  1. usually if it doesn't explicitly say 28.8, it's 21.6
  2. In the case of a lost package, the sender (in this case Eurotimez) needs to first initate an inquiry--then the post office will investigate to see if they can track down the package. If they cannot, then Eurotimez needs to file an insurance claim. They need to do this in China or wherever they sent the package. You having an invoice is irrelevant, the ball is in Eurotimez' court and it's the insured amount that Eurotimez declared when sending the package that matters.
  3. Uh, apologies! I jumped the gun and am more than a bit embarrassed. Chris and Helina are taking care of it. I do really regret being hasty. thanks, John
  4. I was a little [censored] when I wrote this and may have been too hasty. Eurotimez did tell me they would refund, so I was a bit surprised to see a shipment notice from them. However, this may have been an error. I haven't heard back from them yet, so I don't want to jump the gun. And if this is an error, my apologies to Chris. regards, John
  5. What the Hell is wrong with Eurotimez? Now they screwed me too. I rejected my order because of obviously slanted print on the dial. They insisted the print was not slanted even though a blind person could see it, but said they would cancel. Now they just sent me a shipment notice. I can't believe this. They better believe there will be a claim with my credit card company. Unbelievably bad business practices. They should be banned from the forums.
  6. I want, I want, I want... Any chance I could get on the list?
  7. I know the IWC web site pictures show those rings, but the actual production models don't seem to have them. At least they are so faint that you can't see them without a loupe.
  8. OK, went to the AD today and looked at the gen. I could not see those concentric rings. They are either not there or so subtle they might as well not be there. Also, the ring around the sub dials does seem to be grey--it's not just a reflection. It is still pretty subtle, though. regards, John
  9. Lani, Do you know if the bezel font issue is being addressed as well? thanks, John
  10. Are you sure that the rings are not there. Could it be that they are so subtle they just don't show in the pictures? I have seen plenty of gen pics that don't show the rings. If the rep doesn't have the rings, I would think that was more than just a very minor tell. thanks for feedback, John
  11. OK, where did you get the dial?
  12. So how well does the cermic stay clean? DOes it pick up fingerprints easily? Do you find you have to clean it regularly or is it pretty "low maintenance"? Maybe it is a biased sample, but every picture of a gen that I have seen (not counting factory pictures), the case has been spotless, whereas the cases of the reps have looked pretty grungy. Wondering if the gen has some kind of anti-fingerprint coating. thanks a lot, John
  13. Only difference I can see between that watch and the V3 is the crown guard I noticed he wrote that bezel now has 1:1 engraving. Sure looks like the old/too thin V3 engraving.
  14. Comparing my gen GMT to my rep Panerai (316), I'd have to agree with the cleaning hypothesis. The polished parts of the rep case are spot on to the gen, whereas the brushed parts have a slight brownish cast. I'm going out to buy some stainless cleaner tomorrow. Where are you guys getting a gen DS to compare? Here in Zurich there is a 1 year waiting list and no examples in the stores.
  15. It should have some distortion, of course. But that looks a bit extreme compared to pictures of the gen. I was thinking about buying this rep too. Here are some gen pictures. Any chance you could take some pictures of your rep from the same angle?
  16. just one quick question...is the bezel font color correct? In the pictures it looks kind of off white.
  17. Just came back from Hong Kong/Beijing/Shanghai/Seoul/Tokyo/Singapore/Phnom Pen. All the time looking for good quality replicas. The only place I found replicas was in Shanghai and Hong Kong (didn't look in Singapore). It was extremely difficult to find the good quality ones. The vast majority of the dealers just sell the low quality fakes, but when you ask them if they have the good quality ones, the ALWAYS say they do. After 4 hours of looking, I only found one guy in Shanghai who had 6 watches with saphire crystals. Didn't find any in Hong Kong. A friend tells me that Shen Zhen is the place to go for replicas, but I didn't have time to go.
