real flaws are the date wheels and the chrono pushers being slightly too big. And yes it's the same watch that features in Lani's review. It's a really beautiful IWC this one!

  10. The cost of the reps is one thing....

another matter to consider is how much is our community costing the gen manufacturers by skipping on the genuine aticles....

Assuming of course that if there were no reps, people could afford to buy the real thing......which if true, begs the question why does this community exist.

Even if we were to take a figure of $10million, spread it amongst 20 manufacturers (because not everyone would buy from the same brand - and there are hundreds out there)) that's only $500k per brand. That's a drop in the ocean for them.

  11. 1: What is the exact model ? I cant find anything close to ur piccies

2: Is it as purchased or modded ?

3: Can I ask where I could get one

4: Is that double AR ?

    1) IWC Portofino Chrono

    2) Purschased - comes from the factory like that, all that it needs to be even more accurate is an ETA date/daywheel (

  12. Unfortunately customs is an inherent problem with this hobby. Did they not even to offer to send it if you pay customs charges on it? Send a message to the dealer and see what they say. Not a lot else you can do, it's illegal property so I do't think it's advisable contacting customs about it.
