  1. Ok, so after everyone at my uni had their results delivered to them this morning, my postman came late. By 2.30, I was glancing at my Davidsen 005, wondering where on earth he had got to. As regular as an Asian 7750, he arrived, eventually. With his delviery were my results.

Opening results are no where near as fun as opening an EMS package. I was horrified. Once the paper was out of the envelope, a look to the bottom of tha page revealed I got a 1st in my first year doing law :thumbsupsmileyanim:

Now why would I post this here.....quite simply I need to add a watch to my collection as a celebration and for something to remind me of my first year at uni. I have narrowed it down to the above watches, any other suggestions are welcome.

    My current collection is

    BCE white on brown strap

    Omega UPO

    SOSF

    Gen Breitling Aerospace

    Pam 005

    Omega SMP Chono

    TT Navitimer

  2. The Ninjas on Strings genre is silly and holds little interest for me. However, occasional wirework (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) doesn't bother me. Still, the recent arrival of Tony Jaa has shook up what we're supposed to expect from a fightyfists film.

So yes, people can't fly, but Superhero films are ok? :D

I haven't seen that, only a couple of the jet li films, that's where I first saw it. Now if Superman was playing the lead role............ :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  3. Very interesting!!! You think York has that too??

    Good luck with your results!!!!

I think it may well do. I seem to remeber Yourk URNU being at sports weekend last year. Basiclaly where all the URNU units (14) go and do sports for a wekend. Wales always win

Anyway I've have somewhat gone off topic there, if want any info about it feel free to PM me. Il let you know how I get on too! Cheers Dutchy and wear that Breitling well!!

  4. It's a beautiful piece! Awaiting my first year uni result at the moment, if I get the result I need, I think I may well treat ,myself to one of these, it looks stunning in the two tone!! By the way, when you get to your uni, enquire about the URNU (University Royal Naval Unit) It is great fun, and there are a few times a year where all the units get together, for sports, and social occasions! If your into that kind of thing, you get paid, and it looks great on your cv too!

  5. I have been collecting for about a year now. I only have 6 reps, and a gen to my name. Over the past few months, mypassion has not subsided, but my willing to purchase a rep has. I love being a part of this community the sharing and learning, it's fantastic. However, for me to purchase a watch, it has to be something a bit special. I saw the Hublot, and yes thought it was wild, it was unique.....did I want it? No. I saw the Costeau, and it is beuatiful, did I want it? No. I saw the Slevin edition of the IWC, do I want it....YES. That is my next purchase.

My purchasing has slowed down, but my integration into this community hasn't. For me, the watches themselves are a 15% segment of the enjoyment I get from the hobby, the other 80% comes from here.

    Are reps worth buying?

It gives us something to talk about, and as true as Twotone's signature is, 'where people gather, life happens' That for me is the hobby of replica collecting. Purchasing and wearing the watch is all but a process. The discussion and anaylsing of it is where it starts and from where enjoyment stems for me.
