  1. Thanks Guys for the info...

I have had a look over at the sellers here on the board but there does not seem to be much on offer for what I am seeking.

I remember several years back I could pick and choose and got a cracking good Rolex complete with box and documents.

This served me well for when I eventually decided on an original.

I intend to do this again with my plan being to source a replica with as high a quality as possible and am happy to pay a high premium to achieve this.

This would then be used as a 'testbed' to see if it warrants splashing out on the real thing.

Obviously I would keep and use the replica, wearing it on occasions when either there would be a high chance of damage or theft.

    Mike

If there's anything that you are specifically after, try sending a link to the dealer and they can always try and source it for you :)

  2. Some great 3717's on here!

DVS - thanks for that comparison, the rep is actually very very close! The main thing I notice is like the difference between the UPO and the gen PO - the dial texture. However, I think Im right in syaing that Stephane varnished his and it came out looking very gen like!

  3. Firstly, a massive thank you to Lazarini, from whom I bought this magnificent piece. I am going away on holiday tomorrow and he went out of his way to make sure it was delivered before then...so again thank you S, yet again you show what a first class member you are!!

Secondly, this post is full of quick and dirty pictures because I have to pop out this afternoon. I will be doing a full and thorough review of the watch when I return from holiday next weekend, so I apologise for the photos!

Thirdly, I am so impressed with the watch. The quality of the finish really is in a completely different class to what I have experienced before. Especially the bracelet which is very heavy and very smooth!

Im assuming by the time on your avatar settings that your in the EU? If not, try www.timezone.com as that is generally for the American market.

  5. The GMT hand is adjusted with the minute hand (IIRC). And the regular hour hand is adjusted by jumping.

The BP has Chief AR, HK Tan OEM Spec Gator, DW Mod, regulated movement and Vaclume. It's bloody incredible for the money compared with the Gen.

I thought the BP was gen B)

  6. Glad to have been of inspiration :) I just like taking the photos while I'm away, as it gives me something to focus on while I'm there, and of course, it's nice to share the memories with folks :drinks:

I think it's nice to see things from the perspective of someone actually there, which travel sites and what not often lack. I can definitely see why my nan enjoyed visiting, I might have to try and convince my wife to take a trip there :) I'm liking the dog, he looks like he had character :D

I agree, over the last few years, I have become a real photoholic! Everywear I go, I seem to see inspiration for a nice picture, I'm a real nightmare to be with sometimes........ 'oohh sorry, one sec, I just want to take a quick picture' :)

Well if she needs any convincing shoot me a PM and I can send a few more shots through to your email address. It would make an absolutely brilliant couples holiday, especially a newly wed one like yourselves. In the evenings some of the bays are just like out of a film set!

The dog was so funny. I almost missed the shot as he decided to go back inside. As I was walking off he popped his head out again so I whipped the camera out John Wayne style.

  7. Nice pics, its great to have threads like this, really lovely to look at. Hope you enjoyed your time there bro and btw...

THAT is a special, SPECIAL image. Wow.

I know, I couldn't quite believe it when I was walking down the backstreets of Valletta and saw a Fiat 500 outside a coffee shop. It just looked so 'Italian' to me. There were a couple of older Fiat's around but what I loved about this particular setup was that the surroundings were all very traditional, yet the coffee shop and the Fiat were more modern, yet they didn't look out of place.
