I really want a UN. If a rep doesn't appear in the next year or so, I may consider the real thing, they are beautiful watches.

It's the same that our dealers stock, only difference is that it comes with an ETA styled datewheel, better than the standard one, but sitll not accurate to the gen

I don't remember which one it was, or the year. It was known to BMW as a problem though, and the only way to fix it was to put a whole new system in, and not being the conventional rack and pinion, it wasn't going to be cheap! Might be worth trying the car out first to see if it has this delay problem.

Not sure what colour yours is, but if it's a white one, then it would definitely suit it!

I have a friend with a BMW that has the idrive. It rives him crazy. There is a slight delay between what you input, and what happens. It's a known fault apparently, and has affected the resale value of his car.

The pictures of Silix's SMP on his website don't do the watch any justice. I have seen a few pics of this posted here, and it looks very good for the price.

I love the SA. I really wanted to buy one, but after trying one on in an AD I realised just how big they are. Unfortunately it looked rather silly on my wrist. Wear it well.

I would personally pressure test it first. There is no consistency with reps, Id be reluctant to wear the gen swimming.

I have very much been looking forward to this, as like you, the Breitling Navitimer was what started it off for me. It is a great watch. The numbers are far squarer on the ETA datefont, which are more accurate to the genuine, I haven't seen the wednesday font comparatively, but the the rest of the days look closer from what I have seen.

It's hard to tell, but the date doesn't look recessed, and the font looks very much correct (if I am correct in thinking it is an I would say it's a gen with the wong booklet

Just one quick point the 4th Gen PO is the best 42mm, whilst the UPO is the best 45mm PO.

As far as dress watches go, I quite like the Railmaster on a strap, an its very accurate too

Could end up with a massive list here In regards to genuine watches;

The majority of Breitling's come with a double AR coating (can't think of any recent ones that don't)

Omega PO, and Railmaster XXL have double AR

Omega SMP has single AR (not just the brand new 'red' SMP's also the older 'white SMP's - mine definitely has some sort of AR, although it doesn't give off a blue hue)

Tag Heuers generally do not come with AR. Although the new Aquaracer has single AR although I believe no blue hue.

Most Pams have a single coating of AR.

Most IWC's come with double AR - 3717, Aquatimer, BP, Ingenieur etc..

A few of the older Pilots models come with an internal coat only
